**** OFFICIAL **** LOST - The TV Series (1 Viewer)

No mention of the Hanso Careers site yet?

They are looking for an Anger Management Director in Seoul

The successful applicant will work with the Hanso Foundation's Public Relations department to rapidly and efficiently manage unforeseen human complications of the Foundation's work. Experience in human rights and environmental litigation is essential, as is a persuasive, open demeanor - previous experience in psychology and mediation are preferred. This is a highly rewarding but also high-stress position often dealing with rapid response and mission-critical variables - the successful applicant will report to officers in the Hanso Foundation's legal and Public Relations departments. Fluency in Korean and all regional dialects as well as comfort with sea-based travel will be required.
The "Simian Veterinarian" job description has an interesting qualifier:
Current or past membership in organizations such as the Sierra Club, Greenpeace, Amnesty International, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals or any advocacy group dealing with environmental or animal-rights issues will disqualify any and all prospective applicants.
Love the "powered by Monster" advertisement.

God I can't keep up with a freaking book, an internet egg hunt, all these mysteries on the show, etc -- it's a full-time f'n job.

Does yous guys thinks that desmonds old girlfriends knews he was on the island?
She probably hopes he is, but she might just be trying to unravel the thing that might have played a part in his disappearance.
Why would the magnets attract his sailboat?
I think the fubar'd his compass.
North star down?
I don't think 50 percent of the people here could spot it, but I guess an experieced captain caould. BAH.

I mean seriously, why are you people quoting this book? Who's read that? They might as well put the answers in fortune cookies.

Does yous guys thinks that desmonds old girlfriends knews he was on the island?
She probably hopes he is, but she might just be trying to unravel the thing that might have played a part in his disappearance.
Why would the magnets attract his sailboat?
The metallic objects on it?That isn't what I meant. She probably heard that he never got to the end and in races like that, there are usually check in points so they would have a record of where he last contacted anyone. Based on that she stumbles upon the Widmore notes of their island work, which happens to be right about where he last checked in. She starts delving in deeper and realizes more cover ups, etc. and she has a ton of money so after not finding the island via conventional ways (she probably chartered helicopters, etc.), she reads more notes and finds the EM weirdness so she sets the ruskies up to look for readings like the "incident," which Widmore knows about because they were contracted to fix things and build the hatch after the leak.

Sound good? I am pulling it out of my ###, but it sounds plausible to me, you silly, silly man. :P

Sounds as good as anything. I think she's trying to find Desmond.

How would Penny know to look for an electromagnetic anomaly??????????????????????????????????????????????????
See my post above. We probably find out more, but I would assume her dad's company built all of the bunkers, etc. for the Hanso folks. There was probably some info she found out about that also mentioned the electromagnetic research that Hanso was doing or something about the work they had to do to contain the electromagnetic weirdness there. The Dharma Initiative was probably there to study the electromagnetic weirdness when somehow they created the leak that caused the incident in @1980 and then had to construct (Widmore again) that hatch and button to contain it.
I never got what the "incident was" I was on  duty.
All Kelvin said was it was a leak, not a full blown release. Other than that we have no idea.Oh, wasn't 1980 right about when Rousseau's ship crashed? I wonder if the same thing happened to as did to flight 815.

Him = Penny's dad?

The island was not built to house Desmond since the tests were going on way before Desmond and the daughter were even thought of.

Henry Gayle = Penny's dad? or the VP of the company?

Who is the real Henry Gayle and how did he end up on the island? Why?

Him = Penny?
Fake Henry looks nothing like the guy in the car that Desmond spoke to, who we know is Mr. Widmore.Probably worth noting that the balloon the real Henry Gale flew(?) in had a large Widmore logo on it.

But why would she be looking for it?

BTW, makes sense to put an electromagnetic monitoring station at one of the poles. The Earth's magnetism naturally channels electromagnetic activity to the poles.

This is why aurora borealis (northern lights) appear at the poles and only come down toward the equator during very strong electromagnetic activity.

Let's discuss the Libby thing again...

She said her hubby's boat's name was Elizabeth, which was named after her (and I guess Libby could be short for Elizabeth).

WTF was she doing in tonight's episode? ....and in the looney bin with Hurley... ...and why was she on Australia, when Desmond wasn't. He was seen with Jack after Jack's surgery.

THAT in and of itself is driving me crazy.

In order for the magnets to attract the boat there would have had to have been another system failure which would mean that Kelvin let it go down... or his partner at the time. Obviously we did not get any mention of this but that is what would have had to have happened.

Also, Sayid and Kelvin parted circa what date? Therefore Kelvin was in the hatch for how long roughly? How did Kelvin get to be on that island?

But magnets still shouldn't attract sailboats. That part is silly.
I don't think it did and I don't think anyone said that. Just coincidence that he was lost in the same area. If she wasn't Widmore's daughter she doesn't have any clue about the island.By the way, did you not catch the part with the storm and how he was knocked unconscious from the waves crashing on his boat. The storm crashed his boat, he just drifted to the island.

