Bills | C.J. Spiller out indefinitely

Mon, 15 Nov 2010 09:01:48 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB C.J. Spiller (hamstring) is out indefinitely after suffering a hamstring injury in Week 10, according to The Associated Press. Although final test results are not yet in, head coach Chan Gailey all but ruled out Spiller from playing in Week 11. "I can't imagine him playing this week," Gailey said. "We'll have to see how long it lasts."

Didn't see anything posted on this, but in the aftermath of Fred Jackson's big game yesterday, he looks poised to be the Bills' workhorse for the forseeable future (even more so than he already has).

Many will say "yeah, but it's the Bills", but keep in mind that the team has been in competitive in many of their losses, and even if they ball behind, Fred has proven to be a solid every down back that is active in the passing game.

Just something to keep in mind amid all the RBBCs and underperforming higher ranked guys.

awesome game for Fred. He's been getting 20+ carries 3 out of the last 4 games, this was his first really productive one. His schedule down the stretch isn't the greatest, but you could do worse for a full time RB. Def no Spiller is a plus.

With teams ahead of the Bills, they'll be playing prevent defense. Big time yardage on draws and screens.

Even with Spiller there was he really a threat to take anything away from Jackson? Spiller has had zero fantasy relevance this year and now that he is out it only helps anyone that owned Spiller - Now they can start anyone else on their rosters.

I won't expect much more than his usual 7-8 pts. Bills will go back to their usual being behind and throwing the ball a lot more than in the last game.

Jackson was getting most of the carries, but Spiller was still getting a fari number of touches. Now presumably those touches - or at least a significant portion - will now go to Jackson.

I like him. I think he'll be better than he was the last few weeks but not as good as last weekend. Decent #2 in ppr leagues.

I am looking at Felix Jones and F-Jax on the WW as we speak. Who has more upside down the stretch? MBIII days seem just about over in Dallas and Buffalo has nobody else.

I swear, every time this year .. once I drop somebody the next thing I know they blowup. Frustrating is an understatement.

:blackdot: Same thing I'm looking at. Right now I'm leaning towards Felix, I like his remaining schedule better, but I could be easily persuaded. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

I think the safer pick is Jackson simply because he's guaranteed most of the touches, but Felix probably has a higher ceiling if he does become more of a workhorse back.

I dropped him right before the game too... good thing I clinched a playoff spot already, otherwise I would be pretty upset.
