Better Place to Spend a Saturday: Santiago or Cordoba? (1 Viewer)

I am going to Cordoba, Argentina in mid March for a bird shooting trip. I think I am going to stay an extra day to explore either Santiago, Chile or Cordoba. Anyone ever been to either?

Go to Santiago.

If you stay in Cordoba, have some aged Torrontes (local white wine not available outside Argentina)

I went to Santiago twice last year.
My wife will be accompanying me on the trip and she will be spending 9 days in Santiago. I will be going to Cordoba for four days and Santiago the rest of the trip.

Looking for tips on things to do in Santiago--as a couple and for my wife solo. First decision is where to stay. I'd lean to the Ritz (Calle El Alcalde 15 Las Condes) over the W (Isidora Goyenechea 3000) but know nothing about either hotel other than the brand. Or should I look at something different?

There's not a lot to do in cordoba. My sister got married there, we had a lot of wedding crap to do, but don't remember any must do activities. I was drunk every day, so there's that. Mmmmmm quilmes

Yeah, I got that sense so we are going to focus on Santiago other than the time I spend in Cordoba for the dove hunting trip.

Was in Santiago last year. 9 days will be a long time. You can make a day trip to coast, mountains or wine country.

Had a quick tour of the city which took a few hours to see the main sites. There's a mountain with a jesus statue that I remember being nice spot as well as a section of the city that was turned into a park where the Spanish held off the locals back in the day.

Didn't stay at either hotel of the hotels you listed but Ritz or W, I think you'll manage either way.

Bump.

Thinking about spending around 8 days in Chile for my 30th bday next year.

Gf's planning, but I'd like to give her some ideas.

Wine and food are my thing. Also, white water rafting sounds fun. Any hotel recommendations? Where should I stay in wine country?
