Pretty dopey to think espn would try and hide this, in this day and age. You just can't run with any story that runs across tmz until you have your sources.Espn is the worst ever when it comes to their 'journalism' but this isn't why.

This is the senior NBA owner and its my belief there was some discussion before posting this story.

The story, as it was last night, is that TMZ is reporting this is allegedly donald sterling. Its the story they have posted so they still haven't confirmed anything.

My personal opinion is that they felt it out to see if this story had legs and once they determined it did, they had to go with it.

 
btw, this thread is misleading , where in that audio clip did Donald Sterling say he hates black people? Give me a time so I can go back and hear it myself

This part is the worst -- as if he's talking about a pack of rabid dogs or something.

them - preposition to refer to two or more people

seems like he was referring to people, not dogs.

Look I agree, what the guy said was ignorant but at the same time if he hated black people like your thread claims how could he be dating a girl that is half black?

Also, clearly the guy was upset and she was asking him "gotcha" questions while he was upset, but then again, I am not biased like you are, so I am able to see the whole picture instead of what I want to see.

whole picture is guy and his HALF BLACK gf weren't getting along and she set him up to make him look ridiculous because she is a sad passive aggressive person.

No racist could ever be with a girl that was half black so just because she set him up while he was angry with her doesn't mean he hates black people.

Sadly, and I speak from personal experience, there are a LOT of old Jews in Los Angeles who share Sterling's racism against black people. My own grandfather was one of them. He knew Sterling (Jewish businessmen in L.A. of a certain age all seem to know one another.) They may have had dealings years ago, I'm not sure- but they belonged at one time to the same country club (Brentwood, which is one of two in Los Angeles built primarily because Jews couldn't get into the Christian country clubs- the other is Hillcrest.)

My grandpa was a wealthy man (not on Sterling's level) and a big time Democrat and liberal. But like many Jewish liberals from that day and age, he was extremely patronizing. When I was a kid he used to tell me that we needed to "help the Schwarze because they couldn't help themselves." He thought of them like helpless children. He would have never hired one for a "thinking" position.

Even today I know a few old Jewish landlords who have warned me not to bring them too many black tenants.

 
Anyone who pays attention to the NBA knows that Sterling's a racist, the newsworthy thing in here is that he's apparently a cuckold. I wonder if he ever "preps the bull."

What's the play if you're a Clipper and not a FA next year? Trade request unless the team is sold? Some sort of protest tonight?

Gonna be funny to watch the NBA pretend like this is the first they're hearing about one of their own being a scumbag.

 
I do think Silver will do something about it. He doesn't seem to give a ####.

Stern would have ignored it and then showed up for the next Clippers home game sitting next to Sterling with that arrogant fn smirk on his face.

One guy was against black people as a way of life while the other was secretly recorded saying bad things(he only said it because she asked him questions while she knew he was mad at her)

Idk about you guys, but when your woman makes you mad sometimes you will say ANYTHING to make her mad too even if you don't mean it.

 
But Silver has been Stern's protégé for a long time. Why would we think he would govern any differently than his mentor?

Yeah but you're forgetting that the whole reason he seemed to be mad at her in the first place is because of the fact that she was publicly associating with blacks. It's not like they had a fight about him leaving the toilet seat up and she baited him into racist comments.
