2008 Texas vs. Nation Coverage (1 Viewer)

The two RBs I would like to know more are:

Hightower - How does he play against better competition?

Broussard - Any sign of the play he was before the injury?

Thanks guys for the coverage.

We're in El Paso and very excited to start tomorrow off with the mini combine. Was able to talk with Marcel Reece on the plane from Phoenix to El Paso. Then I was riding in the hotel shuttle with Bret Meyer and Demetrius Bell. Both seemed to be very excited to be here, and Meyer and I were talking about Todd Blythe (who was at the Shrine Game). Can't wait for tomorrow! :blackdot:

NCAA statistics show Taylor Tharp of Boise State as 7th nationally this season and 4th career in passing efficiency. Very accurate. Is anyone giving him a look?

Happy to see Eric Foster playing well. He was a big part of Rutgers' defense, and rooting for him to make it to the next level. Has he been used solely at DT, or at DE too? I know there has been talk of moving him.

I was impressed watching Amendola (Texas Tech) during the season and upon seeing him play for the first time, I immediately thought of Wes Welker as well.

If he keeps it up during the week, what is his round projection?

Hightower has good moves and cuts, but doesn't have a great burst and doesn't do too well between the tackles. I don't see much of an NFL future for him. Broussard needs to get in a little better shape, but has shown good toughness and hands. He could hang around.

Big fan of Corey Lynch. I hope he shows some here to make scouts excited to draft him.
He's winning us over - Lynch is not in tip top shape because he just took three weeks off to get married, but you can see flashes of good enough athleticism and great instincts.

The QBs here and at the Shrine Game (except for Josh Johnson :goodposting: ) range from barely adequate to :goodposting: - although in fairness to the Texas QBs, it was ridiculously windy at yesterday's practice.

He's getting some snaps at DE, and honestly not looking nearly as good against more mobile tackles than he looked against more top-heavy interior linemen. We still like him, but the buzz has died down since his dominant first practice.

5th-7th round at best. We're very impressed. He's won us over with his hands, routes, body control, and quicks.

Any word on how New Mexico WR Travis Brown and OT Devin Clark have looked thus far?
Clark has looked decent, priority UFA type. Brown is not here - he got moved up to the Shrine Game and had a good week. He might be the better of the UNM WRs in this draft even though Smith has gotten more pub.

Any word on Thaddeus Colman OL and Jaymar Johnson WR? Im a big fan of the SWAC and I'm willing to bet that Jaymar Johnson will be one of the steals of this draft. How is he looking so far? What is his draft status?

The highlight of this game came at the halftime when Buddy Ryan blasted his team with best remark being "that first quarterback we had was GD disaster."
