beat me to it.
Quote from 3nOut, the thread originator:"Until I hear that someone is not a starter (left their team) and they were starters on their current team, I think I'd prefer to keep them bolded. Let's give them the benefit of the doubt (although many will most liekly change). Thats why this thread will be evolving."I don't understand why you have UFAs listed as starters for 2006. Ahman Green won't be back for the Pack, and Bennett/Williams won't be back for the Vikings.
I mean, I suppose they could start, but there's just as likely a chance of a team drafting a RB replacement or signing a different one.
Thought about this but...
Until he is written off, he won't be crossed of (but I'm pretty sure I'll be crossing him off pretty soon anyway).''There is an appeal process so you can't write him off right away,'' said agent Drew Rosenhaus, who represents several Miami players...
Second. Can't compain about 1360/7 in 14 games in 2004.Guys, Tjones will not hold off Benson.
This was TJones first good, full season in 6 years.
This is news to me. Link? The CHI coaches don't like him.
I am adding Blaylock and Houston as potential starters.News: NewYorkJets.com reports the team and Curtis Martin have agreed on a restructured contract. Martin, Derrick Blaylock and Cedric Houston will all have a chance to start for the Men in Green next season.
Who else should I have bolded? Although this is not meant to be a depth chart (thus not listing all the players each team has at RB) the Cardinal'swebsite has JJ Arrington listed as their starter on their depth chart. And for now, the same goes for Barlow on SF's website.Wondering why you have Arrington and Barlow bolded as starters?
Also would like to see players like Chris Perry included.
Cinci homer here, and I agree. Perry will have enough carries to be considered a RBBC.I guess I see those two jobs as RBBC.
Chris Perry may not be the starter but I would say it is RBBC in some sense.
Now this is the stuff I need... A link would be nice too.January 21, 2006, 09:27

New OC Turner Excited About Running Game
Matthew Barrows, Sacramento Bee - [Full Article]
New OC Norv Turner has had good luck with running backs since his first offensive-coordinator job with Dallas in 1991. When Raiders RB LaMont Jordan finished with 1,025 rushing yards this season, it marked the 11th time since 1991 one of Turner's runners surpassed 1,000 yards. Turner said one attraction to the 49ers was their late-season success in running the ball. San Francisco averaged nearly 200 yards on the ground in its final two games, both wins, and rookie RB Frank Gore emerged as a favorite to be the featured back in 2006.

49ers notes: Running game excites Turner

SANTA CLARA - The 49ers are hoping new offensive coordinator Norv Turner has the same success with quarterback Alex Smith that he did with another No. 1 overall draft pick, Troy Aikman, 15 years ago.
Under Turner's tutelage, the Dallas quarterback led the Cowboys to two Super Bowl titles in the early 1990s and Aikman recently singled out Turner as the biggest coaching influence on his career.
But it can be argued that Turner has had even better luck with running backs since his first offensive-coordinator job with Dallas in 1991.
When Raiders tailback LaMont Jordan finished with 1,025 rushing yards this season, it marked the 11th time since 1991 one of Turner's runners surpassed 1,000 yards. Emmitt Smith led the NFL in rushing all three years Turner ran the Cowboys' offense, and he also has coached Terry Allen, Stephen Davis, LaDainian Tomlinson and Ricky Williams to 1,000-yard rushing seasons.
At his introductory news conference this week in Santa Clara, Turner said one attraction to the 49ers was their late-season success in running the ball. San Francisco averaged nearly 200 yards on the ground in its final two games - both wins - and rookie Frank Gore emerged as a favorite to be the featured back in 2006.
"I think there's a good foundation here in the way the 49ers were running the ball late in the year - it's exciting to me," Turner said. "Their backs are aggressive and talented and are ready to go. There's a young group of linemen. The biggest thing in any coaching job is figuring out what your guys do best and give them the chance to do it."
Ravens | Team wants to talk with AlexanderFri, 24 Feb 2006 19:55:06 -0800Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports the Baltimore Ravens want to talk to RB Shaun Alexander when free agency opens, if he does not re-sign with the Seattle Seahawks.

