If I would've got the small fries (which is still a lot) it would've been about $8.50... Is this still too much for a burger and fries?
That's great for about 5% of this country's population lives near one. The rest of us have to suffer with the slightly overpriced 5 Guys.$6 and you're out the door with a superior meal (IMHO) from In-N-Out.$9.99 today and I'm stuffed...I understand it's not the cheapest meal on the planet, but come on.$7 for a humongous burger and the poor folks in the FBG need to take out a loan to eat there. It's $6.79 for a double cheeseburger with bacon, grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, and whatever the #### else you want on it.
What are the alternatives? Subway for example - Sandwich/chips is $7 - Can't find a decent salad for under $7 - Chipotle is $10 - I think they're priced just about right.
If you pay more than $4 for a fast food burger and fries, you should be whipped in the public square and gutted in front of your children. If I would've got the small fries (which is still a lot) it would've been about $8.50... Is this still too much for a burger and fries?
Guess you don't want fries with your burger or a drink.$7 for a humongous burger and the poor folks in the FBG need to take out a loan to eat there. It's $6.79 for a double cheeseburger with bacon, grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, and whatever the #### else you want on it.
It's not that $10-13 is expensive in the grand scheme of things but for what you get it's way overpriced.
That's almost impossible now-a-days. I haven't eating at McDonalds in about a year and the last time I did it was over $6 for a quarter pounder with cheese value meal...normal size cause I'm not a fatty. At Wendys about a month or so ago the spicy chicken sandwhich meal was like $6 and half bucks. It seems like the burgers really weren't any cheaper. If you pay more than $4 for a fast food burger and fries, you should be whipped in the public square and gutted in front of your children. If I would've got the small fries (which is still a lot) it would've been about $8.50... That's actually not bad if you skip the fries and have cokes in the fridge at home. I sill though at the end of the day, dimly not a huge fan of the burger because it is well done. It's $6.79 for a double cheeseburger with bacon, grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, and whatever the #### else you want on it.Just so we're clear here FCHucks, there is no way, in any way, that you are eating healthy. You realize even if you shave a coke off, get a single burger…you are still cramming fried potatoes and dead cow into your system. There's more going on with health than simple caloric intake…take it from a bonafide fat man.Just had a little cheeseburger (1 burger) and a regular fries (which is gigantic) - $9.99... I've been curbing sugar drinks, so you can just ask them for a cup and get ice water.Does your Five Guys really charge you $13 for a burger and fries, or is that shtick?Nipsey said:What the pro-peanut crowd doesn't understand is that you're paying for those peanuts whether they're free or not. Maybe a burger and fries wouldn't cost 13 and change of they ditched the free nuts. I'm going to open a sandwich place and give away free beef jerky. It'll be the best $17 sandwich you've ever had.
I love the people falling for the extra scoop of fries shtick as well. Hey Einstein, you're not getting extra fries. They just made the container small. Of course you get a ton. Look what you're paying for them.
$9.99 and I'm beyond full.
You love 5 Guys, it's all good, they're selling a lot of food and there are legions of fans. But for a double with bacon and cheese, fries, drink, it's $13+
I guess $10-$15 for lunch is pretty normal for a lot of folks these days. It just ads up and suddenly your spending $75 a week on lunch
Publix deli is outstanding down here. Boar's head piled high, for a footlong it's about $8 loaded and you can easily split into 2 meals. Now granted, I only eat out once a work-week and really, it's more of a carry-out/dine-at-my-desk sorta deal, so I am not a good barometer of what lunch costs on a daily basis, but....there's a super market down the road that makes any kind of deli sandwich you want for $5.99. I will stack this tuna fish sandwich on marble rye with swiss cheese against anything Subway offers up. Absolutely splendid the way Sherri makes them for me. Fresh, tasty, all sorts of pickles and peppers. It is $10... Outside of 2 slices of pizza, most lunches will be in the $8-$11 range...![]()
I'm guessing you could find a supermarket in your area that does the same. If you're a soda drinker and a chips eater, you could probably find those cheaper at the store too.
So I just went online to check pricing. In Charlotte a bacon cheeseburger is 7.49. and a small fry is 2.39. Regular drink is 2.19. That is a bacon cheeseburger, fries and drink for basically 12.00. That is pretty expensive. And I don't care if it is a lot of fries that's just a waste anyway. If I would've got the small fries (which is still a lot) it would've been about $8.50... Is this still too much for a burger and fries?
Or just go to a real restaurant where $10 for a burger and fries allows you to order your burger medium rare instead of well done, and isn't served to you in tinfoil.stop drinking coke and go with water, guys.
skip the fries and pile up the peanuts.
use those few bucks you save on every meal and maybe in 50 years you can buy a home in california right next to an In N Out.
I love the In N Out crowd.
Why pay that much for a good fast food burger when you can move to one of the most expensive states in the country and get a $3 burger at In N Out?

