Electronic Cigarettes (3 Viewers)

Plus, Ohm's Law gives you a result in AMPS, not watts when you perform the V/R equation. I'm certainly no electricity expert, but I have found VW more helpful than VV when trying to dial in a flavor.
This chart seems to be a good guide.

I am getting a VW device next week (Itaste MVP 2.0 on the way), so I'll check it out. The thing that is nice about VW is that you can lock it in to your vaping desire and get around the same heat and result when you change the topper out. The convenience part of it seems like the biggest benefit no?
Yes, as the battery power drops, it will automatically adjust the output to keep the vape consistent. I find it super easy to get it right where I want it and keep it there without having to futz with the voltage, etc.

Yeah I do like the VW a lot, allows me to dial in the warmer vape I like, without all the fiddling. Funny thing is at 9.0 watts on my itaste MVP 2.0, it is perfect and I can't replicate the same vape on my itaste MVP 1.0 even trying to dial in the voltage. So yeah, variable wattage is an upgrade so you were right EG72.

RY4 has changed the way I vape, more than VW. Absolutely adore this stuff and I've tried some different ones now.

Vaproknoll Our-Y4, ECBlend RY4 and HHV Heavenly Tobacco are all outstanding. What I like is they are all exceptional, yet different. The ECBlend RY4 is the sweetest with the most caramel, the Vapor's Knoll one is very balanced, and the HHV version has that Halo Tribeca kettle corn taste, but much more in the background. Very well blended juice. I like Tribeca also but it is a bit overpowering. Some of the other RY4s I've tried are meh, but vapable. MFS has a decent one, V4L's is just ok.

Just ordered the famous Hangsen RY4 and a Mad 4 from madvapes, those both get good online reviews. The Hangsen of course, is pretty much the standard in RY4s so I'm really looking forward to testing that one.

I can't speak highly enough on e-cigs.. Been off cigarettes for three months, after trying and failing for 18 years, and now I'm effectively off the e-cigs as well.

Thanks Dr D

Chantix got me off of tobacco 5 years ago, after 33 years of smoking.

FTR I'm actually mostly off ecigs now--maybe hit one every few months. 40 year smoker before finding this thread a couple years ago, 2 pk+/day.

The Hangsen RY4 is awesome, and just $4.25 for a 30ml bottle.

NOt sure if anyone has ever tried Allusion, but they are really top shelf. The fragrance alone of the various liquids makes you want to take a shot of the juice. Caramel Wild Wood is a top 5 juice I've tried, incredibly good. Smooth Criminal is tops also and thyy have a bunch of Natural Extracted Tobaccos to choose from.

I'm not a mod chaser at all, my two MVPs, Vision Spinner, and my eGo batteries are good enough. Couple of Carto tanks, some EVODs and a Protank are good juice vessels. I am a juice whore however, becoming a connoisseur of sorts I suppose.

Five months with no cigarettes, this thread was the beginning of the journey.

I accidentally bought some VG juice instead of my usual regular juice and its too thick for my tank/cartos. Whats the best way to fix/thin this? If it was only 1 bottle I wouldnt worry about it, but its 150ML's. Ive read about using distilled water/vodka, but how much should I add for 150 ML's??

I used to have to drive for about 45 mins if I wanted to go to a brick and mortar ecig shop. This place opened in September, but I just found it a few weeks ago, and it's barely off my route to school. Decent juices, nice people, and a good selection of equipment. Wayyy past time for a place to open in this county (one of, if not, the most populated counties in Georgia). Stoked.

Use vodka or everclear. Start at 5% then maybe move up to as much as 10%

Thanks. I have five 30 ML's bottles. Do you think its best to just put them in 1 container then add the vodka(cant buy everclear in VA)?

Okay, so I started on pg. 1 of this thread, made it to four or five, and then skipped to 63 or so. Just wondering what someone would recommend for a basic rig. I bought Blu cigarettes, but they don't seem to do much -- they only make me want a cigarette even more. I've read the post about the Kanger tanks, but I'm wondering what else I would need, or what would be a rig that would give that mouth/throat feel that everyone is talking about.

Thanks in advance...

Didn't know about the Loganville one. I do a trivia gig in Loganville on thursdays, so i may have to check that out.

No. You really only need to add 1.5-3ml per bottle. I'd rather keep them in the 30ml bottles

I was never really able to get into the e-cigs... but I thought I'd stop in and say that today is 14 days without a cigarette :)

Since it was bumped....