Does yous guys thinks that desmonds old girlfriends knews he was on the island?

The North Star is about the easiest thing to spot in the night sky, other than the moon.

But magnets still shouldn't attract sailboats. That part is silly.
That was a pretty strong magnet. If he was already close, that could do it. I'm guessing the magnetic activity messed the plane controls up enough to cause the plane to detect a sudden increase in elevation and automatically adjusting to "drop" to its expected elevation, thereby putting pressure on the aircraft and breaking it in two as it dropped. So, the plane thought they were at 60,000 and started dropping to 30,000 feet, when it was actually already at 30,000 and started dropping to sea level.

Desmond was training in LA, correct? Isn't that where Jack was from and Hurley? Libby is probably also from LA, hence being as the same institution as Hurley. I am assuming she bumped into Desmond in LA, same place that Jack bumped into Desmond.

Desmond met Libby in the US, near LA, which is also where he met Jack. Remember Libby bought Desmond his coffee becuase he used all his US currency on the taxi ride?

Probably worth noting that the balloon the real Henry Gale flew(?) in had a large Widmore logo on it.
The real Henry Gayle was hired by Penny to search the area. Maybe the balloon has tracking equipment on it and that is what the Russians were locating. Could have happened.

So the magnets caused the storm?

They met, and I'm assuming parted, during Desert Storm...1991.

Guys, did everybody miss the storm and Desmond cracking his head on his boat? They never insinuated that the boat was drawn to the island by the magnetic field. After he was knocked unconscious he and his boat drifted to the island.

He just happened to be lucky enough to get to the island.

Can't believe Hurley didn't pancake Michael into the stream and lay on him has he drowned...

BTW, in case any missed the obvious, that was not Agent Cathrine Willows from CSI...that was Libby that gave Desmond the boat.

Have we seen Desmond's gf before?
So how can libby be in the psyche ward with hurley, give desmond the boat named Elizabeth (libby's real name) and fall from the sky in the plane

Not that I think the electromagnetism crashed Desmond's boat, but does anyone else think its interesting that Kelvin first told Desmond that there was no boat and then spent months fixing that boat in secret?

I'm guessing she was watching Desmond race in the boat her husband loved, which she gave Desmond, and he was racing "for love," then disappeared, made her crack. Which is where she met Hurley.

I'm still not sure how she became a flight attendant though.

Probably worth noting that the balloon the real Henry Gale flew(?) in had a large Widmore logo on it.

The foreign guys said something about a flase alarm [Desmond's SYSTEM FAILURE]. I think its clear they were trying to detect the electromagnetism around The Swan, not Gale's balloon.

Maybe Libby was in the loony bin because she was partly responsible for the death of Desmond... at least him going missing and with her husband dying that was to much for her. What was Libby's husband's name?

The race was three years earlier. That's plenty of time to go crazy, recover, and fly to Sydney.

It looked to me like there was more than one guy in yellow suits at first, before Des was dragged to the hatch, right?

How about this:1. Libby is a psychologist and happily married.

2. Her husband dies.

3. She meets Desmond in a coffee shop in LA and thinks hey, why don't I honor the memory of my dead husband by giving his boat to someone that actually needs it.

4. Desmond's boat never finishes the race and Libby is grief stricken because she just killed a guy with her dead husband's boat.

5. Libby's friends and family think she is depressed enough to kill herself and have her committed.

6. Hurley gets committed by his family.

7. Libby watches Cheers rerun about the girls that are attracted to Paul and Norm (chubbers) and realizes that she likes fat guys too and falls for Hurley.

8. Libby stalks Hurley and gets on flight 815.

Except Kelvin just happened to be by the beach when Desmond was there, with enough time to get back to press the button. And he happened to be wearing his yellow Dharma containment suit, which we saw him take off earlier as there really is no "sickness".

WTMF?

So, we have all these people on Flight 815, that have all these connections to each other. We have Desmond and Libby meeting and her giving him the ####### boat that crashes. We have the Others with the names of people who are good and bad . . . . . BUT DESMOND CRASHED THE ####### PLANE BY ACCIDENT!?!?!?

I thought it was blurred vision.

I think it was a concussion/blurry vision thing; Im pretty sure it was only Kelvin.

Kelvin mentioned that Desmond was out there for some time so Kelvin "just happened to be by the beach" is not accurate.

No, he was tricked into crashing the plane. The others knew what he was going to do based on their psychological tests. They set him up perfectly so he would crash that plane. That's how the others knew exactly who was on that plane, and who survived. It was all orchestrated by them.

He probably figured since Desmond didn't get sick the first weeks or months he was there, that the quaranteen/sickness was a hoax.

Good point...probably had his suit ripped by accident knowing that desmond would see it and follow.

AND WHAT'S UP WITH THE "LOOK" JACK AND KATE EXCHANGED AT THE VERY END??????????? IT WAS A CONFIDENT NOD.
