toe injury. There seems to be some question about pass protection as well, but this wasn't confirmed.

The Lions MUST get a change of pace back for J. Best, and it's not Kevin Smith. They need a big body that can come in and move the pile.
Best is not a 25 carry back for a 16 game season for a career type guy. The Lions will absolutely ruin this guy (who's one hell of a talent) if they don't start drafting offensive line that can block and a big change of pace back.
Same can go for Stafford, they're in the process of ruining him. They need to spend zero picks on skill positions and draft offensive linemen studs.
They look to me like they're in line for another top 5 pick so they should start paying attention to college football soon.

No dude, it had nothing to do with ability, he was injured with a toe injury in the 2nd quarter. You should probably know what you're posting before you do in The Shark Pool.
I am gong to miss all of the I wouldn't trade Best for Peterson, MJD, and Rice threads this week.

Don't be a jackass. Disagree or make a statement but I'm sick and tired of this "You must not watch him" type of posts. Pure garbage. These are stupid and even worse than the stupid who I just traded for posts that invade player threads.His ypc hasn't been special this year...heck, it hasn't even been that good. The Lions still have a questionable o-line. His fantasy numbers this year have been skewed by the touchdowns. He's good. He's not as good as his fantasy numbers this year have indicated.

He's just about the same size as Chris Johnson..... any word on how bad the toe is just yet? .... turf toe? .... injured last week,aggravated today?
I watched the game. He is going to struggle busting through tackles. He will struggle with big, physical defenses.
he wasn't very good when he was playing. I think the kid is talented but it is amazing at how ridiculously overvalued a good portion of the posters around here have him.

I certainly didn't mean it as a bad thing. It's just touchdowns are the biggest fluke to predict. So when he doesn't get the td's his ypc will likely keep his performance from being anything great.I'd still be happy with Best on my team.

Its amazing how happy some people are that he didn't do well. I didn't see the game but I believe he was running at a +4 ypc against a damn good run defense. To the poster that referenced the tds, why would that skew his numbers? That's similar to saying, "if you take away that long run." People drafted him based on his homerun ability. The toe injury worries me, but to say he had a bad game seems unfair considering he played for less than a half.

DUDE, he was injured. He had one carry in the second half and barely played in the 2nd quarter. Before that he was doing nice, busting off some long runs.

Someone puts you in your place and you still go on and call that person a jackass.Look, it has nothing to do with him being THAT good or NOT THAT good, the player was injured in the 2nd quarter. When someone creates a thread asking why someone didn't do well, don't put stuff down like he's not THAT good when it was an injury that was the problem.

Some people sure are riding Best hard for not doing much against a tough Bears D, and then getting injured against a tough Minnesota D.

Durability plays into how valuable a player. So roll your eyes all you want. He just isn't good enough to warrant all of the attention and fan boy reaction after 1 nice game.

It was because of an injury, that is what happened. People looking for quality info don't want to read "he's not all THAT" when the guy got a toe injury in the 2nd quarter. He came in to flame Best and Detroit for that matter. You start off by saying teams suck and giving as far as I'm concerned innacurate information, you get what you deserve. Fine, let me clarify: He got injured and that's what prevented him from finishing the game. However, he was on pace for an ugly game (similar to week 1 minus the touchdowns).

You weren't that hard on him, I agree. I just didn't think his original reply was that bad either. But I do think the "you didn't watch" stuff needs to stop... We can all see the exact same thing and disagree, even NFL officials struggle with this.
