I was thinking that we should bring this back, 2007 style:

Don't expect Drew to garner more than 55% of the carries in Jax, and possibly as low as 35%. I'd be surprised by 8 TDs on 700 yds.

4. Ahman Green (veteran RB who many think will decline but shows that he has plenty left in the tank) - E.James. See Favre/Pennington. Steeler O coordinator and line coach turn a weak-link-line into undertalented overachievers and the skill position guys benefit. D is young and getting better. James has two good and one O.K. year left.

5. Thomas Jones (RB who holds off competition and ends up being a great value) - Edit to remove R.Brown due to Smokin' Ricky developments. Add L.White. Henry get some touches early in the year, but Fatdale shows that he is a starting talent after all.

6. Steven Jackson (Young RB who makes a significant impact) - J.Norwood - Dunn is on the decline. Another productive year is expected out of him, but he gives up the majority of the carries to Norwood this season. Norwood makes the most of his opportunities and makes the "big-back" coach an advocate. Outright #1 in ATL '08.

7. Brandon Jacobs (TD vulture) - McAllister - Not done yet, but Bush's talent demands more touches on top of his 75-80 receptions. Big Mac's power game is still too good to deny, and to save the punishment on Bush vs. 9 man fronts including 5 D linemen, 3 LBs and a S, McAllister garners 9 TDs on 550 yds. Bush would have gotten #6 for me, but how can a guy like Bush make much more of an impact than he already does.

8. Lee Evans (promising young WR who takes another big step forward) - S.Holmes. Last 4 games he started to look like a potential starter. Early in the year, he wasn't making the right reads on option routes, and was spending too much time in practice working on special teams. Late in the season, Big Ben was making a ressurgance and Holmes started catching his eye more and more. The last play of the Steelers' season was a game winning short-pass turned long TD by... guess who. That play knocked the Bengals out of playoff contention. That will stick in the minds of the staff and players.

9. Chris Chambers (promising young WR (although Chambers wasn’t that young) who many people expect to break out but ends up regressing) - A.Johnson - a not that young WR who finally had the breakout year two years later than everybody thought he would. One problem. Moulds was in last year, and demanded enough attention to allow Johnson to play his game. Out goes Moulds, and takes 25 of Andre's catches with him.

10. Joey Galloway/Terry Glenn/Eddie Kennison/Muhsin Muhammad, et al (veteran WR who many think will decline but shows that he has plenty left in the tank) - Issac Bruce. Finished very respectable last year after everyone thought Curtis was going to take his job by week 3. For a WR that was often drafted after the 10th round (I "reached" for him in the 7th) to finish top 25 is good. For him to do it several years in a row and still be drafted that late is stupid. He'll do a Rod Smith and keep this up for two more years, while everyone gave up on him two years ago.

11. Javon Walker/Laveranues Coles (for lack of a better example) (WR ranked anywhere from 15-30 in the pre-season who surprises even his biggest supporters and puts up monster numbers) - Mark Clayton - Mason was top 10 every year w/ McNair. Mason can't get to all the balls he used to, but McNair can still get the ball there. Mason was even top 5, but Clayton reminds me more of the old Mason than Derrick does now.

12. Kellen Winslow (TE who takes a big step forward) - Owen Daniels - 2nd year, 4th round pick is now paired with a QB who has spent the last 3 years learning that the best weapon in the passing game was his TE (Crumpler). It's Schaub's comfort zone.

5. Thomas Jones (RB who holds off competition and ends up being a great value) - Lamont Jordan, he'll be the clear cut starter for the Raiders and will be spelled by Rhodes occasionally. Bush may make an impact, on special teams.

6. Steven Jackson (Young RB who makes a significant impact) - Brandon Jackson. He may finish in the top 10 in PPR leagues.

7. Brandon Jacobs (TD vulture) - Eric Shelton. What!!! It just may happen folks.

8. Lee Evans (promising young WR who takes another big step forward) - Matt Jones, check his stats in his first two years. They are similar to Javon Walker's stats his first two years, except for TDs, but I think Jones makes the big leap this season.

9. Chris Chambers (promising young WR (although Chambers wasn’t that young) who many people expect to break out but ends up regressing) - Brandon Marshall. I just don't see it.

10. Joey Galloway/Terry Glenn/Eddie Kennison/Muhsin Muhammad, et al (veteran WR who many think will decline but shows that he has plenty left in the tank) - Keyshawn Johnson, he's going to go somewhere where he'll get the ball.

11. Javon Walker/Laveranues Coles (for lack of a better example) (WR ranked anywhere from 15-30 in the pre-season who surprises even his biggest supporters and puts up monster numbers) - Deion Branch, finally the main option on a team with a QB who loves his main target.

12. Kellen Winslow (TE who takes a big step forward) - Vernon Davis, he's FF's next big thing. Get him while is ADP is relatively low.

13. ADDITION: Minnesota DEF (Defense that comes out of nowhere to put up respectable numbers) - Green Bay

14. ADDITION: Drew Bledsoe (Vet starter, pulled midseason for younger QB due to poor play) - Jake Delhomme

15. ADDITION: Tony Romo (Young QB, gets his chance midseason, becomes "next big thing") - Brodie Croyle

16. ADDITION: Robbie Gould (unexpected top fantasy kicker) - Won't go mostly undrafted like Gould did, but I see an outstanding year from Gostkowski

1. Vince Young (young QB who takes a huge step forward) - I'm not sure I would use Young as the president for this as he was a rookie and in reality it was impossible for him to take a step forward in his NFL game. I'd say Losman/A.Smith are better examples. My pick goes to J. Campbell. He looked very poised in the action he received last year and will for the 1st time get to play with the 1st team offense on a regular basis. He's had plenty of time to digest the playbook (something he has never had the luxury of in college or NFL until now) and the weapons around him are all going to be healthy.

2. Jon Kitna (veteran QB who ends up being a great value) - McNabb, for some reasons I get the feeling that McNabb is going to be overlooked in FF drafts a bit this year. That would be a big mistake if so. McNabb is still one of the top 5 QBs out there and no team passes as much as Philly.

3. Cadillac Williams (young RB who many expect to turn into a stud but ends up regressing) - S. Jackson, OK, so maybe Jackson already is a stud. Still he is young and highly hyped right now. I see a rather strong regression coming up for Jackson this year in the passing game however. 90 receptions just isn't going to happen again. I'd expect closer to 50 as a matter of fact.

4. Ahman Green (veteran RB who many think will decline but shows that he has plenty left in the tank) - A. Green is a great potion for this in 2007 again. I'll go with J. Lewis though. Clev neglected to bring in the young RB everyone expected them to via the draft and that seems to be a reflection on how they feela bout Lewis IMO. Clev will run their 2007 offense around Jamal and he will surprise fantasy owners for a 2nd straight season.

5. Thomas Jones (RB who holds off competition and ends up being a great value) - Both C. Taylor and Portis get votes from me. Taylor for the obvious reason of holding off Peterson and Portis because the Betts hype has gotten to an apex. The major difference is that Portis is supremely more talented than Betts, yet Taylor is not as talented as Peterson.

6. Steven Jackson (Young RB who makes a significant impact) - T. Hunt. I just love the way this guys skill set fits into the Philly offense.

7. Brandon Jacobs (TD vulture) - The same guy who was the biggest TD vulture last year... Marion Barber III.

8. Lee Evans (promising young WR who takes another big step forward) - Willliamson. IN his 3rd year with correction to the sight problem I'm expecting some big strides for Troy this year. People really seem to forget that Troy was a "project" type prospect out of college (and that was widely known). Because of this, many are extremely down on Williamson. He gets open and looks to be the best WR on his team right now.

9. Chris Chambers (promising young WR (although Chambers wasn’t that young) who many people expect to break out but ends up regressing) - V. Jackson. I'm just to buying into this guy. He seems to be a WR1 by default in SD and SD already has 2 options they like throwing the ball to more in Gates and LT.

10. Joey Galloway/Terry Glenn/Eddie Kennison/Muhsin Muhammad, et al (veteran WR who many think will decline but shows that he has plenty left in the tank) - Coles. I'm not sure people expect him to tank, but they don't seem to be talking about him much.

11. Javon Walker/Laveranues Coles (for lack of a better example) (WR ranked anywhere from 15-30 in the pre-season who surprises even his biggest supporters and puts up monster numbers) - R. Brown. I think Brown is ready to become a WR1 in fantasy terms as well as NFL terms for Philly.

