I am pretty sure it has something to do with the way the schedule was tailor-made this year in case the lockout would have stretched into the season. I know that every game during week 3 is between teams that have the same bye week. Maybe week 10 needed to be avoided due to conflicts? not exactly sure.

Exactly.They had 3 weeks to toy with if week 1 was missed and start of season had to be pushed back.Every team loses their BYE weekpush Superbowl back 1 week and the above
