Pretty much counted on this to happen. Everything hinges on friday's practice, not today's. Until then it's hard to make any judgments.Ryan Mathews (ankle) missed Chargers practice Wednesday. The price for me to pick up Tolbert just went up threefold.
Sorry Ryan but...Does not compute."...has high ankle sprain....says he feels 'good'....hopes to play at Seattle."
I think it's not such a great matchup for Matthews or Tolbert. Sproles might be the play as the Seahawks are tougher against the run than they are against the pass. Of course if you're in a TD heavy league Tolbert might be worth a start on the chance he gets a short yardage TD or two.I'm thinking Tolbert is the safer play even if Mathews plays. Something tells me Turner is going to be cautious with Mathews if he plays, especially if the game is a blowout, and Tolbert gets a lot of opportunities this week. But this is only based on my gut feeling.Anyone else think this?
I think you're giving the Seahawks defense too much credit (I live in Seattle). Bolts should carve up the Hawks. However, if I recall correctly, Sproles is usually the one that kills Seattle. Still, I think Tolbert is a real nice play if Matthews is out.I think it's not such a great matchup for Matthews or Tolbert. Interesting. Other Seattle homers have been pretty effusive about how tough the Seattle run D is this year.I think you're giving the Seahawks defense too much credit (I live in Seattle). I agree, this could be similar to Ryan Grant saying he was fine shortly after a serious injury.I suppose every injury is different and everybody heals at their own pace, but I know I see updates on Russell Okung's high ankle sprain from time to time and he's already missed over a month. Of course he's got 3 bills on top of those ankles, but this could potentially be a lot worse than thought.Sorry Ryan but...Does not compute."...has high ankle sprain....says he feels 'good'....hopes to play at Seattle."

I agree. I think SD will slaughter Seattle, but its going to be Rivers carving up the secondary. Seattle is committed to stopping the run at all costs so far. Will that trend change? Perhaps, but I think Bradley and Carroll are really committed to forcing second and/or third and long situations as much as possible.I lean towards believing that SEA is a mirage until they prove it further, which may happen this weekend. But I'll bet on SD.
This is a ridiculous comparison (Ryan Grant). After Grant got hurt, he hobbled to the locker room and didn't return. Mathews ran out to the sideline in full pads shortly after his injury. Furthermore, a SPRAINED ankle is much better than a BROKEN ankle. The okung comparison is fair though!I agree, this could be similar to Ryan Grant saying he was fine shortly after a serious injury.I suppose every injury is different and everybody heals at their own pace, but I know I see updates on Russell Okung's high ankle sprain from time to time and he's already missed over a month.
