Kate's Daddy
I am running a contest to see who can rank the top 20 players at each position closest to the year end top 20 players rank. The person who ranks the players closest to their actual year end ranking will win $5 from me via Paypal or check. I will also average all the ranking that are posted here and determine how close the average is to the actual year end ranking. If the winner is closer to the actual ranking than the average, I'll double the prize and you'll win $10.

Here are the rules:

1) There will be a thread and prizes for each of 6 positions: QB, RB, WR, TE, PK, DEF/ST.

2) Scoring is simple: 1 pt per 20 yards passing, 1 pt per 10 yards rushing/receiving, 6 pts for TDs, 3 pts for FGs, 1 pt for XPs, 2 points for Fumble Recovery, INT, and Safety. 1 point for Sacks.

3) List your top 20 players in order for each of the positions by their predicted end of year fantasy point rank. The actual number of fantasy points you predict for each player DOES NOT matter. Just their rank. List the players by their first initial, last name and team. If there is any doubt, use a full name. If you enter R. Williams in the WR thread, I'm not going to figure out whether you mean Roy, Reggie or Roydell. I'll just skip it.

4) When doing the comparison, lowest difference total wins. Each player that you rank will be reviewed and compared to the year end ranking and the average ranking. Each slot you are off will equate to that number of "points". So if you predict that Peyton Manning will be the number 1 ranked QB and he actually finishes as the number 3 ranked QB, you gain 2 points. You predict that Donovan McNabb finishes as the 2nd ranked QB and he actually finishes 15th. That is 13 more points. And so on down your 20 players. I will compare your list to a top 4o list at year end. OK, here's the solution. I will compare your top 20 list with the top 40 at year end. The maximum number of points you can get is 20. So if your #1 ranked QB finishes the year at 39th, you still get 20 points, not 38. But if your 19th ranked QB finishes at 23rd, you get 4 points. I want to reward folks for being close, but not punish them too much for a season ending injury to a top player. The lowest point total wins.

5) In case of a tie for lowest point total, the EARLIEST final edit is the winner. For example, BassNBrew and H.K. both have 61 points. Bass entered his ranking on August 21st and then edited it on September 7th. H.K. entered his ranking on September 4th. H.K. would win (however unlikely that is to believe, wink1.gif )

6) Enjoy.

Knew I forgot something: Thread is locked at 8PM EST on Thursday, September 7th.

How are they ranked? Yards? Total Points? Sacks? Ints? Safeties? TDs scored? If a comnination, what? What about Special Teams (usually lumped in with DTs).

6 pts for TDs, 2 points for Fumble Recovery, INT, and Safety. 1 point for Sacks.Looks like std FBG so ST TDs should count too.
