NFL Record for touches without a TD? (1 Viewer)

H.K.

Tiki has 124 touches and zero scores, just curious how much further does he need to go before he can break the record?

Used the DD to check and Marcel Shipp had 258 touches (228 rush & 30 Recepts) in 2003 with no TD's...but that is only for one season.

Barber is about halfway there already...is their any official record for consecutive touches without a score? This could be something to watch ove the next few weeks.

If Tiki got some goalline love, he would be hands down the #1 fantasy RB.

As an owner, the lack of TDs is frustrating, but you can't really argue with 200+ yards.

I think this week he gets off the snide with 2 TDs (1 rushing, 1 receiving).

Hopeful prayers.

I was about to chime in with a wise-#### comment about Marcel Shipp, so I am not surprsied he does hold the record. He is allergic to the endzone like some kids in my daughter's nursery school are allergic to peanut butter.

I don't know if Shipp has the record though, and I am not sure how to find it. You have to admit, Barber is on a heckuva pace, and with Jacobs' role, he could go a long time without scoring.

Similarly, anyone know (or know how to find out) the record for rushing yards in a single game without a TD?

as a giants fan who watches every snap, i can tell you its only a matter of time before he gets in the endzone. tiki's in the game in the redzone, but gets pulled occasionally for short yardage to keep him from sustaining a pounding. if it's 1st and 10 from the 12, he's in the game. if it's 3rd and goal from the 3, he's usually got splinters.

having said that, he's come awfully close a couple times, including this past week. if it comes down to crunching through the line, that's jacobs job. in fact, i don't think i've ever seen a RB take fewer hits throughout an entire game, given the number of touches he gets, than Tiki.

anyway, he'll finish the year with around 5-6 total TDs in my opinion. he breaks a lot of 15+ yd runs and several of those are bound to occur from inside the 20.

From week 15 of the 2002-2005 Marcel Shipp had 517 touches without a TD.

2005: 200 touches, 0 TDs

2004: DNP leg injury

2003: 264 touches, 0 TDs

2002 (last 2.5 weeks): 11 touches, 0 TDs

If this is a euphemism for number of times hitting on a girl but never getting laid, I have a few friends who are probably chasing the record.

Curtis Martin had a year in recent memory where he had a couple houndred touches before he finally found the end zone toward the end of the season. In fact there were threads asking this same quesion, in regards to CuMar though.

ETA: Just looked it up, it was 2003 -- Martin was the full-time Jets RB, but didn't score until Week 13.

Wow!

Not only is Shipp the record holder, but he's in twice in the top 10.

Impressively unimpressive!

While's Barbers yardage has been nice, he's killing a lot of fantasy owners with his lack of TDs. I expected him to have 8 TDs this year and at least 3 by now....I realize that's not a ton, but if Jacobs was not there Barber would be fantasy gold!
