Frosty, any thoughts on the St. Mary's-Hawaii game tonight? i watched a bunch of that game last night while wrapping [resents, and Hawaii looks pretty bad
My first thought when I saw -3 was St. Mary's immediately, but then I remembered how I don't #### about St. Mary's so I didn't really look at it any further.

Breaking it down, I'm still going to say St. Mary's. The Gaels defense basically encourages teams to shoot 2-point jumpers, and Hawaii is one of the heaviest 2-pt jumper teams in basketball so it all comes down to if they're going to make them and if they can stop St. Mary's. It is unlikely they can stop St. Mary's unless they can cause a bunch of turnovers, which is certainly possible. So it's kind of a mess (which is why my official play is "no play") but if St. Mary's is the better team they should cover the -3. I think they're the better team, so I would lean Gaels.

And I might as well play them.

alright, in  . i just know that neither team impressed me at all last night when i was watching, and Hawaii looked worse. of course i don't know #### about CBB, but i have a feeling i'll be up for a bit again tonight

Speaking of gambling movies, anyone see Runner Runner? Have that on tap for tonight.
In, forgot about this one.

Downloading now.
Stream it here if it's a long d/l.

Thanks boss, BitTorrent already finished so I'm all set. Definitely bookmarked this site for future use, didn't know it was even out there. The more you can know the better.

Posted in the Apple Jailbreak thread my already failed project to JB my Apple TV, since I upgraded the OS about a month ago. :wall: Wanted to start firing up IceFilms right from the box, and just never got around to JB'ing it. We'll get there once they put out a JB for iOS 7.

Apple TV is still awesome for dual-screen mirroring, which is exactly what I do currently. Hit AirPlay from the Mac desktop bar, drag the movie over to the TV, .

Works for all media types. :pickle:

In. Vacation day tomorrow. No reason not to stay up for this one.

I'm 8 minutes into that flick and I dig it already.
One of my GB's bought a Mustang for cash from PartyPoker winnings back when we were in college in the mid-2000's. Can't wait to watch this once this game is over, basically the same thing less the trip to Costa Rica +.

Wow, these NFL refs just have no idea what to call or what not to call with unnecessary roughness calls. Douglas get suplexed after the play with everybody watching, and the refs just kind of stare and leave it at that.

True insanity when touching a QB gets you 15 yards, but you can literally suplex a guy after the play, and it is all good. I just can't tell who is to blame for this

Help me take off my homer glasses, but the Bills look crazy good this week.

They have one of the best pass Ds in the league. WHAT? Look at the stats.

Ypg 5th best

Ypa tied for 6th best

Pass completion % 1st

INTs 2nd

Sacks 1st

The last is most important, how do you beat Brady, with pressure from the front four. Their four best have 43 sacks combined.

The Bills weakness is rush D, where they are slightly below average.

On the other side, NE has the 3rd worst rushing D, giving up 131 ypg, against the Bills 2nd best with 142.5.

It all adds up to a close low scoring game with lots of running.

Lastly, the line has moved bigtime on the Bills on gameday the last two weeks. Against Jax it was pk on Sat and moved to Bills -4. Against Mia it was Bills +2.5 when I punched Sun morning and pk when I checkd later. Any good sites to verify this.

I think the Bills are under-rated by the public and the Pats getting credit for beating an ave Bal team that couldnt exploit the Pats weakness (Bills will)

I think the Bills can win this one.

This thing went right into the toilet as soon as Affleck appeared, which is about 12 minutes in. He has Timberlake escorted out of his party when the latter accuses Affleck's gambling site of cheating. The next day, JT is summoned to Affleck's yacht, where he is offered an 8-figure salary because JT is such a smart fella. This after a 4-minute conversation.

I'm struggling to finish this.

and note to self, I'm not going to bet against Hawaii when they are playing in Hawaii again. It seemed kind of tilted toward them last night against Boise St., but it was the same thing tonight with any player from Hawaii driving the lane getting love from the refs. I'm sure i am biased because my money has been on the other side, but i'm cool with that as well

It has been a lifelong (well, gambling life long) battle for me to figure out road teams at Hawaii. Back in the early 2000s my buddy and I shared an account and blindly bet Hawaii in every home game and that went well. Then things adjusted and stopped going well. If I was smart I'd never bet on their games on either side, but they're always so conveniently late that I can't help myself, I just haven't figured out how to figure their home court advantage.

