Best Fantasy Schedules for PK (1 Viewer)

Oddly enough, the range on points allowed is actually 4 ppg, so kickers could actually make a bigger difference than you would think. Not sure I would dump an established kicker to pick up someone off the wire, but that certainly is something to debate.

XP = 1 pt, FG = 3 pts, 40 yds = 1 pt, 50 yds = 2 pts

Well I officially blew my bye because of my "stupid kicker."

Any thoughts on Carpenter? He and the MIA defense and team altogether seem to be picking up steam. Ranked last on the above nonetheless.

Also - Bironas, with TEN's schedule and CJ coming on that might be pretty nice too.

Prater with Denver - Tebow seems to be getting the Broncos a lot of FG looks.

Hauschka (SEA) - vs StL and @ Chi weeks 14-15.

Here is the updated rankings after 13 weeks. This time I included the actual points allowed. On the surface, it does not appear that there is a slam dunk kicker to own for the playoffs.

Dont ever forget these things go in streaks. No kicker is going to score no points. There is a certain averaging to it.

Granted overthinking the kicker position is a danger because often luck is a big factor but I grabbed Neil Rackers in my original draft and have rode him all year. I have a really tough matchup this week to determine whether I make the playoffs or not and I am not feeling that good about Rackers this week.

With Houston down to their 3rd string QB and likely to be without Andre Johnson against a defense that has been stingy vs kickers this year I'm not real confident about the Texans chances to score a lot this week. Also he is playing outdoors in Cincinnati although the weather forecast currently looks ok.

I'm leaning towards going with Bironas this week. The Saints don't have a very good defense and have been pretty generous to kickers. Also, With CJ hot the Titans have been moving the ball a lot better lately. The only danger I see with Bironas is if the Saints blow them out and Tennessee can't kick field goals late because they are behind too much.

Hauschka was the play vs StL in week 14. 14 points. But Hanson was also nearly as good play. Bironas, just ok, didn't hurt ya.

Prater vs NE (good matchup for Tebow could lead to more chances?) - NE has been a poor matchup for kickers this year though.

Hanson @ Oak - Oak No. 8 FFPA for Ks last 5 weeks and all season, No 2 last 3 weeks; but on the road and on crummy Alameda field

Bironas @ Ind - 2nd best matchup after StL for the offense... but somehow Indy isn't giving up that much to Ks last few weeks, surprising.

Nugent @ StL - StL is No. 4 for kickers all year and no. 1 last 5 weeks; 4th most all year, 2nd most FG attempts last 5 weeks. Nugent put up 15 in my league last week, liking this one.

Hauschka @ Chi - I dunno, look Succop playing at Chi, 1 FG, and Prater had to hit 2 50+. At Chi, not loving it.

Rackers vs Car - Indoors, lousy Panther defense, Hou can move the ball but... not all the way with the rook. Car is No. 2 vs Ks last 5 weeks, no. 6 season long. Giving up an average of 2 Fgs and 3 EPs per game the last 5 weeks. Wade's out on IR so the defense gets chances.

Also, Tynes vs Was - The Skins are a fantastic kicker matchup. Tynes has gone 11 and 9 points the last two weeks too.

Maybe Rackers.

I think the real choice here is Nugent vs St louis and Tynes vs Washington. I picked up Tynes on the wire partly based on rankings from FBG (which has Nugent about 20 spots lower) Then Hermans rankings came out and Nugent is above Tynes.

Looking at the past 4 games:

Tynes for the season 15 fg's 35 pat's

Tynes: 6 fg's 10 extra points

Washington gives up: 7 fg's 9 extra points

Nugent for the season 25 fg's 28 pat's

Nugent: 9 fg's 8 extra points

St Louis gives up: 11 fg's 9 extra points

Nugents numbers would actually be better if 2 of the 4 last games werent against Balt and Pitt.

Looks like to me Tynes Has a better shot at getting you an easy 1-2 fg's and 2-4 epx Whereas Nugent is in the 2-4 fg's and 1-3 exp range. I think Nugent is easily the better play here.

A lot of love for Nugent lately, I get the reasoning though. In a dome against a bend-don't-break defense, and a team that will eventually concede defeat in the second half. I think he's a decent play too. But I chose Bironas because the Titan defense will be in the Indy side of the field all day, and will win the field position battle. Also, I don't have a lot of faith that whoever is the Titans QB can punch it in when given the opportunities. I favor Dalton's ability down low to the goal line better.

The CIN defense should provide lots of opportunities.Dropping Hanson and getting Nugent.

Kickers obviously take a little bit of luck to get right. I've been platooning Nugent and BArth much of the year and been pretty lucky going with teh home team. Got NUgent on for this week though for the matchup; hoping for the best.

dalton only gets 1 chance at scoring on goal to go series. its benson twice, as it has been for the last 3 yrs for cinci. thats why nugent has been great this yr and its why cinci wont be in the playoffs.

Been starting Akers all year, but I am worried about them playing Pitt. Would you look for a better option, like Bironas, or go with what got you there?

Can't see sitting Akers. Stick with what got you there unless there's an injury situation (Cundiff). Besides, it's always nice to have a guy going Monday night. Akers has been money all year.

