Was at the game, sitting in right field, Bruce never picked up the ball off of Rollins bat. He looked like a drunk sailor when he started for the ball and never found it... We immediately assumed the white towels played a huge roll in that play. Was anything mentioned on the broadcast?
Broadcast said he lost it in the lights.

Those white towel waving fans should be stopped. Plain and simple...it is dangerous for fielders and especially pitchers. Balls come off bats with incredible velocity and those white towels have to make it very difficult to pick up the ball. It needs to be stopped before someone gets hurt.

Glad to see Brandon Phillips make a couple errors. Punk.

Maybe Cueto can save the Reds by kicking several of the Phillies in the head with spiked cleats...for self defence of course.

Nice call by Dusty starting the series with Volquez. See you in 15 years Reds when you make it back to the playoffs.

stay classy cincy.
You don't watch much baseball, do you?
:lmao: poor shuke
In all seriousness, do you really think they were that dense as to throw at two batters in the same inning with a lead in the playoffs? Or are you just being emotional?
:lmao: it's a ####### joke. though i do think that the reds should leave the playoffs to the pros.
You drunk?

The Reds are definitely a disgrace for letting the Phils off the hook. With that said, I certainly don't believe that the Phils are unbeatable anymore. Can't wait for a Yanks/Phils rematch................

They don't. Reds were the better team and won the division. Doesn't mean I have to stop hating Cueto and Phillips.Dusty is a notorious moron. I don't hate him, he is just an idiot. However, we'd probably take him over TLR in a heartbeat.

Funny when contrast it with a center field back drop so the batter can see the ball.Broadcast also mentioned it's three years running that a similar play has happened in Philly. I think it qualifies as "cheating" when it impacts the play on the field.

Bruce and Dusty already said he lost it in the lights. And I don't think anyone was even waving their towels, why does anyone think they were?http://philadelphia.phillies.mlb.com/video...64&c_id=phi

Nice shot of the Reds fans just now waving their white towels while the Reds are in the field.

VINTAGE HAMELS

I chuckled when the one announcer said "the cincy fans are wondering where the best offfense in the NL is?" I dunno - in the opposite dug out?

Great season, crappy series. Hats off to the Phils.

I just hope this leaves a really bitter taste in their mouths (Cincy) and they come back hungry to get that taste outta their mouths, next season!

Because 45,000 of us were waving them like lunatics.Anyway, Congrats on round 1 win boys, who's next?

Reds now kinda seem like they are in a similar spot as the Phils in 07. Young strong lineup with starting pitching that wasn't quite good enough. I'm sure they'll be back next year.

Actually, the pitching for the Reds was pretty doggone good. Just the Phillies was unconcious. I EXPECT the Reds to be back next season. They need to improve in some areas (SS & LF, hello!), but the majority of pieces are there.

:lmao: On that video almost no one behind home plate or on 3rd base side is waving a towel at the time of the pitch. And no one behind Bruce(not that it would matter) when the ball is hit.

Good call.

Not that it would have changed the outcome but gotta love the idiot fans who'd rather have a souvenir than give their own player a chance to make the play. Take out a row of seats there, IMO.

I guess that it was ok, but Volquez really didn't have it. I think that the Phillies would have scored more runs if not for the no-hitter. The vibe of the game just felt like it all revolved around that performance. Though it would have been interesting to see how Wood would have done starting a game. Arroyo was ok and Cueto did pretty well. The other thing that was really similar to the Phils in 07 was the lack of any sort of clutch hitting, which I'd attribute at least in part to a young team being nervous in their first trip to the postseason. Now they know what it feels like and they should be better next year (though you should hope that you don't have to face H2O again.)
