NEW YORK GIANTS-Waived LB Barry Robertson and WR Marco Thomas. Placed S Michael Stone on injured reserve. Signed LB Karibi Dede.

TodayThe Green Bay Packers QB Ingle MartinCincinnati Bengals 8/24 Bobby Blizzard (TE) cut.
Watching Martin at the combine I thought he was going to be really good, and that he might pass Rodgers on the depth chart. :yawn:Blizzard is a local kid. Good guy. Huge. He'll be back with the Bengals (IR) if he isn't claimed.

You and me both.
me 3...u have to wonder what happens to these guys...or is the organization misjudging his talent?...i'm sure others can atest to how good this guy looked coming out...u don't have to be a pro scout to see it...u just have to know fooball...anyway, i'm intrigued by the dynamics of player personnel & if i had to do it over, i would've somehow persued a career in pro football (coaching or front office)...but wouldn't we all, LOL

He was a 6th round pick why is everyone shocked?

I think you guys missed Paul Thompson this summer. (link above) He beat Ingle out.

IMO from press clippings a good while back, Ingle could have beat out Rodgers for the backup spot as Rodgers was struggling but.....I'm not sure Ingle had enough fire to win a job. Alot of NFL's young players have been handed everything their whole football career and are "out of sorts" having to prove their worth

The Rams released RB Kay-Jay Harris, WR Rasheed Marshall, WR Nate Morton, WR Markee White, FB Brad Lau, P Fred Capshaw; DE Alton Pettway; LB Larry Edwards, DB Harrison Smith and DB Jeffrey Dukes.

Harris had played on special teams for the Rams last year, but even he isn't much of a surprise.

The Titans got a jump start on their first round of cuts, waiving seven today including one draft pick from 2006 – receiver Jonathan Orr, a sixth rounder from Wisconsin.

Also gone are defensive tackle Quartez Vickerson, offensive lineman Marques Ogden, safety Brandon Sharp, tight end Andy Thorn, defensive end Jermaine McElveen and punter Glenn Pakulak.

Saints Coach Payton:

“Today we released four players – linebacker Desmond Sims, cornerback Joe Porter, quarterback Jason Fife and wide receiver Aaron Hosack.

Thompson may not end up on anything but the practice team anyway.

Texans cuts...nothing surprising whatsoever...from houstontexans.com

(defensive tackle) Thomas Johnson, (quarterback) Quinton Porter, (quarterback) Bradlee Van Pelt, (wide receiver) Harry Williams, (defensive tackle) Thomas Smith, (wide receiver) Charlie Adams, (cornerback) Derrick Roberson and (tight end) Ben Steele.

(defensive tackle) Thomas Johnson
former high pick no?
That's Travis Johnson...Thomas was a street FA who held his own last season. Travis has started to play better and will be in a rotation at least if not a starter.

Edit for Kubiak quote

on if he’s made a decision at center) “No, I have not yet. We’ll make a decision on (center) Steve (McKinney). There are three situations that I’ll let you guys know, probably Tuesday or Wednesday. That’s regarding McKinney, regarding the SAM linebacker position between (linebackers) Charlie (Anderson) and Danny Clark, and also the last one with (defensive tackle) Travis Johnson, between Travis and (defensive tackle) Anthony Maddox. I’ll let you guys know about that Tuesday or Wednesday.”

The Jaguars placed linebacker Tony Gilbert on the injured reserve list with a biceps injury, assigned defensive end Brian Smith (hip) to the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list and waived kicker Aaron Elling.

49ers waived WR Marcus Maxwell, OLB Roderick Green, WR Dominique Zeigler, FB Steve Dildine, G Nick Steitz, LB John Syptak, DB Sammy Joseph, K MacKenzie Hoambrecker, and P Kenny Parrish.

Lotta good that hot run in NFL Europa did Maxwell. Most of the rest of these players were undrafted rookies. Green had five sacks last season but became expendable when the Niners drafted Jay Moore in the fourth round.

CAROLINA PANTHERS-Placed QB Brett Basanez on injured reserve. Released G Nate Bennett, DT Brent Curvey, DB Kevin Garrett, WR Jahkeen Gilmore, OT Eric Graham, S Jermaine Hardy and DT Chad Lavalais

It has been a while since some good press on MarcusToo bad homewrecker couldn't make it

Journeyman WR David Terrell, defensive tackle Demetrin Veal, tight end Teyo Johnson and running back Troy Fleming are expected to be cut by Demver prior to Tuesday’s deadline.

besides the big arm, one of the things the coaching staff and personnel dept. liked most about him coming out of college was his decision-making ability.when he continued to make bone-headed mistake after bone-headed mistake they realized he wasn't improving and probably would never see the field. they like Thompson's raw abilities a great deal more :shrug:who knows.. #3 QBs cycle in and out every year.

The Raiders cut wide receivers Lauren Williams and Rich Parson, offensive linemen Albert Toeaina and Torrin Tucker, defensive tackle Jared Clauss and defensive backs Colin Branch and Levonne Rowan.

The Jaguars waived six first year players -- offensive tackle Andrew Carnahan, a seventh round pick, wide receivers Roosevelt Kiser and D'Juan Woods, running back D.D. Terry, defensive end Jeremy Mincey and quarterback Lester Ricard.

Jets released RB Tony Hollings, WR Tim Dwight, WR Dante Ridgeway, DE Darrell Adams, DT Zarnell Fitch, CB Rayshaun Kizer, OL Nick Smith, and WR Juan Wong.

Vikings released QB Drew Henson, CB Jerron Wishom, WR Todd Lowber, P Alex Reyes, LB John Kerr, DT Alex Guerrero, G Josh Day, and DT Joe Bradley.

Jaguars released TE Jermaine Wiggins.
So many tems he could go sign with and factor into the passing game. BuffaloCinci...with Henry out 3 games he could be a nice weaponIndy...Manning could find him. I know they have Clark and others but...Philly...LJ SMith can't seem to get healthyDetNOSeattle...only have Marcus PollardWiggins has had some productive seasons over the past 2-3 years...maybe he can't block but he can catch plenty.

Is Jared Zabransky (Boise State hero QB) still on the team? I don't recall seeing stats from him from preseason. You'd think with Houston's lack of experience at QB, they'd at least give this kid a shot. He's got to be more talented and NFL ready than Sage Rosenfels (and that's coming from a Jew that's thrilled there's a few random Jewish players that still have NFL jobs!)

Actually, Kubiak and staff like Rosenfels a lot and rumor had it that if they did not rid themselves of Carr, there would have been legitimate competition between Sage and Carr for the number 1 job. Rosenfels is the clear and no doubt number 2 in Houston. On Zabransky, he is due to see a bunch of action on Thursday. There is a better than average chance that they will attempt to sneak him through waivers and place him on the practice squad. For much of last year, Houston carried on two QBs on its active roster and its believed they want to do that again.

What coolnerd said. Don't recall who I heard saying it, but someone on TV or Radio was saying that Kubiak won't be carrying a QB that he doesn't think should be starting. So Zabransky would probably end up either on the practice squad, or cut.
