Rodney Harrison calls out Brady for complaining to the ref about a late hit. Ray Lewis had similar sentiments concerning the roughing the passer call. Thoughts?

He's absolutely right. EVERY time that Brady gets touched he turns right to the ref and whines for a flag. I actually thought about posting this thread earlier today before Harrison/Lewis made the comments.

He may be one of the all-time great quarterbacks the league has seen, but he's definitely the whiniest.

It was no doubt a bad call. But I have 2 observations:

1) EVERY QB and the vast majority of players for that matter will try to get away with a call whenever possible. Tom Brady's no worse than most at acting or whining for flags.

2) Rodney's trying too hard now. It's like he (or his producers) decided that his role in SNF is to make some kind of controversial statement. It's almost annoying at this point.

Well he was clearly joking with Brady but it's not Brady's fault the ref threw the flag. Now the call was terrible but IMO that was dirty of Suggs to go for his knee.

How often do WRs look to the refs and complain about PI. Or look at basketball, how often do NBA complain to get calls that may or may not have taken place. It's the refs fault, not Brady's.

Rodney Harrison (IMHO) isn't long for the broadcast booth. That said, I thought that roughing the passer call was RIDICULOUS.

Brady's not the one who threw the flag.

And didn't the flag come out before Brady turned around to look at the ref?

Actually Brady pleaded to the ref to throw the flag. The ref then shook his head, agreeing with Brady's plea and threw the flag. It almost looked as if Brady asked for it and the ref gave it to him.

Give me a break. Brady whines for roughing the passer calls 10x more than any other QB in the league, even though he gets hit 10 times less often. I can't remember the last time I saw him get hit and not immediately turn to the ref. Hell, I should start recording NE games and make a montage of it or something.

Harrison absolutely on point. Brady has become such a whiner, and the NFL just feeds the b.s. here.

Today was an embarrassment.

-Said the impartial unbiased Dolphins fan/Patriots hater.Ever hear of a guy named Peyton Manning? Phillip Rivers? Brett Favre? There's a lot of whiners in the NFL. Now YOURE trying too hard.

A lot of us are not Phish fans or Pats haters...and still a lot of us are sick of Brady being such a Nancy about this, and the NFL coddling him like he's their first daughter. Today's call was atrocious, and he was just begging the ref to throw the flag. Gimme a break.

My team affiliation has nothing to do with how often Brady turns to the ref and whines about a legal hit. He does it far more often than all those guys you listed combined.

It's why Brady and Belichick work so well together. They're both cut out of the same mold. Some would call it gamesmanship.......some, not all.

Again Brady didn't throw the flag. Players get up screaming for flags all of the time, of course since it's Brady and there are a bunch of Brady haters some people will make a big deal out of this.

Bottom line is it WAS a bad call, and the ref made it. Most QB's cry for flags every time they get touched, but this one is now news because of the replay and Rodney Harrison's comment. Happens all the time during games but because it's Tom Brady and he was called out on national TV now it's a huge deal.

This is not an isolated incident. Quarterbacks get tapped in the head or hit a millisecond late ALL THE TIME and don't say a word about it. But if you get your hand within 3 feet of Brady's helmet or hit him as he's releasing the ball, it's straight to the referee with puppy eyes.

Brady does whine to the refs a lot, but if you watch the replay, the ref was reaching into his pocket for the flag right away, so it is not like he wasn't gonna call it and then Brady talked him into it.

The difference is that Brady does it every time a defender gets near him. Other quarterbacks do it when they legitimately feel they got roughed.

Harrision brings nothing and will be gone after this season.

I totally understand Lewis being bitter after a battle.

Brady: Ref, he was trying to tackle me, u see that?

Ref: I got your back sweetie, here is a flag for you.

Brady: Whew, that was a close one, he almost touched me, thanks for protecting me.

What a F'N joke of a call, makes me hate the can't touch the QB rule.

You got a stat of that?
I have NFL Sunday Ticket, a pair of functional eyes, and Tom Brady on my dynasty squad, which means I see almost all of his passes.

It might have a little to do with your perception of how often Brady does it relative to those other QBs. They all do it...although I think Brees does it less than most but that's mostly because he seldom gets hit.

And does ex-Patriot Rodney Harrison hate the Patriots? Do the other people in this thread that have said the same thing hate the Patriots?I don't really even hate the Patriots. I certainly don't LIKE them, but I care far more about fantasy football than real NFL football so it's not really to the point that I hate anyone other than my fantasy rivals. And since I own Brady in one of my main leagues...

Brady and the Patriots seem to get alot of breaks and 2 of those "roughing the passer" penalties led to Patriots touchdowns if i'm not mistaken. Either way, the way the nfl is attempting to protect players, the qb position specifically, is really changing the way the game is played.

I have no problem with a QB whining to get a flag if it helps their team out. Also, I have a harder time coming up with QBs who don't whine then otherwise.

To think Brady is any worse then others is foolish.

Brady does have to take off the skirt. If you look to any analyst or expert, the Pats offensive woes have been attributed to Brady's lack of comfort in the pocket due to his knee. He needs to stop playing scared. Every one and there mothers get on the ref.

I guess I'm the only one who thought it was a good call. Suggs was coming in high and then went low at Brady's knees. He DID make contact, and the only reason it wasn't worse is because Brady was able to hop/slide out of the way.

DIRTY hit. Good call.

I didn't see a good angle on the Suggs play -- from the sideline shot, you can't tell if it was a hard hit or just grazed him.