I don't know exactly how long it has been and I may have posted some kind of timeline here but these things worked for me. Haven't had a real cig in almost 3 years and you couldn't pay me to have one. Went from cheapo's to Blu after awhile and around July of this year I changed from the Blu with nicotine to the ones without. By Sept. I didn't even need or want them anymore and haven't touched them since. I still have the Blu pack and chargers and could pick up a 5 pack whenever I want, but I just don't feel the need.

Since I haven't touched it, I've been to a few drinking events, hosted a few poker games, played a few rounds of golf - all the stuff that would be my absolute triggers for nicotine, and I haven't even felt the need to wonder about a cig. Now I will grant that I still will fire up a cigar because, well, if I can't have that then really life loses some meaning, but cigs in all their forms are dead to me and I feel great about it. These things really did work for me.

You're where I'm hoping to be soon.

This new NYC law is going to be a major PITA if I'm still vaping when it goes into effect.

There's really zero incentive for anyone to push e-cigs as a cigarette cessation tool, besides the small-time e cig producers. Meanwhile, I may have smoked a pack in the last 4 months after being a pack a day smoker for 17 years.

How many cigarettes do you smoke? What kind of cigarettes do you smoke? How much are you willing to spend to get started? Do you have any brick and mortar stores where you live? If you give me the links.

Do all that and I'll walk you through it.

Anybody come across and new, interesting stuff? About to get reacquainted with my ProVari after a long layoff and was wanting to see if there's be any gamechangers that have come out in the last five months.
I think the Semovar is trending, as are the Kayfun 3.1, Kayfun Lite, and the Russian 91 rebuildables.

I just purchased a Kayfun clone from Fasttech, probably take about a month and change to get here but it's worth it to save about $60. From what I read the clones are identical to the real thing.

I'm still not a mod chaser after sixth months, my MVPs and Vision Spinners are still good enough for me. I am however, a certified juice whore. I'm almost getting to the point where I can break down flavor profiles into the smallest parts, it's quite fun. Trying two new vendors a month but my two main vendors are Heather's Heavenly Vapes and ECBlend. Love AVE, Halo, and Ahlusion as well.

Thanks, Dr. D. I smoke about a pack a day, if not more. Camel Lights, but I'll pretty much smoke any cigarette if I'm desperate. I'm willing to spend fifty-hundred bucks to get started. There's a B&M about an hour and a half from me, but the website keeps crashing my computer, so I can't really link it. (I've typed this message three times, actually). There doesn't seem to be much in CT. We have a chain of Discount Smokers Worlds up North here, and they tend to dominate the marketplace. I'll check to see what they have in the way of vaping. So...I'll do more research. Right now, I have no problem ordering online. If you've got any ideas or good web sites from which to do so, I'm more than amenable to that.

So, thanks again. That's the basic info.

Ok, I compiled a post that went through some of the thing a noob needs. This should help address anything I don't here.

There are lots of juice providers. I would recommend Heather's Heavenly Vapes for your first order. They have sample packs so you can try anything from the list you think you'd like, but they specialize in tobacco vapes.

I was going to recommend you go to Discount Vapors for the kit, but I see HHV has about the same kit for about the same price. It is the Kanger EVOD Kit, and it's very simple and effective for a new vapor. Just keep your extra battery charged and on you at all times!

Here are their tobacco juices:

Legend; Extracted pipe tobacco

Huntsman: Earthy tobacco that to me is very cigar-like. I've heard this one described as "Turkish" also.

Heavenly Tobacco: Is an RY4 which is the most popular tobacco juice. It's one part Caramel, one part vanilla and one part tobacco. This is my favorite.

Dragon's Fire: Extracted tobacco with hints of chocolate, this is my second favorite from them

They also have Pirate's Booty, Serendipity, Heavenly Army and Blade. Check out those descriptions.

Go with 18mg for your strength. I was a pack a day Marlboro Light smoker, 18 was fine for me (I went to 12mg thereafter, and still vape 12mg).

You can go 50/50 PG/VG to start with the tobacco juices, if you choose a fruit or bakery juice (recommended), go 70% PG.

Nothing can replicate a cigarette, get that in your head now. There is no head rush, but you maintain and after the first week or so you get used to it. There are Turkish blends out there which might be good for you. Halo has great tobacco juices also, and Torque 56 is supposed to be the closest thing to an analog FWIW. I no longer want analogs, so I'm not interested. I do like the tobacco vapes though and I really do enjoy vaping more than smoking, and I liked smoking.

