Pittsburgh Steelers

Positions of Need:

CB, DL, QB, RB, OL

Needs Analysis: Analysis: The Steelers quietly helped their special teams this offseason by adding Arnaz Battle, Antwaan Randle El, Larry Foote and Will Allen. Now they can go after their other needs. They could use a starting cornerback, and picking at No. 18 could provide the opportunity to grab a player like Joe Haden or Kyle Wilson. Their first-round selection from a year ago, Ziggy Hood, added depth to the defensive line, but don't be surprised to see the Steelers tap the position again this time around. Running back Willie Parker is unsigned, so a solid complement to Rashard Mendenhall in the middle rounds is a good idea. Many of the sacks QB Ben Roethlisberger takes are his fault, but nonetheless it is time to add some young talent to an average line.

*** I would think that WR as a need would be a draft consideration for the Steelers with the Holmes trade. Perhaps not with their first round pick, but at some point in the draft ***

I could see the Steelers looking to pick a top WR prospect like Thomas, but I think that they would look to move down into the 20s vs. taking him at the 1.18 spot

I like for them to make a package deal to move up in the 2nd round for Benn/Tate. 1st round, I'd be equally happy (from a talent standpoint) with K.Wilson, M.Pouncey or Iupati. I like the depth in the draft at CB more, so I'd say the dropoff makes OL the priority and both interior guys are pretty solid locks as the top of their positions. As a Steeler fan, I have to go with the C over the G just out of tradition. Webster, Dawson, Hartings were all lifetime anchors and always undervalued. A pro-bowl CB is going to make a lot more over their career than a pro-bowl C. Pouncey is my favorite, but I couldn't argue with any of the three.

Solid analysis

I voted Iupati, but I think Pouncey is right there with him. I wouldnt be surprised if they move up a few spots to take Haden.

I hope to god they dont take a WR in the 1st. Not a big fan of taking one in the 2nd either considering the WR options relative to other positions.
