FBG Inaugural Podcast (1 Viewer)

you have to have quicktime pro to use the rightclick to download the podcast. any way you could post the file to download so we dont have to purchase "pro"?

I want to put this on my Ipod, but can't because i cant download it.
anyone have a workaround for buying pro?

I have downloaded it, but haven't listened to it yet. The one thing I would like to request is the tag information that is embedded into the file.

When I added it to my library in Media Player, it comes up as an unkown Genre, can you make the genre read Podcast? That would work great with the other podcasts I listen to.

Also, the album is unkown, can you make it FBG (or something like that)?

Love the idea, thanks for taking the time out to do this.

For a little constructive criticism:

Content: A+

Lammey: A+

Bloom: A+

Sound quality 1-12minutes: B-

Sound quality 12-100min: D

Sound effects/sounders: content: C

Sound effects/sounders: volume: F

Length: B+

Overall, it was fantastic. just a few technical issues with the sound and the sounders (amazingly loud). Otherwise, outstanding.

Keep it up guys.

Thanks Kook! Sound quality should be MUCH better for the next Podcast. Sound effects are going to be more quiet as well.

Are you on a Mac?

Very cool. I've only downloaded one other podcast ever, so I am by no means an expert, but the previous one I tried ended up in the "podcast" folder on my Ipod and Itunes while this one ended up in my "music" folder. In the podcast folder on Itunes this other one had a subscribe button next to it too, not sure what that did. The FBG podcast downloaded as a .mp3 file that got added to my "music" section. I was able to play it fine, but was wondering if I did something wrong on my end to import. This may not be the forum for techie questions, but outside of the sound quality issues discussed, I thought it was a solid, professional product. I can't wait for the next one.

I am not using a Mac and I have the same issue as well. No way (that I know of) to save it without Quicktime Pro - or another program designed to rip radio broadcasts from the net.A downloadable file would be much appreciated if possible.

You just right click on the link that's in the first post and go to "Save As" or "Save Link As" Nobody should need Quicktime Pro to download this.

It was very entertaining and there some very good analysis by Bloom.

But I was confused when Lammey said that Chad Jackson was Darrel Jackson’s brother. I thought it was confirmed on the board that he is no relation.

That's what I would do. From your browser, right-click on the podcast link and then choose "Save Link As" and save the file to your hard drive somewhere. Then go to Windows Explorer and navigate to the folder where you saved the file and double-click the podcast file. If double-clicking the file brings up a different player than QuickTime, here's an alternative: you can instead open QuickTime and then browse to the location of the file on your hard drive and open the file that way.

Good idea on the tagging of the file -- we will definitely do this on future podcasts.

I'm betting the "subscribe" button was a link to an XML/RSS feed where the podcast library for that site is stored. Since this is our first podcast, I haven't built the feed or the XML file yet but this is something we will definitely have available once we get a couple of them under our belt. Not sure on the destination of the file -- I'm betting it is trying to detect a ID tag in the MP3 for "Podcast" or something like that to determine where the file should go. I'll do some more research on this.

You're right, just me being a smart ###.

Firstly I'll say that I loved the content, very informative, professional and well organised. Great job!

The one suggestion I have is to keep the duration under an hour. Like many I suspect, I don't have an ipod and don't intend on buying one right now. I do drive a lot for work, and burn podcasts to CD to listen to in the car, as that's about the only free, quiet time I get. (GB kids and coworkers).

Cheers.

psssssssssst...thanks for the rub down cecil. let's hope you convinced one GM to give me top 15 money. check will be in the mail monday morning.