Anyway there are a ton of juice vendors out there. HHV is middle of the road on price, ECBlend adn Mount Baker Vapor are the cheapest but they don't specialize in tobacco blends at all. I don;t like the MBV base, ECBlend to me is the best juice for the money. AVE, HALO, Ahlusion, Virgin Vapors, and so on and so on. So many good vendors out there, depends on what you like.

If you get that kit and maybe a couple of 15ml bottles of something, then a sample pack you can do the testing and what not. Again, get some juices other than tobacco flavor. At HHV the Blueberry Muffin and Double D watermelon are both excellent choices.

Good luck!

Thanks, Dr. D. Bookmarked and noted. Will start with the EVOD and go hit-or-miss on the juice. It's going to be cheaper -- as you pointed out -- anyway. Heavenly Tobacco sounds like the juice to start with.

I don't know where you live, but I balked initially at the $150 start-up cost...until I realized at $9.72 a pack I needed to make it 16 days to break even. Now, after 120 days, I've probably saved 800 bucks. It's amazing how quickly your wife can spend extra money.

Do you have experience with the rebuildables? I remember when they were getting hot I just scoffed at the notion but it seems like those things are where it's at right now.

Also, what are some of the recommended flavors from ECBlend? I'm looking to get a couple 50 ml bottles from them.

It was at Monterrey Mexican restaurant in Loganville. If you take Rosebud to athens Hwy and make a left, it's almost immediately on the right in the Kroger shopping center. Last week may have been the last one, tho. not sure if they want to continue in the new year.

I have two Nimbus clone drippers but this will be my first foray into rebuildable tanks. I've heard great things about these though so hoping for the best.

Depends on what you like as far as ECBlend. Can't miss juices are the RY4, Dragon's Crown, White Peach Ala Zoe and the Seven Leaf Hopscotch. the Seven Leaf Hopscotch is in the Boba's Bounty family, very interesting juice but it is a tobacco. Anything from the Dragon's line is good, I do extra flavor with all their stuff but no double flavors. I've tried over 100 juices from 20 vendors now and Dragon's Crown is probably my favorite.

I tend to stick to the tobacco and hybrid tobacco flavors, mainly. I noticed on the ECBlend site that steeping is sometimes necessary. Have you found this to be true? Is it a case like Halo juices to where it tastes like hairspray right out of the mail?

Trying two new vendors a month but my two main vendors are Heather's Heavenly Vapes and ECBlend. Love AVE, Halo, and Ahlusion as well.
Do you have experience with the rebuildables? I remember when they were getting hot I just scoffed at the notion but it seems like those things are where it's at right now.

Also, what are some of the recommended flavors from ECBlend? I'm looking to get a couple 50 ml bottles from them.

Not on the tobaccos. Just let cap sit off for 24-48 hours and maybe steep five days and you're good. The RY4 is great right out of the mail. If you are gonna try their juices, try the Spicy Ry4 also, it's pretty interesting.

Getting back into this, but it appears I'm rather outdated on my technology now. I've got the Reo Grand and was using LR306's. I'm going to have to stock back up on some atty's and Boba's as I only had about 10 ml of that left. Thinking I should go ahead and grab one of these Reomizers rather than grabbing some more atty's, but tossing a cartomizer or clearomizer on this also seems pretty interesting. I managed to come across an ego style battery and a couple of clearomizers that are loaded with other stuff right now, so I'll probably give those a whirl on the Reo when they're drained of that substance.

I also got an RBA with this Ego battery, but it's not a bottom feeder and it looks like it's 3.0 Ohms from my multimeter... wonder if I can just toss this on top of the Reo and use it drip style to see it it's something I'd like. Is a 3.0 atty going to work well at 3.7V?

Not likely, you probably need something 2.3 ohms or below. Worth a shot though.

For eGos the Evods, iclears and protanks work best.

Fell off the wagon in December...been smoking like a chimney...I know its because I went to zero nicotine, so I ordered some nic and am gonna try to get back on the juice.

Sucks, but it is what it is...they worked for me before so I know they will again.

Thanks. Looks like the ones I have are CE4. Once I start going down this route, I have a feeling I'm going to be springing for a Provari.

Alright, went ahead and got the Reomizer 2.0. It appears that this is going to kick some serious ###.

