New Orleans Saints @ Seattle Seahawks Playoff Thread (1 Viewer)

Congrats Seahawks fans. Still not enough offense to win it all but good game.
This is quaint. I think this game placed the final nailin your "home field cooking officiating" coffin.
Pizzatyme is a bottom ten Shark Pool poster, think about how hard that is to do?I hope the Colts get housed tonight and I can't stand the Patriots.
Takes one to know one. :waves:
Thanks angry Russ.

Happy to win, but annoyed the Saints were so insecure they felt the need to headhunt Percy. #bounty
Harvin's a great talent, but he also made of china, just look at his time with Minny, NFL doesn't let good hits let alone cheap hits go on anymore

Thanks weird Stalker.

I would want him cut tomorrow if I were a Saints fan. That's brutal. No football sense whatsoever.
LOL :D - 11 Receptions

- 144 receiving yards

- 1 receiving TD that put them in position to even attempt the on-side kick attempt

- 1 on-side kick recovery to give them any shot to win the game at the end.

But he threw a forward lateral in the final 5 seconds of a game.

Did you notice #30? The RB who was supposed to be 'trailing' the play?

He over-ran the ball so Colston's only play was a forward lateral.
Or stepping out of bounds and giving them a chance to tie
Coach call a play you go with the play.
And they did, you need to be able to adjust though.
Billy was right, it was a designed play and if you noticed Colston caught the ball and twisted away from the DB and had to step back to re-set his feet just to attempt the lateral and Sproles didn't hang back but drifted ahead of Colston who probably didn't even know where Darren was in relation to where he was so he un-corked it and that was the ball game.

I can't blame Colston for not stepping out of bounds and even if he did it would be out of range for Brees to attempt a hail-mary into the endzone, it would have to be another hook-and-ladder attempt which had very little chance of being successful.

At the very least give em credit for having a puncher's chance on the final play.
Brees can't throw it 37 yards?

Post-game pettiness does nothing. The tears of losers taste too good.

...

Good game to the gracious Seattle fans. Seahawks and 12th Man rocked it today.

Can't lie, though ... pulling for a Niners-Broncos final.

I thought you were a lions fan.
I've been posting here as long as you have. Miss the memo?
I moved some love from Michigan to Oklahoma because I went to school at OU but I'm still a Michigan fan. Just tough splitting between two teams.

Moving love from the Seahawks to the Lions but this might take several years. I still go to Seahawks news 9 out of 10 times and I also watch the Seahawks if both team are playing at the same time.

I was into sports at a very early age, like 6. I kept journals with sports stats from the early 80s through high school :) so I liked a few teams over the years but nothing serious. Always been a Tigers, Michigan, and Seahawks fan and the Pistons I started to really like in the mid 80s. I didn't follow hockey that closely until I was a teenager but the Wings were always my favorite team although even today I am a closet Islanders fan.

Are any of those Seattle DB's free agents? Poach!
Thurmond and Browner
do you have their jerseys too?
ZOMG HE TALKED TO ME AGAIN!!1111!!11!!! BETTER THAN THE SUPERBOWL AND JUSTIN BEIBER COMBINED!!1111!!!!11!11

DRINK UP LIMPY
Always cute how you think I'm drunk. It's just another notch in your belt of stupidity, Now go pop another pill, junkie.
ZOMG A GIANT BAG OF USED VINEGAR AND WATER CALLED ME DUMB. WOE IS ME, HOW SHALL I EVER RECOVER?!?!?!

Seattle was only outgained (409-277) and out-first-downed (25-13) this badly twice this year: week 4 @ HOU and week 8 @ STL.

Edit: mixed up IND and HOU again

Here are the numbers that count:Seattle 23

Saints 15
I know. Just trying to take solace in something. It wasn't the beatdown everyone thought it would be abd was quite the opposite.
1/3 of Drew Brees' passing yards came on a play that should have been an interception. The Seahawks made this game closer than it should have been.

50 is not 1/3 of 300.

My bad, I thought it went for 68, not 53. Either way, this was not a high point for Brees; he was shut down for three quarters.ETA: and I hate tying on my new iPhobe. Always seem to be one place off! *meant to type 1/4

Brees played well in the third too. Slow start with some floaters and drops, made adjustments at halftime. Chad Henne is the only other QB to crack 200 in Seattle this year. Brees had 300. I think he should be given credit for producing where no one else could.

Maybe it wasn't a beatdown, but I know I am not the only one, during the second half, who never thought the Saints were in serious position to tie or win the game. The Saints had a late surge which made it interesting, but the Seahawks winning was never really in doubt.

Love you Stat, good season by the Saints.

How the hell did you beagle that post? I can't find anything anymore after they changed the board, and they killed my "notes" book as they did it. I had a wealth of info in there, gone forever now.

ETA: I see Sabertool found it. Not sure why he bumped it, that chick is a moron.

I'm a little surprised that Colston's illegal play at the end counts as an attempted pass, but it apparently does.

Meaning his gaffe is magnified on the stat tracker from now till tomorrow's kickoff:

Passing Yards 1. D. Brees, NO, 309 | 2. A. Luck, IND, 211 | 3. T. Brady, NE, 160 | 4. R. Wilson, SEA, 103 | 5. M. Colston, NO, 0
Doesn't the NFL Rulebook state that only 1 pass can be thrown per play? Also, how could it be considered a forward pass if the play was flagged? Wouldn't the penalty negate the play?

Good work here by Sabre . Tried to dispute the fact that DD is a Hawks fan by bumping a 4 year old post in which he states he is a Hawks fan.

:lmao:

Classic game. All today these two teams were Ali & Frazier, someone had to be Frazier.

So proud of the Saints, so much fight in them. They almost stole it on the end.

These were the two best teams in the NFC, maybe the NFL.

I don't like the 9ers one bit. And I really can't stand to see the Cats & Cam advance, but in general pulling for another city on the edge of the continent with passionate loud fans who have waited for their team since 76 to win it all.

I will have more thoughts tomorrow.

Good game. I said Lynch would rush for over a 100 yards, and he did.

Seems like Saints were looking to hurt some people intentionally, but again...made for an exciting game.

That's about all I have to say.
