Ravens/Redskins Scrimmage (1 Viewer)

Demetrius with a handful of nice snags for the Ravens...appeared to be the "go-to" WR.

McGahee looked pretty ordinary.

Has McGahee been involved in the passing game? Why has he looked ordinary.

Who came in after him - Anderson or Smith

How has Yamon Figues looked - Is he the return man?

Smith came in after McGahee...McGahee caught one pass in the flat for 3 yards...didn't watch the special teams portion of the scrimmage...only watching 11 on 11.

Nice rollout and pass by Smith to Marcus Freeman, rookie from Notre Dame.

I haven't seen any scrimmage video. Here's what I've gotten from 'Skins fans and bloggers, however.

1) The 'Skins defensive line didn't generate any pressure, but there were only five current or former starters playing when they went 11-on-11 (Carter, Salave'a, Fletcher, Taylor and Landry, who is a rookie, of course), and some observers thought that they were intentionally not rushing the passers (who couldn't be hit anyway) to see how the CB's reacted to the pressure put upon them. The above combo made Boller and the other Ravens QB's look pretty good and the 'Skins DB's (especially Jimoh) look poor.

2) Campbell apparently looked very sharp in the 7-on-7 drills (which apparently weren't televised). They intentionally held Campbell out of the 11-on-11 drills to look at the backup QB's, because they have some tough decisions there between Collins, Palmer and Bramlet for the QB3, and Brunell recovering from shoulder surgery. The backups all looked pretty bad from what I hear, with Palmer's TD pass being about the only exception.

3) The 'Skins run defense looked strong, as did the 'Skins rushing game during the 11-on-11 drills.

they were televised, I just didn't watch them because it's not real football...a lot of QBs are awesome without the threat of any real pressure and against vanilla defense.I may go back and look at them, but I rarely put much stock in what I see in 7 on 7s.

Saw the local coverage of the scrimmage. Campbell looked sharp mainly throwing dump offs. He only had one deep complettion, and that was pretty nice. Other than that either the WR's couldn't get open or he wasn't looking to go downfield.

Campbell said afterwards that the Ravens defense was playing a loose zone, so he was taking what they were giving him on the check-downs.

Inactive. They're resting the knee to let the tendonitis resolve. I doubt they'd have played him anyway for fear of injury. It's not like they don't know what they have with him, plus he hates preseason work and they've got to be worried about a repeat of last year.

The Ravens targeted Demetrius Williams 5 times in a row during the 11 on 11 drills. He looks like a big time sleeper!

Great stuff Lhucks, and everyone else that's posted on it. Keep the NFL network stuff coming. Since we switched to cable, I'm without.

Campbell looked in control and as good as any Redskins fan would reasonably expect. I thought Derrick Blaylock also looked very sharp and although it was merely a scrimmage, it bears worth watching if he works his way into a few plays.

They were running two 7-on-7s and some 1-on-1s all at once. It was a Ravens telecast and they mostly focused on the 7-on-7s involving the Ravens O and the Skins D. So, yes, it was televised, but they didn't show quite as much of Campbell as I would have liked.

I watched some of this before heading to work this afternoon. Ravens were definately give D.Williams some work, something to keep a close eye on in the upcoming weeks.

I'm so addicted that I was watching the Packers Family Day scrimage at 3 am last night after work, only to get up and watch the Skins-Ravens scrimage before heading back to work where I spent all afternoon/evening on FBG's and then tune into the Saints-Steelers game via internet radio.

Watching it as well. Are they televising more of these scrimmages this week?I :sadbanana: NFL Network!
Do they have adds for divorce attorneys on NFL Network, because I'm sure I'd need one if I ever got it at home. On topic, did Drew Olson play today? If so, how did he do?
