Toomer - Predictions on how he'll do this week (1 Viewer)

Just some FYI points: CBS indicates Toomer was the most added player this week in all their fantasy leagues, so a lot of people are big on him. Last week against Philly, he posted career high stats for a game - most likely the product of Shockey being banged up, but also because of Manning's improved play this season and possible chemistry developing between him and Toomer. After his outstanding performance, Toomer needed four bags of IV fluids pumped into him because he was so dehydrated, but seems ready to go this week. So what does it look like heading into Seattle? Shockey is still banged up, Plex is reportedly experiencing some back problems (listed as probable) after last week's physical game. I'm not suggesting Toomer comes anywhere near the production we saw from him last week, but, given his current situation, what are some realistic expectations for him against Seattle?

4 for 70, mayyyybe 1 TD

Toomer & Eli actually had some very good chemistery at the end of last season.

He saw man coverage on the outside all last week. He'll face much more zone this week in Seattle. How well can Manning and the NYG receivers find those holes in the zone coverage? Regardless, I don't think you'll see the same opportunities to go over the top with no safeties to worry about this week. If they do attempt that Hamelin and Boulware will have opportunities to head-hunt or pick off multiple passes.

:goodposting: Excellent points, Shick!

Toomer is notorious for having a blow up week, then disappearing for a few weeks. Not saying that it WILL happen this week, but if history proves anything, he won't have much of a big game.

Not only that, but the man coverage he was facing was Philly's 3rd string CB after the first 2 got hurt, so Manning was focusing on the weak spot in the defense. I don't think it will be the same situation in Seattle.
