1) Oak takes Russell at QB, This is my hardest pick of the Bunch! I know Oakland should pick Thomas, but Davis suprised me when he took Gallery and he got burned by that one. I know Davis wants Calvin Johnson but he knows the fans will hang him if he does, so he passes on him too. Which leaves " I want to play for Cleveland" Quinn! That just got him overlooked by Al! If he's gonna take a QB, it'll be one that puts butts in the seats and I think he goes with Russell here, along with a bunch of Russell is superman commercials. He fits Davis's mold better anyway.
2) Det takes Joe Thomas, This one is a lot easier! Millen had no interest in Quinn until Quinn basically said he didn't want to play for him. Then Matt's radar went up and he said "Well he must be really good then!" He was all set to pick him until he was told that he'll be fired week 1 if his o-line still sucks and being an old o-lineman himself, he realizes Thomas is a solid pick.
3) Tampa Bay takes Brady Quinn, I put TB at 3 here because there's a coin toss involved, and I have a feeling that the Browns loose due to a staff infection. I would bet dollars to doughnuts that Gaines Adams would be their pick if Quinn wasn't on the board, but Gruden isn't gonna let Quinn pass by him.
4) Cleveland- My home team- I want Joe Thomas! Joe Thomas is our future! As such, being a Browns fan I know he'll be gone before we get to pick so I'll go with choice #2 CLE takes Branch even if we have pick #3 I think we pass on Quinn since we have 2 young Qb's with potential. I'm not saying that the potential pan out, but a team with a lot of needs has to hope a little more that some of that potential will pan out.
5) AZ takes Gaines Adams, They take a look at Peterson, but Adams should have never fell this far.
6) Wash takes Leon Hall, This team is closer to being a contender than you think, and lining up Hall next to Springs just might put them over the edge.
7) Minn takes Calvin Johnson. Say Hello to the next Randy Moss! He shouldn't have fell this low, and if Davis does suddenly say "screw everyone!" and takes Johnson #1 then I see Minn taking Russell here and not screwing up my draft too much! If they get Rusell, look for endless Culpepper comparisons.
8) HOU takes Amobi Okoye, this guy is a steal right here and a definate need for this team. This pick will put Williams in the Pro-bowl next year.
9) Mia takes... this should be a free square!!!! They should take a QB here, but depending on the coach it could be Brohm or Smith. I'm gonna take Smith here because he has a better chance to impress at the combine.
10) Atl takes Ginn. It doesn't matter if they get Moss or not, they take Ginn here. If they get both then take them very seriously. If Vick gets traded and they got both, take them even more seriously.
11) SF takes Quinn Pitcock, the Niners get some much needed DL help.
12) Buff takes Jeff Samardzija, a good fit here for a team that needs a WR.
13) STL takes Patrick Willis, This is a little bit of reach according to the experts, but he's the best LB out there and a good fit for STL.
14) Car takes Brian Brohm, My favorite of the QB's falls this far.
15) Pitt takes Ryan Kalil, They don't need a center, but a team famous for finding bargains on the line will line him up at guard for a few years.
16) GB takes Dwayne Bowe, not that Farvre needs a great route runner, but the next guy will appreciate it.
17) JAX takes Tony Ugoh- shhhh possibly better than Joe Thomas, but don't tell anyone.
18) Cincy takes Tank Tyler and he'll be a good upgrade for their defense.
19) Ten- They look at Peterson, but take Levi Brown
20) NYG- They jump up and down, scream hysterically and quickly draft Peterson.
21) Den- Given the unfortunate recent events, I'm thinking they go CB here. Marcus Mcauley.
22) NE- Bill is drooling right now! He's got his choice between Laron Landry, Dwayne Jarret and Lamar Woodley. He takes Landry here, since he shouldn't have fell this far in the first place and hopes 1 of the other guys is left for pick # 28.
23) Dal- Another tough one. TO may stay if Parcells is going. They need a guard, but I don't think any of the guards are worthy of a #1 pick. Since Glenn is turning 32 and Crayton will be a RFA, I'm gonna pick Dwayne Jarret here.
24) KC- wanted a reciever here and Craig Davis fits the bill perfectly.
25) NO- Daymeion Hughes. Fred Thomas got beat for the big play once too often.
26) Jets - Lamar Woodley He fits the Jets system perfectly.
27) Philly- Michael Griffin They have no depth in the secondary and Griffin could be a future pro-bowler.
28) NE- Adam Carricker, The 300 lb DE is a good fit for Bill B's defense.
29) Indy- Paul Posluzny. Teams will stop running on every play when Poz starts bustin heads!
30) CHI- Joe Staley. At 300 pounds he's a little light. But he's played well at both tackle spots and was a TE before that, so he has great agility. The Chicago Line is getting pretty old.
31) BAL- Marshawn Lynch, Peterson falling hurts Lynch as well. He falls right into the perfect situation in BAL though.
32) SD- Robert Meachem, They could use a WR and Meachem is the best left.
Edited to add the second half. I've never done one of these myself before and it was kinda fun. The interesting thing this year is how closely packed the players are. The combines could really make a huge difference this year. The top 10 is pretty even talent wise and the bottom 20 isn't very far off from the top ten. The bargains in the second round appear to be at DL, S, and CB and there are still of couple of good RB's out there too!
Everyone feel free to flame me now.
