Taking the family up to the game tomorrow...what is the best option for parking?

Mall of America 'train'

Lake street 'train'

Park downtown

We've always parked downtown, but don't know if that is always the best option. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Park right next to the MOA at that second station where they have that giant park and ride parking ramp with the subway in it.(28th Ave S) Cops are always there during games and it's free.

That coaching staff is completely outmatched.
It's the entire organization. I just can't wrap my mind around the fact they put the season in the hands of a guy that can't even execute the easiest of passes on a consistent basis. He looks as bad as Kerry Collins. For everyone wanting to pile on the Vikes please just do it here. No need to clog the pool with tons of Viking hate like last season.

Thank God the Chiefs are next, but as the Chargers almost got bit trying to look past them, I'm not sure this team getting a 30-pt lead in the first half will win it for them.

Peterson should have easily had 100+ yesterday- maybe start with changing up the OC/playcalling duties and then plan for Ponder? KC and ARI are winnable games if they play a full 60 mins (guess you could say they all have been winnable if they had done that).

It's on the road. We know how this team plays on the road. We have to start Ponder at some point, but it's not going to happen until after we loose in KC. Local papers are all calling for Ponder. The thing that just makes me want to rip my hair out is when you hear Frazier talk he's intellectually honest and up front with exactly what this team has to do to win and why it looses, but then the game comes and it's a mess. I can not stress enough that the players are just not executing consistently on both sides of the ball. Still at the end of the day the buck stops at him.Even the idea of loosing this team to another state because they're terrible this year is just so nauseating. It's like a constant dark cloud hanging over this organization and it's a nightmarish reality that is rapidly approaching. :X

Childress offers sypathy, sees Ponder starting soon.

t's tough, I'm disappointed for the guys, disappointed for Leslie [Frazier]. They're finding a way to kind of lose, whether it's penalties or -- I don't know.
Speaking about McNabb, Childress said: "You know, he's kind of average right now. I don't know that he has a lot of guys making plays around him.
"I don't think they've had enough explosives throwing the ball down the field. It doesn't look like they can get up top on anybody."
Good God even Chilly is feeling sorry for us. :bag:

"No, no," Frazier said when asked whether he'd consider changing to rookie quarterback Christian Ponder. "We're not in a situation where I don't think we're going to make a quarterback change. We'll go back and look at this tape and look at every position and try to see what we can do to help every position do better than we played today."
Fraizer.. The season is OVER! McNabb is doing squat.. time to find out if Ponder is the future or not..

I was pleased when they hired Frazier. Seemed like it was finally a good hire.

That is apparently not the case.

Could Leslie be a Les Steckel "one and done" coach?

It's almost as if Frazier has been influenced from his time spent with Childress, doing dumb crap like over thinking things like the decision to give the ball to Herbart on 4th and 1 rather than just handing it to the best RB in the universe. The start of this season feels no different than the start of last.

If he doesn't start changing things up then  Starting 0-4 and still "backing your QB" is dumb.. It is over.. Give the Rookie a chance and let's see if he is the future or not.

I don't see many wins in the remainder of the schedule either. After the bye it gets brutal.

5. Cardinals

6. @Bears

7. Packers

8. @Panthers

9. --- BYE WEEK ---

10. @Packers

11. Raiders

12. @Falcons

13. Broncos

14. @Lions

15. Saints

16. @Redskins

17. Bears

The only teams they can beat are the Cardinals and the Broncos. Cam Newton might pass for 500+ yards against them.

It's officially time to pray to the heavens that we lose enough to get our first franchise QB since Tarkenton.

Obviously they didn't consider they'd be looking this crappy a month into the season, but how bad will it look for them to be the total suck and be 1st in line for Luck after having spent a first round pick on the next heir apparent?

If they start Ponder and he looks Colt McCoy-ish, and they're still picking first, are they still taking Luck #1? Trade down for more picks at their other needed positions (WR?)?

Trade Ponder (for a bag of chips at this point. Who knows once he's given some game experience) and take Luck?

My guess is CP comes in at some point, they win a couple few games including a season finale vs the Bears. They end up not being the "Suck for Luck" winners and it's all a moot point.

Like I said in another post, if you're in a position to take Luck, you're bad enough to not worry about what you did with last season's first round pick. And while I think Ponder is a sufficient QB, it would be absurd for them to pass on Luck.

Without question.Look at the Kolb trade. If Ponder looks even semi-decent and we still draft Luck and Luck does what we all expect we move ponder. Easy :moneybag:

I'm in the camp that thought McNabb might have some good football left but the few minutes they showed the Vikings he couldn't throw a 20' screen pass or a simple out. He looked terrible and then took a bad sack. I made a pretty big trade that included Harvin ... not good! That being said haven't thay had the lead and some sizable leads in 3 out of 4 games? If they close 2 of those games MINN fans would be feeling pretty different. I think they'll win some good games this year if McNabb gets it together a bit, too much talent on offense with Peterson, Harvin etc..

I was adamantly against the Frazier hiring. Minnesota needed to go outside the franchise for some fresh blood and new/creative ideas. Instead, Frazier is completely over-matched and seems to have no idea what he is doing.