If I sit down anywhere for a burger and fries, typically I'll get a beer and pay a tip - Now I'm in for $22-$25... If you are spending $15-$17 for a sit down burger it better be Houston's. There are a lot of burg n beer joints around town in Miami, I get what you are saying with the craft beers. But you understand that $20-$30 for some folks is a lot of wasted money? IYHOExcept that the burger patty is about as thick as a piece of paper, the bun sucks, and the fries are worthless, I completely agree.$6 and you're out the door with a superior meal (IMHO) from In-N-Out.$9.99 today and I'm stuffed...I understand it's not the cheapest meal on the planet, but come on.$7 for a humongous burger and the poor folks in the FBG need to take out a loan to eat there. It's $6.79 for a double cheeseburger with bacon, grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, and whatever the #### else you want on it.

I'll have an organic smoothie please.Positive development over here. Loan just got approved for the new juice bar. We're going to have all your favorites: OJ, cucumber, any kind of veggie you want, beets, ice, the works. Here's the kicker: free Lysol. As many cans as you want. The good stuff too, the extra strength stuff. Shake it up, spray it around, huff it, whatever. Enjoy it however you like. It's free. Fill your pockets with as many cans as you can fit. Still looking for that perfect Valentine's gift? You just found it and it's free. Here you go sweetie. Spray it everywhere, all around. Don't worry. There more where that came from.

I got another place that serves 10 oz burgers made to order and a loaded baked potato for $5.99 with any beverage purchase,Coke/Beer/IT, whatever. Cooked to order. hose of us liking med rare/med, tough to eat a well done burger and truly like it.
Worst case scenario: Red Robin - $9.99 for burger cooked to order with endless side of fries. And there are plenty of places to get a burger cooked to order with fries for $9.99 better than Red Robin. They're everwhere. The non-chain ones are usually better than the chains.
Sorry, I just don't get paying $10 for a burger and fries, having to get it well done, having to got to the counter to order it and pick it up, and having to eat out of tin foil, just to save on a $1.50 tip.

B) I couldn't live with myself for leaving someone $1.50, regardless of cost - If I'm sitting down and someone is serving me, even just a cup of coffee, they have earned bare bones minimum of $3
Cheaper? Probably not. But there's thousands of sit down places that serve a burger and fries for $10, and they'll cook the burger the way you want it cooked, and will serve your food on a plate instead of tin foil. The waiter at Red Robin makes $1.50 for my preference of eating a burger not cooked well done and served to me on a real plate for $10.
The waiter at Red Robin makes $0.00 for your preference of eating a burnt burger served in tin foil for $10.
Believe me, the waiter at Red Robin would rather make $1.50 than make $0.00. You're not doing him any favors by claiming the moral high horse of being a big tipper.
Because they charge sit down prices? Because I can have convenience cheaper? And because as we have all learned removing a 5 Guys from it's natural environment for even a few moments invites disaster. Why is Five Guys being compared to sit down places? It's fast food. You can order online, head out to pick it up, and be back home/work with your meal in 10 minutes. A sit down place (waiting for waitress to come around to take order, bring food/check) is at least a 30 minute ordeal.
I'm okay with paying a similar price as a sit down because I'm paying in part for convenience.
