Seems like a lot of people missed the point of the movie. It wasn't an action flick.I watched this the other day. I was entertained, but I really loved Moon, considered it more of a thinking man's sci-fi flick and I'm not sure I'd put this in that echelon. This struck me as mindless action absurdity, though well done, for the most part.
Early on I really thought the two dudes were gonna do itNTTWHBAWWT
Now I understand why the Weinstein's wanted to cut the movie by 20 minutes for American audiences:I very much wanted to like this movie, but it made very little sense.![]()
The goal, said TWC when explaining the request to Bong, is to make sure his film “will be understood by audiences in Iowa… and Oklahoma.” Weinstein also asked for introductory and closing voice-overs to be added in.
You may have to download it. It's on thepiratebay.Where am I supposed to watch it?
Yep, and he's a much better actor that I thought he was.Found the trailer, Captain America is in it?
I wouldn't go that far, but you missed the point. It's like watching 2001 and saying it's boring space movie. There you go, we're all stupid.
2001 IS a boring space movie.I wouldn't go that far, but you missed the point. It's like watching 2001 and saying it's boring space movie. There you go, we're all stupid.

The problem wasn't the length or that I didn't understand what was going on. I understood perfectly. The problem was that the premise was completely illogical. Now I understand why the Weinstein's wanted to cut the movie by 20 minutes for American audiences:I very much wanted to like this movie, but it made very little sense.![]()

It reminded me of a cross of Hunger Games, Children of Men, and something else I cant put my finger on.It is Bong's adaptation of a French graphic novel which reminded me of The Hunger Game... class system in a post-apocalyptic world.
He seems to rarely take roles that ask much, but I really liked London. Im a sucker for dialogue controlled films, but I thought it was quite entertaining for what it was (mostly Evans and Statham doing lines and talking in a bathroom at a party, IIRC)Yep, and he's a much better actor that I thought he was.Found the trailer, Captain America is in it?
Is that site illegal, and are there buffering issues?Watched it on youtubeonfire dot com last week.

It's now available on VOD. I'm one of those in the middle about it. Give it a B. Maybe even a B-. Props for an interesting setting and a fair degree of originality in the first act (though some of the more "original" aspects felt distinctly Lynchian). Went downhill a bit in act II and some of the special effects felt like they were a decade old. Tilda Swinton with a standout performance (really the only one in a pretty good cast).I just watched this and felt the same as the OP. I really enjoyed this movie. Checked it out on IMDB and its clocking in as a love it or hate flick. No one is really in the middle about it. A lot of 1 stars and a lot of 10 stars.
Worth the time to watch. At least it was something outside the box, and I'd recommend to all.
The point you guys are referring to isn't as simple as you're making in out to be. I've seen it twice now and liked it even more the second time.Exactly. Overhyped? This thread is the only place I have even heard of this film. Was it even in theaters? It's a The Raid: Redemption meets Hunger Games meets The Matrix Revolutions (The Architect) mashup
Was OK...Way overhyped IMO