An earlier report said the Cardinals would not pursue Alexander.
Cardinals | Team paying attention to MorrisSun, 26 Feb 2006 06:42:08 -0800Sean Jensen, of the Pioneer Press, reports soon-to-be free agent RB Maurice Morris (Seahawks) has caught the eye of the Arizona Cardinals. "I can't comment on players that haven't hit the market yet, but I will say that based on guys that are speculated to be free, it could be a buyer's market," said Rod Graves, the Cardinals' vice president of football operations. Asked if it is a good season to have a need at that position, Graves quickly and confidently said, "Yes it is."
The Vikings are thin at RB? How many RBs do they need?Vikings | Team paying attention to Morris
Sun, 26 Feb 2006 06:37:38 -0800
Sean Jensen, of the Pioneer Press, reports soon-to-be free agent RB Maurice Morris (Seahawks) has caught the eye of the Minnesota Vikings. Detroit Lions running backs coach Wilbert Montgomery said a marriage between Morris and Minnesota would appear to be an ideal match. "For the head coach in Minnesota, Maurice would be a No. 1 candidate because he's been in the West Coast system," said Montgomery. "You can plug him right in, and you can go out there tomorrow and start running plays." Morris fits the profile of the type of veteran free agent the Vikings' new "Triangle of Authority" would appear to be inclined to target. Vikings head coach Brad Childress acknowledged Friday, Feb. 24, that the team is thin in terms of numbers, and the Vikings are not assuming that RB Onterrio Smith, who is serving a one-year suspension, will be back with them in 2006.
I would make it RBBC if anything, no way would I bold Gore as the clear starter. I expect Barlow to receive more carries per game. At least in the first half of the season. Gore will get his shot later in the year when Nolen is grasping at anything to jump start his teamI agree about Gore - I posted that more due to the fact that Barlow was listed at the starter, and it would appear to be more up for grabs or at least RBBC right now. We probably won't know for sure until late this summer on this one.
Niners head coach Mike Nolan says he was quite pleased with RB Kevan Barlow’s effort last year. “He fits in well,” Nolan told PFW at the Combine. “He had some knee issues late in the year that forced us to put him on injured reserve, but he did an outstanding job. There are some things in his game, like his pass protection, for example, that was pleasantly surprising. He had two very long runs called back because of penalties that would have given him 150 more yards. All the concerns I had heard about him when I first came on board, I never felt were a problem. He always tried to make sure he was doing the right thing.”
I think I'll steer clear of this situation, if I can.and this just in from PFW

One strange things I dont undertsand is why his agent even mentions this. Wouldn't that drive the price of Lewis down since other teams who may be interested know they have less competition for him?Vikings | Team not showing interest in J. LewisMon, 27 Feb 2006 19:45:28 -0800Judd Zulgad, of the Star Tribune, reports the Minnesota Vikings have not shown any interest in Baltimore Ravens RB Jamal Lewis, who is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent March 3. Lewis' agent, Mitch Frankel, said, "They have not expressed any interest. Usually teams in general call to say, 'We're interested and when free agency starts we'll call.' I have to assume they are not interested at this point."
He was probably asked "What about Minnesota?"His response would be that the Vikings have not called like other teams have, thus they have no interest.Since this is only an assumption on the part of Jamal Lewis' agent, I'm not quite ready to strike him off the Viking's list. However, per KFFL...

Just updating my answer key Arizona: Michael BennettNo need to speculate, I've got the answer key here for ya
TJ IS the starter. Benson MAY take the job next year, and at that point, you should put Benson in bold. Right now, TJ should be in bold.Second. Can't compain about 1360/7 in 14 games in 2004.Guys, Tjones will not hold off Benson.

Um, you must be a Duckett owner.Denver: TJ DuckettNo need to speculate, I've got the answer key here for ya
theres still a small chance they may be resigned, but i'll cross them off because its fun...Stephen Davis and Mike Anderson were just cut.
Not in their cap hell. This gave me a chill. I agree, in a perfect world this is how things will play out. I really like the Reggie Bush to the Jets part. Just seems to make sense.
No way Ahman Green is a backup. 2003-04 Green Bay 16 355 1883 117.7 5.3. That guy is a #1 back, not a backup.I believe Travis Henry & Ahman Green will find work somewhere, but will be relegated to backup roles.I also believe Cedric Benson and Chris Perry will be backups for another year.No need to speculate, I've got the answer key here for ya
Three years ago Priest Holmes scored 27 TDs, your point is?No way Ahman Green is a backup. 2003-04 Green Bay 16 355 1883 117.7 5.3. Not really, he'll be nearly 30 by the end of the season. Looked horrible this year and the GB running game took off after he got hurt and Gado took over. He's not the same player he was 3 years ago just like Holmes.Ahman Green is still young, unlike Holmes.
Both those guys are coming off good years. Green hasn't played well since the middle of two years ago. Guys lose it at different rates. Faulk was pretty much washed up at 30. It's not even known if Green will be ready at the start of the season. His injury is one that typically takes a year or so to recover from.30 years old is not old. Shaun Alexander is 29 and Tiki Barber is 30 so he's about the same age as the 2 rushing leaders of last year. I dont think he'll ever get 1880 yards but I still believe that he has a place as a starter for a team in reconstruction in need of a temporary running back.
That's cool. I wouldn't quote his stats from 3 seasons ago as the reason why though. He's clearly not that same player.I still firmly believe that he can be a starter and get 1200+ yards.
It'll be 3 seasons ago when this season starts.3 years ago but 2 seasons ago for him.
Good point. .
and yet Gore is still in Bold. he has not been named the starter by anyone but some reporterand this just in from PFW
