Actually I think Shaun was saying that before the second CT scan on Tuesday confirmed the fracture.Texican is correct hat he believes th epower of prayer will put him on the field sooner than anticipated - but the medical staff has a more authoritative say on whether Holmgren will choose to play him.
4 weeks. they're both right.
He was - this is correct - only thing we do not really got I guess is the real timeline -- Is Jaws right on 4-6 weeks or is Total Acess right with 2-4 -- HUGE difference IMO.Actually I think Shaun was saying that before the second CT scan on Tuesday confirmed the fracture.Texican is correct hat he believes th epower of prayer will put him on the field sooner than anticipated - but the medical staff has a more authoritative say on whether Holmgren will choose to play him.
Typical healing time for fractures is 6-8. With an NFL player's access to rehab, PT, medical staff, the 4-6 might sound right.Again, I don't think we know the extent of the fracture. I don't think it was displaced.
Metatarsal (foot), not metacarpal (hand). It is weight-bearing.The tests show a cracked 4th metacarpal which is the long bone next to the "pinky". No weight bearing and is a better rehab time, I would say may be back after the bye, 4 weeks at the longest.
Of course. Any inury can/will.Can this type of injury linger if he returns too soon?
I doubt simple fractures like this have any long-term effects if they are allowed to heal. As long as it's not a fracture/dislocation that involves the TMT joint ligaments at the base of the metatarsal. Those types of injuries can be devastating long-term.Or even if he returns when its fully healed, can it affect his play, or is he expected to be back at 100%?
Thanks Shuke! I was in that other thread with you and Jene. I would just like to add that the 4th metatarsal is not next to the "pinky" (toe). The "pinky" toe is the 5th phalanx and would articulate with the 5th metatarsal. The 4th metatrsal articulates with the 4th phalanx (the one next to the "pinky" toe)Metatarsal (foot), not metacarpal (hand). It is weight-bearing.The tests show a cracked 4th metacarpal which is the long bone next to the "pinky". I think that it was a mis-quote. Stress fractures should not be displaced, and Alexander would be in a cast if it was. Also, the time frame would be greater. Fractures should not linger if allowed to heal properly. He can make the fracture worse if he comes back too soon. It all depends on how big the crack is and how much blood supply is getting to that part of the metatarsal to say when Alexander will be back.I believe someone stated that it was displaced.
