Broke my pinky toe last night, caught it walking by and clipping a free weight. 99.9% sure it's broken. Today it is very bruised although not as painful as yesterday. my question is is this worth a trip to the doctor or will they just tape it up and give me a tylenol? Anyone ever go to the doctor for a broken pinky toe? Google results mostly say suck it up but some say doctor and I'm wondering if those are just worrier types. Anyone with any pinky toe fracture experience? It looks pretty close to this: http://brentroad.com/photos/00528305.jpg

I believe the pinky toe's only purpose is to protect the other more important toes.

Chop it off before it infects the rest of the body. A good butcher knife works well for this. Makes good soup, BTW.

Pain level was 2.5/10. Only really hurt when turning hard right. Looks like we're in the clear. Thank you doctors.
Are you sure it is really broken?
Yes.
Im confused.Did you go to thr hospital or not?
Nope. Then you'll say how do you know i'ts broken and I'll say because I do. You'll say how, i'll say i just know. Take care.
I dont doubt that you know it is broken, I was just wondering if you had an xray to know if it was a full break or maybe a hairline fracture.

They would both look the sane on the outside but judging by the milder pain you are feeling its probably a hairline.

I had one in my hand I never got treated. It hurt but I was still able to use it pretty normally.

Scientists have said that humans have evolved to the point where the pinkie toe serves no purpose, not even balance. They predict that generations from now humans will have eight toes. Evolution will just simply phase it out.

This just seemed like a good thread to say HOW COOL IS THAT?

Not sure I agree with it not being helpful in balance.

Perhaps it isnt important in regular walking but it sure helps to have that little toe when making quick cuts while running.

Although it may be partially true that it will be phased out. Many generations from now people will be so fat the human race may just lose their feet and legs altogether from not being used.

It has a purpose for me and that purpose is pain.

You want a toe? I can get you a toe, believe me. There are ways, Dude. You don't wanna know about it, believe me.