As a Benson owner, that makes total sense to me. Your's and Saintsindome's take has me thinking of switching over to Nugent.

Good advice, I am going with this as well. I think san fran will be able to nmove well between the 20's but get stuck around the red zone.

I openly admit to not being an expert on kickers or having any idea if there is such thing as a "trend" in scoring patterns. Maybe each game is completely different with no correlation to any other game. That being said, the Steelers have only allowed double digit points to kickers twice this season with the other games mostly in "meh" kicker production.

Opponent FG FG FG XP FPBAL 29 30 0 2XP 8SEA 0 0 0 0 0IND 21 21 0 2XP 8HOU 25 0 0 2XP 5TEN 29 0 0 2XP 5JAX 46 45 0 XP 9ARI 0 0 0 2XP 2NE 43 0 0 2XP 6BAL 18 43 51 2XP 14CIN 43 0 0 2XP 6KC 41 49 40 0 12CIN 0 0 0 XP 1CLE 20 0 0 0 3
I might look elsewhere if I had Akers, even if he has been a top kicker all season.

I really doubt anyone did a pickup on Succop.

Hanson, my usual K during the year (mostly) had a pretty poor outing week 15. Akers, Bailey and Kasay did ok, but not great for them. Cundiff was horrible, that might have cost some folks a CG slot. Rackers did ok, but could have had a good game if he had made a 49 yarder - in fact he's had 1 missed FG in 3 straight games & 4 of the last 5 or else he would be on fire.

Nugent, Novak, Carpenter, Gano, Bironas all did pretty nicely. I added 5 points to my total score by switching from Hanson to Nugent. That's a 50 yard run for a RB.

Prater, Tynes were disappointing.

This week:

I am not sure Indy (Rackers) and Jax (Bironas) are as good matchups as maybe it first appears.

How are people feeling about Suisham vs StL at Pit? StL gives up bushels of FGs and K points, problem is Pit doesn't kick much, especially FGs (and they play on a poor field for Ks) and Ben has been replaced by a statue wearing his number.

Maybe Novak @ Det; or Hanson vs SD. Also, maybe Nugent vs ARI; Succop vs Oak.

Could Gano do it again, this time vs Min?

Since week 6, MIN has given up 39, 33, 21, 45, 27, 24, 35, 34, and 42 points.

In my league, BUF has given up 12 to Carpenter/Mia, 8 to Novak/SD, 13 to Bironas/Ten, and they are on an 8 game losing streak. Also possible poor weather in BUF. Prater could be good here.

So it seems to me the best bets are: Rackers, Novak, Hanson, Nugent, Gano, Prater.

Gano's gone 15/9/12 in my main league the last three weeks and is now going up against Min at home, that seems like as good a confluence as there is. I'm teeing up Gano I think.

The numbers represent the points allowed to PK by the team in the first column is facing. So WAS is playing MIN, who have allowed an average of 9.71 ppg to opponent's PKs this year.If we combine average points produced and average points allowed, we get . . .
Code:

So in a perfect world, that last column would be the projected score for each kicker averaging what the kicker has scored (on average) factored in with what the defense has allowed (on average).

I'm liking Bryant indoors on Monday night at NO. And Rackers at Indy indoors too. Prater at Buffalo could be good as well...

The weather is gonna be ####ty this Saturday, and there are only 6 kickers that get the protection of a dome. Of those, only Vinatieri is available in my league. My waiver move at PK is Gano. At home against the hapless Vikes. GO GANO!

The Ravens just signed S. Graham today as Cundiff has pulled up lame. Graham another possibility off the waiver wire. He did a nice job earlier this season for the Dolphins, got me 13 pts the one week I used him. The matchup is nice. Might go with Graham.

I saw that; pretty interesting development.Graham was very good filling in for NE at the end of last year too.

Hanson's offense is killing him right. It's either a big play TD or nothing because the ground game just doesn't sustain drives. I might be getting my Gano on as well in a great matchup. GO GANO!

Novak vs. Rackerscoin flip?
I have the exact same decision, and I have Rackers in there based on a couple of things. Indy figures to have trouble sustaining drives, which should give the Texans some short fields where they are already close to FG range. Also, the Chargers will likely need TDs and not FGs to keep up with the Lions. Now for the monkey wrench: Rackers just showed up on the injury report (right calf), but he practiced fully yesterday.Anything to be concerned about? We get bonus points for FGs over 50 yards. I would hate for Kubiak to not put him out there for long FGs because of the bum calf. I can't find any additional info on the innerwebs.

Saw that about Rackers as well. Not sure what to make of it. I haven't seen anything else either. Am a little concerned and have considered switching him out today for someone else.

Just added Matt Bryant. It's always hard to tell and Bryant is a little risky because ATL doesn't always kick a lot of FG's, but it's in a dome which I like and it's two teams that need to probably score into the 20's to win.

I stuck with Rackers. Actually didn't have a choice. Was traveling and didn't have time to make the change, so he was stuck. I'll take 11.

Saints vs. Falcons always seems to be a field-goal fest. Wouldn't mind having either Kasay or Bryant come Monday night.

 I'll take double-digits from a kicker all day long!But how'd you get 11 and not 10?
