I think it's even less likely that the angel protected Matthias than Matthias was the target and self-protected.

You wouldn't think the new england sun could get this hot this close to the Canadian border.... but the combination of it beating down, the radiant heat off the pavement, and crouching this close to the engine had poor Spoofy sweating bullets. As he struggled to get the jack behind the drivers side front tire he heard the sound of a roaring engine approaching. He turned to look but alas it was too late.
The next to last thing he saw was the spherical front headlight of a Porsche 911. The last thing was a glance inside the windshield which revealed the gyrating, sweaty bare back in drivers seat obstructing the view of whoever was operating this vehicle.

As the porsche continues down the road the blonde's moans of ecstasy can be heard over the crappy German techno music. The driver, a distinguished German man in his 50's who is no stranger to driving while being ridden, holds the road well. That is, until a shot rings out and the passenger side front tire explodes.
Were they going the posted speed limit, and were the two passengers not engaged in coital acts.. they might have recovered. However, as it stands, the classic auto jerked abrupty sideward into a slide. As the tire ripped off the rim the steel on pavement provided sufficient resistance to overturn the vehicle into a violent barrel roll down the interstate... then off into the trees. It is there that the fantastic scene came to a crescindo with an explosion that would make Michael Bay wet himself. Nobody survives that.
"We got em!" could be heard from the treeline back where the shot originated, and a dark blue cruiser with "SPURBURY POLICE" pulled out. The car held several officers who were all cheering and high-fiving... but as they passed the explosion, Spurbury Police Chief O'Grady could be seen holstering his pistol and smiling from ear to ear.
DEAD ARE:
SINN : German Woman, INDY.
EG72 : German Man, INDY.

This morning Trooper Mac was in the Diner grabbing his usual coffee and donuts when he looks over to the jukebox and yet again sees a gentleman in a canadian tuxedo. "WTF is it with these canadians" he muttered the lifelong prankster. He strides up behind him and the guy turns around. Startled by who he discovers, Mattias, he can only muster "Is this the new uniform for you guys?" before dropping Matthias' denim pants for the whole diner to see.... Not TOO surprisingly, Matthias is really Spurbury Police Officer Smy BGRP. The humiliated officer angrily jerks his pants back up and storms out of the diner as the morning crowd roars in laughter.

Strangely for the second night in a row Dimpus Burger closed up shop early. Damn lazy kids. Hard to find good help these days...
