Welker suspended 4 games for PEDs (1 Viewer)

Broncos believe Welker is playing Sunday vs. Colts. Suspensions never announced this late in week. Game plan in place.

Back INTO the lineup he goes, I guess.
I don't get this. It's Tuesday.
I'm not sure Welker has cleared all the concussion protocols to be allowed to play.
He hasn't...last I heard. If that's the case, then this could be even worse for Welker owners. He could miss week 1 because of the concussion AND miss the following four games due to suspension.

I don't think that's how it works.

The four-game Welker is official. It starts week 1. Team did discuss timing with league. Team will send out press release shortly.

How does it work? If he misses a game before they announce his suspension are they going to make his suspension retroactive because he already missed a game due to injury? I don't think so.

I am a huge huge huge Broncos fan born and raised in Cincinnati. I have received literally 150+ texts, talking about how much better the Bengals are going to be in the last hour.

While this definitely sucks as a Broncos fan, this is sweet for Fantasy. Every one of the people who have text me is in a Fantasy League. Everyone of them knew of the news too late to grab Latimer (yay for following all broncos media sources on social medicine.) I have been huge on this guy since before the draft and now is in the right place to be the next man up and prove himself. This also gives Sanders a bump since he can play the slot where he likes and let DT and Latimer stretch the field.

They are now all bitter.

If there is any question about value, I reached for Sanders tonight in the late 6th, the plan was to nab Welker once he dropped enough but someone wanted Welker shortly after. They knew about the suspension.

So in one year the Broncos have lost Welker, Moreno, and Decker. Many folks just laugh this off as if they can just insert a bunch of schleps in and get the same results. If I were a Welker owner, I would not be too broken up since he was probably an 8th or 9th round pick. If was a Manning owner, I'd be crapping bricks as just spent a 1st or 2nd rounder on a guy that will probably be throwing around TDS in the low to mid 30s at best. I do not remember any qbs throwing back to back 40 td seasons. If I am wrong, please refresh my memory.
Yeah, people don't realize it was in fact Decker and Welker (in that order) that lead the Bronocs in RZ targets last year. Even if you could replace both talents (which IMO, they can't atm), you can't just replicate that kind chemistry and trust out of nowhere.
Except that's exactly what Peyton did with Welker last year... unless you're referring to all that chemistry and trust they carried over from the 2012 season?

Real quick:

Molly is another name for MDMA, ecstacy, whatever.

Amphetamine not SUPPOSED to be part of it, but it usually is.

Bump Julius Thomas
That reasoning can only go so far. At some point you have to subscribe to the theory that a high tide raises all oars. Part of WHY Thomas and the others are so open and productive is because there are so many threats to cover. But when you now do not have a Moreno, decker, and welker, then maybe now somebody can be doubled more.
...Moreno isn't talented enough to be concerned about his loss as a threat to cover. And of course enter Sanders in exchange for Decker.

The last MA actually stands for methylamphentamine
You are correct. I think what he means is players take "mollys" thinking they are pure whatever and many times a real "narcotic" is mixed more than some folks may realize. You're not picking these up at Walgreens, instead its Salsbeans and you never know what you're gonna get there.

I always thought it contained amphetamines as well, this is from the PFT article when Scandrick got popped:

But MDMA isn’t a banned substance under the PED policy. MDMA falls under the substance-abuse policy, and a positive test doesn’t compel a suspension for a first offense. (In Scandrick’s case, the PED test wasn’t even checking for MDMA or other recreational drugs.)

The problem for Scandrick and, apparently, other NFL players who have tested positive for PEDs this offseason is that the MDMA they have taken on a recreational basis wasn’t pure, and it contained amphetamines. Amphetamines remain a banned substance under the PED policy.
PFT is not the final word, I know this, but they seem pretty adamant.

Good news for me. The Welker owner in my league got scared off and dropped him today for some reason.. I jumped all over it and put in my waiver claim for him. This 4 game suspension could actually do him good; it will allow his concussion symptoms to clear and he should be 100% when he returns in week 5. I really hope I can pick him up because he would be a great flex play on my team with AJ Green and Randall Cobb as my starters. I'm still shocked the Welker owner decided to drop him for Mike Williams. Hopefully the rest of league owners are scared off by the suspension... I will happily let him set on the bench for 4 games right now.

He claimed he took Molly at the Kentucky Derby which should be pure MDMA but is usually never 100% pure. Methamphetamine and amphetamine are two common cuts in it & Welker learned that the hard way.

How can anyone popping mollys on a regular basis be able to judge where or when they need to call it quits? Or shut it down for a bit? I worry about players on serious narcotics. They're not thinking right.

Kind of odd he never got popped for this in all his years in new england but as soon as he's playing with manning he comes up positive right after a year manning happens to break records and go to the superbowl.

Makes you wonder......

Wait, Welker himself admitted he took it?

I'm curious as to the 4 game suspension, since Denver has a bye week 4, does that mean that Walker will actually be suspended through week 5, making him unavailable till week 6?

Yes, this happened as soon as he started playing in DEN.

A year later
