Terry Glenn - OUT FOR TWO WEEKS (1 Viewer)

Crayton is the obvious beneficiary, but Witten is looking like a potential steal where is ADP was sitting a couple of days ago.

I have both links open right now."out for the season" is from 5:38pm, while "out for 2 weeks" is from 5:58pm.Rob Phillips, staff writer, wrote both. :confused:
 
I'm betting they released the "out for season" info without thinking about the consequences, and then re-issued the press release as "at least two weeks" as damage control.

My bet is the out for season is the true story...

 
I would guess that he is gone for the season because the original story has quotes from Jerry Jones in it.

"You hate to see this with one of your top players and we need all of those we can beyond the field," Jones said. ""It's a real blow for Terry and for us."

Unless he made up the quote

That quote can't apply to a guy that is going to be out for two weeks?

It can but it doesn't appear in the 2 week article.

I'm trying to gauge where this would move Crayton in the rankings if it turns out Glenn is done for the year. I would assume somewhere around WR 35-40 with upside?

 
Okay, just got home and am just reading this but........

I listened to Wade Phillips presser today and all he said was that Glenn, Ellis, and Newman did not practice. There was no mention of being out for the season (or 2 weeks for that matter).

 
There are one of two options here:

1. Jerry Jones didn't think about, or understand, the ramifications of releasing injury information before talking to his coaching staff.

2. Jerry Jones doesn't know what the Hell he is talking about and is, once again, talking out of his ###.

Both sound plausible to me.

Jones said Glenn's knee injury is similar to that of former Cowboys center Al Johnson, who missed his entire rookie season in 2003 following microfracture surgery.

"You hate to see this with one of your top players and we need all of those we can beyond the field," Jones said. ""It's a real blow for Terry and for us."

Glenn missed all of preseason after having arthroscopic knee surgery Aug. 1 to remove a tiny cyst from the back of his right kneecap. The 33-year-old receiver returned to practice Wednesday but sat out Thursday because of what Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips described as swelling in his knee.

Without Glenn, the Cowboys must rely on Terrell Owens, fourth-year veteran Patrick Crayton and second-year veterans Sam Hurd and Miles Austin. It's also likely they will add another wide receiver to replace Glenn, who will likely be placed on injured reserve soon.

Rotoworld has out for two weeks article, I have noticed that the link now has changed the writers name to just STAFF WRITER, before it was Rob something, and the article that had Glenn out originally for a year was 20so minutes before the updated version of out for 2+weeks came.

Some dumb staff writer messed up the story and now their trying to correct it, IMO

Or some web dude jumped the gun and put an early - and not ok'd or verified - article on the site.

I didn't read the link but here's what I know.

1. Glenn practiced at full speed yesterday.

2. Glenn didn't practice today.

3. Wilson was on the "Wade Wilson Show" and said that Glenn is going to be ok. (could be coach speack)

IMHO, Glenn is not going to be ok.

My first reaction before the "Wade Show" was that if I had Glenn I would trade him immediately without hesitation, the same can be said for the T. Newman (IDP Leagues), and the Cowboy Def.

While I agree it's really confusing....and since there was no press conference......if you've ever worked in PR, most quotes are made up by the PR guys. So, the Director of PR must've gotten the very bad news about Glenn (from somewhere) and had the writer attribute made-up quotes to Jones, before either the HC or GM got wind of it.

In all likelihood, Glenn's injury is worse than the "2 weeks+" being attributed to it now.....

 
Keep in mind the article says two weeks OR LONGER. So it could still be a out for the season scenario, but the verdict still isn't quite determined. Either that or the Cowboys don't want the masses to know the truth yet. Either way, this is a big story :football:

 
folks, these guys rarely if ever write their own quotes, the PR guys do, especiallly in a rush. So Jerry likely was shown it after it went out, got really pissed, and rescinded the story.
