Despite not touching the field for the first 11 games, Booker finished the season with 28 receptions and 362 yards from scrimmage. Over a 16-game season, this would equate to 90 receptions and 1,158 yards from scrimmage. Granted...Ronnie Brown tore his ACL and Booker probably saw the field more than expected the past five games. However, one would have to assume Ronnie will not be a 25+ carry guy immediately following his ACL rehab and Booker will get his touches. Also, the Dolphins have incorporated Booker as a WR/slot player at times and I'm assuming this will not change in '08.

Does anybody think Booker could be a poor-man's Reggie Bush/MJD in '08 for performance/PPR leagues??

 
With a new GM and HC anything is possible, including that he doesn't even make the team. I don't see him as a good keeper/dynasty player because it took him so long to even see the field this year despite many injuries at RB and now the guy who drafted him is gone.

I think Booker has the skill-set to be used exactly like Reggie Bush. I doubt that Miami puts that much emphasis on him though. With Ron Brown coming back, Ricky Williams and Jesse Chatman in the mix...I don't see much upside next year for Booker.

The major problem here is that we have no clue what scheme they'll run. There's too much up in the air. Unless they trade him which is hard to predict, Booker will be on that roster next year, which means IMHO that either Ricky or Chatman (or both) are gone. Parcells has always liked a Dave Meggett (sans sexual assault charges) type on his roster, so Booker seems likely to stay regardless.
 
At the very best, a Leon Washington role.

Most likely, I view him as another Jerome Harrison (game day inactive) type. I'd deal him in a heartbeat if someone thinks what happened at the end of this year will give him a larger role for 2008.

I read this earlier today. I think you have hang on to Lorenzo another year. Never know how things or what things will break with RBs.
 
I have Brown and Booker in my main dynasty. I'd like to cut Booker, but just don't think you can cut him just yet. Why they didn't get him more involved and sooner last year is a mystery. He does have some ability and you never know what will happen. I think the likelihood of him doing much is pretty low though.

 
I think he could put up Chris Perry-type numbers...back in '06 when he was "somewhat" healthy.

 
Booker is nice.

I think he brings a different skill to the table outside of Ronnie Brown.

Ricky may be a spare tire to Brown once the season goes.

If Ronnie does not come back effectively, Booker will have a much larger role.

It's obvious Cam was just clueless....I don't have a link, I'll try to dig it up tomorrow if you want, but I was reading his teamates couldn't believe how good the guy was and didn't understand why he wasn't used sooner.

I am and I did. but booker was so bad in college, its hard to see him diong much unless catches are 70% of his production and the new staff really likes him

For whatever the reason: Politics or Paying Rookie Dues, the point is when the dude did hit the field he performed pretty well.If the Dolphins want to maximize value they'll find ways to get him the ball. He looked good, not necessarily Reggie Bush at USC good... but good enough to make plays in the NFL...If healing goes as well as everyone hopes, meaning Ronnie and Ricky both come back healthy, the Dolphins will have one of the best RB stables in football.I'm high on both Lorenzo and Pierre Thomas in Dynasty formats (although I'm not saying I'm sold on '08 production from either of them...)-my 2¢

You love this guy, dontcha, Sig?Don't forget - everyone looks amazing in April/May. I would be wanting him in a dynasty league or if I were a Brown owner, but as far as 2008 goes, I will hold opinions on his FF value until I hear how much, and what kind of, use he gets during TC.

As a 'phin fan, however, I say :unsure: I want to see this kid play and I think he could be a great contribution to the offense. Between Ginn and Booker, the 'phins could create some quickness matchup problems for opposing defenses. Getting them the ball in a place where they can make game changing plays is on the coaches.

The thing is, last season, Booker's team mates (mostly defenders IIRC) were saying how well he was playing in practice and how he jumped out on film and were wondering why he wasn't seeing field-time.I agree that his worth is probably higher if you're a RBrown owner, but IMO Booker is probably a good buy-low in Dynasty formats.

 
It's not hard to see the value of Kevin Faulk to the Pats or Meggett to the previous Giants teams. While Faulk is BB, it's the same role. I can't imagine Sparano not doing something that works if he's got the personnel to do it, regardless if BP isn't the coach.

IF BP's influence is seen in the overall scheme, they're going to pound Ricky and Ronnie and I don't know if they can hold up. That's another reason this kid is probably coming in on 3rd, to rest them for a play.

Unless there's an injury, I think he'll be good for the Fins but not necessarily for FF.

I don't know if this applies to Booker but often when people are upset a rookie RB didn't play more it's blocking/picking up the blitz. If he's in that Meggett role, he'd better be a good blocker.

Does he have Faulk's hands?Does he have Meggett's blocking?His skill set right now is unknown. I, as a phin fan, would like to find out what he can do. I am sure the team wants to know what commodity they have. I expect him to see a lot of work in practices leading up to TC and I hope they define a role for him in the offense.As for FF value, it's a big :thumbdown: right now, but I would not be looking for much help - even in PPR leagues - from Booker as an '08 prospect. Sack-religious is probably right that he is a good buy-low commodity - lowest he'll probably be if he is ever going to peak into worthwhile FF value. Stuck behind Brown/Williams (both RBs have shown the ability to block and catch passes - neither is just a runner), his touches are questionable even if he shines. But, that does not mean that Ricky will be on the team in 365 days or that Brown will remain healthy next year. Positions of depth become positions of weakness real fast in today's NFL.