 Would love to somehow switch them with some other team that was a little more reliable, but yeah they are great for some late night action. Just have to figure out if they any good or not. They can't stop talking about that Standhaardinger kid, but man I just don't see it

I actually thought this was entertaining, was just coming in to post that I enjoyed it.

I am, however, easily entertained and get your point. I "play to the competition" when I want to veg out on a movie/TV show.

Yes, absolutely.

When I handicap games I almost exclusively use stats, styles of play, and personnel to decide what should be a play. It is rare that I use emotion or other intangibles and that comes into play much more in conference play, but it's how I look at things and I'm not sure how to change my brain. I think that stuff can often be overrated, and I think nropp, as good as he is, gets himself in trouble here, but there's no doubt it comes into play much more in conference.

That being said this is the first time I've really researched everything I've played instead of a lot of shooting from the hip, and I'm pleased with the results. Hopefully that carries over into conference, but yeah, I was planning on posting something here about how I've traditionally been much better pre-conference play.

It needed more gambling though. I watch a movie with gambling as its premise to see GAMBLING scenes.

But my lord, Gemma Arterton is a smoke show.

Ever seen The Disappearance of Alice Creed? Oh man.

That The Dare website is :moneybag: .

Fired up The Dark Knight Rises just to test it out - exceeding expectations.

Bye bye, movie channel subscriptions. I pay $34 to get HBO and Showtime a month, offset by my $33 credit first 12 months with DTV. Outside of the shows, it's a waste. This will make that decision much easier.

This works out for me since I'm totally not at work.

Also I meant to type Hawaii as the pick tonight but autocorrect changed it to St. Mary's. Bad beat.

Two really good old-school gambling movies that still hold up today, which many of you younger guys may not have seen.

James Caan in The Gambler

The greatest movie ever made about gambling and risk taking.

Axel Freed (Caan) is addicted to risk, but more than that he must take risks to justify his existence.

The movie begins with Axel being told by his bookie (Sorvino) that he must repay the $45,000 he owes on gambling debts and follows Axel through a journey of self abasement, self hatred and rage as he recoups, then loses the money.

A series of telling vignettes occur during which Axel reveals an unrealistic belief that he can will himself to win and be successful. Never more so than when during a game of blackjack he doubles his bet when holding 18, saying to the dealer 'Give me the three'
Elliott Gould in Inside Out

Jimmy Morgan (Elliott Gould) hasn't left his luxury townhouse apartment for quite some time. With his businessman father deceased, Jimmy stays at home and waits for his weekly checks from partner Leo Gross (Dana Elcar). With a sizeable bank account, and a sophisticated remote that controls his phone and various TVs and security cams, Jimmy doesn't really need to leave home: all of his comforts can be delivered right to his door: Chinese food, drugs from dealer Freddy (Meshach Taylor), even hookers like Amy (Jennifer Tilly), courtesy of a respectable "escort" service. He can even feed his gambling addiction by simply phoning up his bookie Sal (Robert Miranda), and placing big bets on all the college and pro games that Jimmy watches from TVs in every room―including one right over his tub. Cleaning woman Verna (Beah Richards) comes by frequently; she's a hard-working church woman who doesn't like how Mr. Morgan is living...but she keeps quiet about it. Even Jimmy's adorable little 11-year-old daughter, Heather (Nicole Nourmand), living with Jimmy's ex, Elizabeth (voice of Wendy Cutler), has become used to the disappointment that her father just doesn't want to leave his home. Only when old friend Jack (Howard Hesseman) stops by and begins to put the pieces together―and actually confront Jimmy on his sickness―does Jimmy's world start to become unstuck, exacerbated by some serious gambling loses...and some strange goings-on at the company he never visits anymore.

Since I've been researching Hawaii this week Standhardinger keeps coming up and I knew he sounded familiar so I looked him up and it turns out he played for Nebraska before transferring to Hawaii. After reading up, he actually wanted to transfer to LaSalle but after LaSalle accepted him he was arrested in Lincoln one night at 3:40am after police found him passed out in a car naked with an also passed out shirtless chick and LaSalle, being a christian school, told him no dice.

I'm definitely betting on Hawaii more.
