Dunn may get a little more short yardage work, but Justin Griffith will be the beneficiary of Duckett's departure. Least I read that somewhere recently.

I've read that as well, but don't discount Marlion Jackson. He was on the team last year, but was cut in favor of Deandra Cobb. Cobb should get a visit from the Turk this year with Rossum healthy, and Jackson looked pretty strong Saturday. He looked great last year in camp too, but Duckett was around to fill the goal line role. With Norwood in for Duckett, he is the only RB with decent size.
* Our sources in Atlanta tell us diminutive starting RB Warrick Dunn might get a few more carries in short-yardage situations now that bruising backup T.J. Duckett is in Washington. But we hear the biggest beneficiary of the Duckett trade is FB Justin Griffith, who will line up in the backfield in single-back sets and will get most of Duckett’s short-yardage touches.
Was also listening to 680 The Fan today here in Atlanta. The crew was up at the Falcons TC and were interviewing Vick live. Being the local yokels they were throwing him nice softball questions. One of the guys was building Vick up about the O and how much talent he's got this year yada yada yada and Vick opened up a bit talking about how Knapp knows what suits Vick best now and what a great job Mularkey has done and then Vick said something that made my ears perk up.
Can't remember the exact words but it was along the lines of the offense being opened up and what they have planned for him in the run game.
IIRC, I remember hearing last year that Vick had all kinds of audible discretion at the line of scrimmage when the offense is close to the goal line. He calls the play in the huddle and then assesses the defense and whether he can roll out and outrun the defense to the corner or try to dump it off to the WR/TE in the back of the endzone.
Knowing Vick's ego, IMO he's gonna call his own number more times than allowing the RB to try to pound it in..........

Good post. He's practically a lock to make the team here and the message boards at atlantafalcons.com have been raving about him. He's basically a tougher version of Duckett.