With that said, Minnesota won't have the top pick in the draft. They have too much natural talent not to win 4 games this season.

Honestly, I would love to see Michael Floyd in a Minnesota uniform.

Do they have more natural talent than the teams remaining on their schedule have?It gets really tough after the bye. No cakewalk before either.

Looking at what's left on the schedule, I can't see 4- I think they already let 3 of the 4 slip out of their grasp at halftime.Michael Floyd may have talent, but he's had a lot of injury concerns. They need a deep threat WR, but they need a QB that can deliver it in stride before that becomes useful. Maybe Deion Branch, Patrick Crayton, or Josh Morgan after this year?

Listening to the Thursday's Audible this morning and the guys listed about 5 or 6 WRs they thought were AJ Green type talents. If that's the case, and if by chance they beat out/out suck Indy or Miami sounds like it may be possible to come up with a good 1-2 combo. Depending on a crap load of what if's of course.

I was crying for an OT over an 1st round QB in last draft but Rick Spielman had other ideas. And I don't hate Ponder but I knew unlike Speilman that the Vikings could end up 6-10 after this season. Speilman best excuse for picking a QB was that he did not anticipate the Vikings to be picking that high again this year. If things keep going the way they have then the Vikings will be picking in the top 5. Worse than I possibly imagined. I wonder what Speilman was thinking. OK my rant over and I fell a little better.

With all that being said, The Oline has below average talent and Vikings can't keep ignoring it. If we choose to draft a WR over Oline, he needs to have Calvin Johnson like talent.

Gut feeling: is this Ponder's job now? At 1-5, what do you have to lose.
It's not a lock just yet. I'd say without question it'll be by the week after they bye.He certainly showed great anticipation and pocket presence for his first time out. Horrible game though. :bag:

Key game coming up is at Carolina, that is a must lose. If we can take care of that one, its 1-8 with 7 games to go. THEN ANYTHING IS POSSSSSIBLE!!!!

Vikings #1 pick next year? - Matt Kalil, OT, Southern Cal
I would assume that would mean they had the 2nd or 3rd pick in the draft then. If St. Louis and Indy are ahead of them in the draft order, I hope they do everything possible to trade up as those two teams might be the only two bad teams in the league that would consider passing on Andrew Luck. But, Matt Kalil would be a great consolation prize.

Neither of those teams would take Kalil though. And I have no doubt that Indy would take Luck.

Yeah, Indy would probably take Luck unless they felt Peyton still had 4 or 5 years in him. Although they need a blindside protector as badly as the Vikings do. Teams like St. Louis, Carolina, and Miami are set at the LT position though, so likely a top 5 pick for the Vikings would get them Kalil, I agree with that.

Indy took Anthony Costanzo and Ben Ijalana with their first two picks this year. I doubt they'd take Kalil.

I don't know anything about Ijalana, but I forgot they took Costanzo. Yes, they probably would look elsewhere than LT. However, Arizona would replace Levi Brown in a heartbeat and Kansas City would slide Albert over to RT if they had the chance at Kalil. Although I also like the Martin kid from Stanford. He may end up being every bit as good as Kalil.

Agreed. But the Vikings have the tiebreaker over the Cardinals.

Is that good or bad at this point?

Will this be the best thing that happens to the Vikes prior to the draft?
To be honest I feel kinda bad being this happy at another man's misery. The draft looks like it could be stacked with very good WRs that we'll have a shot at in the first and second round. If we're sitting there looking at a top WR or lineman. I think I rather get the line help and wait on a WR, because teams just don't let good o-linemen go on the market.

The over/under on wins is 6, IMO. I think I'd bet the under.at San DiegoTampa BayDetroitat Kansas CityArizona at ChicagoGreen Bayat Carolinaat Green BayOaklandat AtlantaDenver at Detroit New Orleansat WashingtonChicagoWins against Arizona, Carolina, Denver, Washington, and one lucky one in-division.
Well. They're right where I thought they'd be so far.

What does this team even have?

A.P., Ponder, and Jared Allen are the only players worth anything right now. Even Percy Harvin doesn't look like anything more than a gimmick player.

I think the biggest needs are clearly WR and CB, with the o-line a close third.

It's bad enough having a so-so team, which boots early from the playoffs year after year. But to have perhaps the WORST team in the NFL? This sucks.

I really have no idea what we can do to improve. Better coaching? Players? Both I suppose. WTF.

Oh come on- they're at worst 3rd behind the Colts and Skins (and now I'd put the Chiefs behind them as well).

you forgot Greenway, although he's been largely invisible lately. I disagree on Harvin, I just think the coaching staff hasn't figured out how to best use him. I think the DL has some promise. I like the TEs. But yeah, otherwise, they're a complete shambles. The OL, WRs and DBs are complete garbage and the LBs are close behind. Winfield, EJ and Hutch are all done. This really reminds me of the 2001-2002 squads, just overmatched in nearly every phase. But this is more hurtful because the Packers are so good.Oh well, the team will be gone soon and then we'll be able to spend our time doing something constructive on Sundays. :banned:
