Unbelievably horrible reality TV thread (1 Viewer)

I'm not sure I've ever watched a full season of the Real World, but while watching Slednecks the other day I saw the preview for the new RW season. It's called Skeletons. After watching the commercial, I promptly set us up the bomb on the DVR to record this show. Looks like a lot of drama.
I watch it to try to guess which cast members will end up on the Challenge.
Did you see the preview for this season? Something about pairing up each member with someone from their lives they hate? Sounds awesome.
Did you watch last season? Halfway through the season, the cast members' exes were brought in to live with them. Drama.

 No. Like I said, I don't think I've ever watched a season before. Maybe one early on, but nothing in the past 15 years. I have the same philosophy of that girl on Party Down South: I hate drama. But I love watching other people's drama.

And if you've never watched a season before - it's a really good idea to let a few episodes record and then marathon the first few. It's hard to care about anything that happens if you don't immerse yourself in it the first time you watch. It's also hard to tell who's who if you don't - there are usually three or four cast members who are completely interchangeable and look alike. 30 minutes of footage at a time (that's about all you get in an hour show on MTV) makes it impossible to tell who's who.

Solid info. I'll probably watch the first episode just in case, but if I'm not hooked, I'll let a couple tape to binge them.

This is how I know you're old.

I am so looking forward to Celebrity Apprentice. That show is one of my guilty pleasures.

And I loved Temptation Island. It needs to come back.

Anyone remember Love Cruise?

Me too. I think the thing I like about it is that it's famous people and they are arguing just like any other idiot on a reality show. And Trump is so good at making them say things that will cause drama. But then, when they show the people take the donations to the people in charge, it always gets me. It's nice to see these people raising so much money for these charities. And at the same time, celebrity drama. Win - win!

I caught a commercial for the new season and they showed a pretty cute chick who says she was a heroin addict before she came on the show.MTV always does it's best to drum up the drama so if that is to your liking this season looks to be good.

Don't know if this is technically reality, but the Fantasy Factory is coming back for another last season. Love this show.

Not sure if I mentioned it or not, but Slednecks was pretty entertaining.

Also, the Challenge came back. Love this show, although this season is odd since two of the people on the show are now dead.

As for Real World, so far I'm digging it. It's funny, but I'm always amazed on these shows that the women are so slutty and such alcoholics.

I'll give Real World one more shot. Last time I watched, they decided to punk the roommates by having their exes move in. I tried, I really did, but those people were just unbearably inane and annoying.

I gave up on Celebrity Apprentice a few seasons back. Its all about who has the richest friends and brings in the most money. Its cool that charities benefit, but its pretty obvious that most of these people have no chance to actually win. Of course, they use the term celebrity pretty lose as well.

They basically did the same thing last year.Just trying to create drama by letting the first group settle in and develop relationships and then start dropping the bombs in.

No idea how the ratings are doing but this really seems to have run out of ideas and has become very predictable.

Pretty much what they are doing this season. But it's OPD (Other People's Drama), and I'm a huge fan of that.

And what's up with every news source putting headlines out on Tuesday morning like "Geraldo voted off Celebrity Apprentice last night". It seems like every other show, they will make it so you have to click on the article to get the info. But not for CA. It's almost impossible to miss it on the Internet. :hot:

Love the Challenge. Watching the Real World because it's better than some, but mostly while I play computer games.

I highly recommend "Redneck Island" if you like the Challenge. I started watching it this season, and it's basically a cross between The Challenge and Party Down South hosted by Stone Cold Steve Austin.

I've seen the previews. Not sure it's my cup of tea. But I'll check it out.

I wasn't sure either. Easily the best addition to my reality viewing in some time.

I know it's completely fake, but my family loves watching Amish Mafia. It is hysterical. It's so over the top, but the diversity of the show is amazing. They have a black Amish guy, a midget, a huge fat lady, a mute and some weird dude with a bad eye named "Big Steve."

But this season, they've introduced a new bad guy. And he's in a wheelchair. But my favorite part... wait for it... it's an electric wheelchair. :lmao:

Love this show.

GD it, Donald. Can't you just keep your giant racist mouth shut? There's nowhere else on TV I can see Geraldo dancing and singing in a top hat.

To be fair, it was going to be shelved as soon as he announced he was running for president. Would've been a mess for NBC to follow FCC campaign laws otherwise.

It is with a heavy heart that I inform you all of the passing of The Celebrity Apprentice.

http://bgr.com/2015/06/29/nbc-fires-donald-trump-the-apprentice/
The show can go on with a new host....its a Burnett Production...
Yeah, initial reports are they are looking for a minority to fill the position, preferably a Mexican. Talk about pandering. I'm not sure who else could fill that spot. Donald was great because no matter how rich and famous these people were, they were all intimidated by him to an extent. Who else can do that?

Kevin O'Leary maybe? Oprah?

I love The Celebrity Apprentice and I even like his kids well enough, but wouldn't mind if Donald disappeared forever.

Oh, I haven't mentioned -

1. Are You The One? season 3 - these people are complete morons. Moreso than usual. It's perfect.

2. Couples Therapy - AWESOME.

Finished that season and without question that was rigged for them to win it based upon exactly how clueless they were for the rest of the entire show.

Kiki is from my neck of the woods, great body but man is she really came off looking bad.

New season of The Challenge starts tonight.
Thank God.
This is definitely my guiltiest of guilty pleasures. I hate every contestant on this show, yet I know every single thing about them for some reason. Not because I've gone out of my way, but just from watching the show.

I'm always conflicted with this show as I want certain people eliminated quickly, but when they are, I miss them because they add drama to the show.

This is your guiltiest one? Challenge is so much better than Bachelor or Are You The One? or Party Down South.

I don't watch the Bachelor. And while PDS is pretty bad (in an awesome way!), this has been around forever! This is the TWENTY SEVENTH season of The Challenge. I've literally seen people come AND go. Well, the come part is usually blurred out, but still. I feel like I've grown up with these people. Which is very odd, because I hate these people. They're like the friends I never wanted.

Not sure I like the format, though. It's "Bloodlines", so half the contestants are the people we know. The other half is their family members. I don't give a #### about those people.

Great start to the season. I thought Leroy was going to get the shaft again. I mean, get screwed again. Damn. This show makes it hard to say.... no. That still sounds bad.

Tony & his brother are the worst. no wait, Bananas & his cousin are the worst. hmm, but then there's also Cory, who is the worst. man these people suck. but thanks to MTV for putting the girls in tight shorts and hosing them down in the first challenge...

glad to see CT will make an appearance, but I'm betting it's a one-time "special challenge" only.

Tony is a ### hole. But I felt like he was kind of getting a raw deal in that episode. His brother was psycho.

Just a reminder that Big Brother starts again tonight.

Also, if you guys aren't watching Are You The One? and The Challenge this season, they're both bringing the big guns.

This season's cast of Big Brother is especially meathead-y, even by BB standards. But we thought the same about the Cody & Caleb season, and it turned out to be pretty fun season.
