Live Experts Draft (1 Viewer)

Interesting Comments:

2. LJ - KFFL's comments on LT breaking down 2 years in a row in the fantasy playoffs are dead wrong. You wouldn't think an "Expert" would buy into that myth.

12. Manning - this has been debated ad nauseum plenty of times before. I know lots of people on the boards still believe in it, but taking a QB that early is a bad value decision.

That's as far as they've gotten as of this post.

I went to 123 Fantasy Football's website and they have an article on there titled "The Truth about Fantasy Football Drafting". The writer says he does not draft guys in the first 9 rounds with injury problems/history. Then for his second pick he desired Brian Westbrook, a guy who has yet to play a full 16 game season. Instead he selected Caddy, who played 14 games last year.

This draft has now entered round 10 - some interesting notes (start 1 QB/2RB/2WR/1TE/1D/1K, 1ppr):

RB Combos taken by same team:

FootballMinds: Foster (5.4, 52 overall)/DWilliams (7.4, 76 overall)

FF Starters: Dillon (5.9, 57 overall)/Maroney (7.9, 81 overall)

FF Champs: Benson (5.3, pick 51 overall))/TJones (6.10, 70 overall)

TE's went off the board quick, probably due to the starting requirements.

KFFL has taken 2 QB's coming off injuries - Palmer and Culpepper

Dayne fell all the way to 8.12 to FFToolbox.

Bell was taken at 3.12 by DruFF (He took Manning at 1.12). Instead of backing up Bell with Dayne, DruFF decided to nab Ahman Green and Bledsoe at the latest turn (with his picks at 7.12 and 8.1) :wall: . We'll see how that strategy plays out, but if I've got Manning, I'm waiting until really late in the draft to get my backup QB.

Huh?1. LT failed to gain 100 yards in the last 5 games, and had 1 td. For him, that's breaking down. Plain and simple, he sucked at the end of last year. 2004 he was solid.

12. Depends what you project. Go put in 42 tds, 4200 yards, and DD will tell you to grab him 5th. So it's hardly clear cut.

1. The exact quote is "L.T. is clearly our second choice, but he has broken down during the crucial fantasy stretch each of the past two seasons due to injury." That is patently wrong as even you pointed out. LT was fine two seasons ago. He was a fantasy stud accumulating 354 total yards and 6 TD's in the fantasy playoffs.2. If you are projecting Manning to have his second best career year ever and one of the greatest for a QB ever, then by all means go ahead. I'd say your projection is way too optimistic, but you never know. Manning has thrown for more than 33 TD's only once in his 8 years starting. 6 of those years he threw for less than 30 TD's. Historically, a QB has thrown for more than 40 TD's only 4 times in the history of the NFL. Manning is one of those guys, so that is a point for you though.

The team drafting him also stated "I like the fact the Manning can be cemented in for 16 games." He's sat out week 16 2 out of the last 3 years and would of sat out in '04 if he hadn't of been trying to break the TD record that week.

not necessarily...A) depends on your projections and the scoring system

B) depends on where you think the other QBs will get drafted

It's nice to see Chad Johnson go at the end of the top WR tier...which is where he should be going.

I would agree with both points actually. My initial statement should of had some qualifiers similar to yours.