Minn has loaded up on a team that will make everything easier for the QB. Strong D, Great Oline and 2 capable RBs. This will allow Jackson to play within himself and look rather good.

12. Kellen Winslow (TE who takes a big step forward) - V. Davis. I was very down on Davis last year, but I think the addition of Jackson and the loss of Johnson are going to make things very opportunistic for Davis in a fantasy sense this year.

Ive seen 4 people name Trent Green as a good value vet QB. Am I the only one that thought this guy never looked the same after he came back? He had the body language of someone who didn't want to be out there.

I don't think he knew he was out there. Seriously, that guy looked glazed at all times after his return. Someone should hide his helmet, pads and playbook for his own good.

I just couldn't think of anyone else that fit the category. The only other one I could think of was Jeff Garcia, but I don't think he'll have as much success in TB as he did in Philly.

I've seen M. Turner as a TD vulture on several predictions, any reason why? LT is the best goal line back in the league and just set the record for the most TD's ever last year. He has terrific vision, rarely gets hit and almost always scores on the first attempt. Turner was on the team last year and they didn't use him in that regard the entire year, I haven't heard/read anything about a change in philosophy, so why would he suddenly start to get the ball at the goal line? :)

I think there is a little bit of confusion here.

1. Vince Young (young QB who takes a huge step forward) - I have seen alot of guys put in Vince young here. I don't know about your leagues but VY is being drafted as a top 5-7 QB or better. Are you saying he will be right up there with P Manning? I view this question as asking which young QB who is below the radar (ADP of QB12+ who will finish at the top of that huge second tier of QBs).

2. Jon Kitna (veteran QB who ends up being a great value) - You cannot put kitna here because his ADP is too high. He is going too high and will not finish that much higher than his ADP. The value pick is a guy in that 15-20 range who is going to jump into that range of QBs who are very startable. Good value.

3. Cadillac Williams (young RB who many expect to turn into a stud but ends up regressing) - I have seen MJD listed here several times. Is he going to regress, DUH, it is very very likely that he will not reproduce his 2006 TD production. But will he regress in the same manner as Caddy? Caddy was a first round RB in most leagues last year. He placed as RB41 in zealots scoring right next to Ron Dayne. That is a HUGE drop especially considering he was not sharing time. MJD will probly drop, but not as far as Caddy did. He will probly place as RB 16-20, but MJD also has much upside, especially if Taylor is injured in the first couple games.

5. Thomas Jones (RB who holds off competition and ends up being a great value) - I have seen several people put Clinton Portis in here. Portis is being drafted as a first round RB so how does he become a good value if he holds off Betts? The key to this question is "great value". Drafted portis as the 6 or 7th RB off the board and having him place top 10 cuz he held off Betts is not "great value".

12. Kellen Winslow (TE who takes a big step forward) - I think its hard to put Vernon Davis here just because people already view him as a top 5 TE. So even if he takes a big step forward, he is just meeting expectations. To me this question is look at who can make a huge jump. For instance a guy like Scheffler playing an entire season like he did the last 4 or 5 games would be a HUGE jump. I like the Owen Daniels picks here too.

VY was the first name that popped into my head when asked to fill this criteria: young QB who takes a huge step forwardHe's Young, and I believe he's going to take another huge step forward this year.If the original post had asked for this:(ADP of QB12+ who will finish at the top of that huge second tier of QBs).I would have probably said Alex Smith, although Smith also fits in the first category.

2. I somewhat agree, but haven't seen Kitna's ADP. If it's #7 (where he's ranked by the FBG staff) you're right. I just doubt that he'll go this high by August. As things stand in the FBG rankings, I'll have to change my vote to Ben.3. Your statements pertaining to MJD were the same said about Caddy last year. 5. Nothing wrong with putting Portis here (as I did), again, I haven't see ADP (and ADP doesn't mean much this early), but he's #11 on the FBG list. I see him as a potential top 5, so IMO, that's great value. Chester Taylor fits your definition better and might be a good answer too.12. Big step forward doesn't = great value. VD fits the question, as Bloom explained about VY.

No. In fact, the docs are saying he'll be back in time for training camp. Must be just a metatarsal or something. I'd only be worried about Graham now getting more reps.