The Provari is still rather tempting to me, but I'll see if I can get away with $50 instead of spending a couple hundred for now. I'm not much for screwing around and I like the fact my Reo is built like a tank, so I know if I want to go with the more "Ego style" I'm going to want something that's similarly indestructible. Main thing that's steering me towards the RBA other than price is that I'm seeing mixed reviews on these 100% VG juices like Boba's in the clearomizers. I've always found it challenging to get this going with a $9 atty because of the thickness - you're always toeing the line between flooding or getting a burnt hit. Sounds like you often run into the same problem with a clearomizer.

Hope this doesn't take too long to get here. I'm out of Boba's but I have a shipment on the way and have some Strawberry Cheesecake to tide me over. But I'm also running short on atty's. The beauty of the rebuilable atty - you're never actually out. :) I should have just pulled the trigger on this last week, but I'm too anal and spent too much time getting myself current on this technology again. I always do this and then I'm at the mercy of ship times - yet another plus for the RBA.

Can you source parts for the RBA's at a local hardware store? I figure I could turn this 3.0 Ohm RBA into something more like 2.0 if I could get the wire and some wicking materials. Even just the wire would do. Still not going to want to use this on the Reo thanks to it not being a bottom feeder, but it could keep me running until the Reomizer gets here should my current atty problem become a real issue.

My brother is using the REOmizer with his Grand and loves it. He's mastering the art of the rebuild and has his resistance down to 1.1 ohms. Surprisingly, even running at 3.7V, it doesn't taste burnt or anything - great vapor production too.

It shorted my Reo, heh. I think I need to put a rubber o-ring between the bottom of this and the Reo to keep it from doing so. It wasn't actually producing anything and I noticed a spark when I touched the battery. Nothing major as far as damage, but I compressed the spring a little and now the battery is a little loose so I ordered up a couple of new springs along with a full Reo repair kit just in case I do anything else dumb and just general protection from equipment failure. Still working though, it's almost better since it's easier to get the battery out now, but I guess the spring is part of the safety mechanism to keep shorting from doing major damage so I do really need a new one. It did its job once, it might not again. Oh well, I learned a little in the process, now I know how to test for shorts before I put a battery in and go firing things (gee, what a great idea stupid me). Probably a pretty worthwhile thing to know if you're going the RBA route, but I probably could have had the same thing happen with a defective atty. And having a set of spare parts is probably a good thing too.

I tossed it on the Ego and it's producing pretty nice sized vapor even with the 3.4V coming off of that. It's missing some in the way of throat hit and flavor, but it's producing clouds of vapor... Wicking well though even with these thick liquids so far which is something that's been entirely elusive to me. So I guess I've got enough equipment to keep me in business until the Reomizer gets here. If this thing is any indication, I'm going to love the Reomizer with a lower resistance coil (and with all of the other benefits the Reo brings).

Loaded up on the silica wicks and Kanthal wire of various gauges since I was grabbing the Reomizer anyways. I should be able to spend almost nothing on atty's now and be impervious to equipment failure so long as I keep a couple Ego batteries, this drip RBA for it, and then the Reo with the Reomizer and spare parts. Now all I need is to keep juice stocked. Alright, this setup might actually keep me from falling off of the wagon like last time.

Mostly looking for tobacco blends. On the analog side I'm doing American Spirit Yellows. Haven't found one that I really like outside of Boba's which isn't really a true tobacco flavor, but I'm hopeful that the Reomizer will bring out some flavor I've been missing. I don't mind strawberry cheesecake or some of the lighter fruity ones, but once I start getting too fruity my tongue feels like I've been sucking on sweet tarts for an entire day and I can't do more than a session or so on it.

Thinking about trying some of these ones from Indigo. Looks like The Duke and OOHRAH! both get some great reviews and are probably similar to Boba's.

Juices are my thing. Tell me your flavor profiles and I can recommend vendors and specific juices.
How do I tell you my flavor profile? I like tobacco bases with full, rich flavor and a strong throat hit.
Yeah, this is mostly what I'm looking for as well.

I could also do with some weed flavored ones - like a dank tank but with nicotine instead. Have to say, those are really tasty. Anybody make those?

You guys still like the tobacco flavors after vaping for 3+ months?

The only time I use tobacco is when I cut it about 50/50 with vanilla.

My current favorite is blueberry pie from gotevape.com
