I'm going to see if anyone here has a pic of the janitor... I don't think Scatman Crothers is the guy I was thinking of, but this guy is the classic angry old janitor. If I can get a pic, I will post it here. I am totally indebted to him - not only would the kid have gotten away with the stolen product if not for him, but he'd have been back next week to rock in the new year by wiping his butt with his sleeve and then running around the office hugging everyone. Can't post any pics of the kid though - even if we have them.

 
Dude, I know it sounds like a small thing now, but DOCUMENT-DOCUMENT-DOCUMENT. Make sure you CC Human Resources. If anything comes of this, you want a very clear paper trail.

It's one of those things that's great to have if you need it, but doesn't hurt you if you have it and don't need it.

Yikes, good thing the stolen product was in his bag.  You could have been in a load of trouble for the janitor's actions.  With the stolen product, he probably won't try to sue.  You should probably call the police in anyway, just to get this on the record, not to press charges.

We could have gotten in a LOAD of trouble for the janitor's actions, that's why the Pres made me suspend him. I don't know if I can call the cops on the kid because he never actually left the premises with the product, so I don't know if it's considered theft or not. I feel like I'm in a dream or something - the whole office is buzzing about it. It's surreal.

No, he's an African-American, not a Scot. His name is Clyde... he's going to be a hero around here for a while. I think the packaging manager may have a photo of him from a Powerpoint presentation he's doing for our parent company documenting the construction of the production facility....if he does, I will post it here.

Najeh is 22 and was an outbound call-center rep. Spent his day calling real-estate brokers trying to sell them a software program which allows them to become their own loan officer. Now I need a new rep for that position - that was a one-person job.

I wish I could have seen Clyde going for the underpants.... wrestling to get that waistband above the slacks to verify his identity..... the guy who sits next to the now empty desk where the kid sat said it was the funniest thing he had ever seen in his life.

Having studied Abnormal psych in college and having a best friend who is a detective, i can tell you there is a clear connection with stealing and poo. Ironic this story worked out that way

 
On the same topic, at my elementary school sometimes people would poop NEXT to the toilet. I never understood that. If you're not going to poop in the correct place, at least throw it on the wall or something. Has anyone else seen this?
