the most shallow franchise is much deeper than the most shallow letter of the alphabet. Not sure this is going to be all that different from an all-time draft (1903-1992, of course)Had the same problem in the Alphabet Soup draft.![]()
I think it's pretty much BPA, but be careful burning a deep franchise. Unfortunately for me and my crappy dice roll, I do think the top 6-8 teams have a big advantage In This Format.Any suggestions on how the #### to figure out who to draft in this thing? My head is spinning trying to figure out whether to go with ####ty franchises early, so as to grab one of the few good players from them, or just go with best availabel and worry about filling in spots later.![]()
I'm really struggling with what strategy to use.
Sure, now I get a good roll.1d1000, rolled once.EDIT: Arsenal and jfranco will have to have a roll-off. Shoot me another roll as soon as you can.

a) We didn't get enough on board in favor of the DH, so we'll just stick with our usual "no DH" scheme.b) Kind of a mixed bag on "full seasons only" vs "full + combined seasons". How's this for a compromise -- "combined seasons are OK so long as the player in question actually played a full season for the team at some point"? An example: it would be OK to use Cliff Lee's 2009 combined season (CLE/PHI) for the Indians, since Lee played several full seasons for Cleveland. However, it would not be OK to use Lee's 2010 combined (SEA/TEX) as your Ranger or Mariner, since Lee never played a full season for either squad. Similarly, you couldn't use Adrian Gonzalez or Hanley Ramirez's combined 2012 seasons as your Dodger, but those 2012 seasons could be your Red Sock or Marlin, respectively.'Doug B said:a) To DH or not to DH?
b) To use ONLY full seasons, and no combined partials?
sounds complicated. let's just do the usual full/combined.All right, time to firm up some rules.

just adds complexity to the search process. just make it one or the other.b) Kind of a mixed bag on "full seasons only" vs "full + combined seasons". Um ... fixedWe can keep dice rolling in this thread. I'll start an official WIS XVI draft thread tomorrow Thursday.
I agree with this. Hope it's not a dealbreaker for anyone.Let's just do the usual full/combined.

Just to clarify...would this mean Hanley could be a Dodger or no?I agree with this. Hope it's not a dealbreaker for anyone.Let's just do the usual full/combined.

Historical leagues are tougher to research and draft than Back to the Future leagues but managing them within the sim is much simpler. I think a noob owner in a BTF format would be at a disadvantage because it involves more roster juggling to avoid fatigue, defensive gaps, etc.Sounds good. depends on the speed of round 1.If its fast? Clock starts tomorrow.Need the house to chime in:
Are we good with the clock starting as soon as tomorrow morning? Or we do need to hold off on the clock running until next Monday morning?
Picks can be made before the clock starts running, of course -- our usual custom.
...
Proposal to keep the stadium draft moving -- what says the house?
Stadium picks must be made at the same time and order as we make our second-round player picks.

We've always done no skips in round 1, that shouldn't change.
These are traditional for good reasonI say clock starts running at the begining of the begining of the second round. That way no one is skipped in the 1st and everyone has done a little research and made a pick.eta: Staduim with 2nd pick is a good call.
