Steelers defense takes hit today at practice (1 Viewer)

Ramifications? Is the Steelers D on a rapid decline? Can i actually considering playing a RB against them?
No, :loco: Bench LJ.
 I'm seriously considering benching LJ this week, so info on the Steelers D this week is helpful. I have Rudi vs. TB and Tatum vs. Oak, and LJ seems the odd man out this week unless PIT's D has some holes. :blackdot:
The injuries sustained yesterday shouldn't affect the Steelers run defense too much.

Definatly not a time to :towelwave:
Your obsession is unbecoming, really. You also cannot spell worth a damn.
To post and work is hard! Spelling is the least of my concerns ......... again nice insult from Evilgrin (wouldn't expect anything else)As for the KC vs Pitt betting line........... TAKE KC as long as LJ is going to play, but it seems like he will be ok.As for the Hawks: our smile is: :coffee:
Where was the insult? Merely stating a fact. I post at work too. Also, stop with the "poor me" garbage. I don't stalk you and insult you, I only fire back when you make unsolicited appearances in Steeler threads with the sole purpose of instigating. If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

Just heard that Porter has definitely been ruled out of this week's game against KC. Arnold Harrison will start in his place and recently acquired Chad Brown may see some action on passing downs.

No link yet, this is breaking news...The Steelers defense was dealt a major blow today when both LB Joey Porter and CB Deshea Townsend went down with hamstring injuries. Bill Cowher had a rare Wednesday briefing to announce the injuries and said both could be game time decisions for the game this week against Kansas City.If Porter is unable to go then 3rd string LB Arnold Harrison would get the start because backup LB James Harrison was injured last week in San Diego. If Townsend can't play then Bryant McFadden would get the start at CB. The Steelers are especially thin at CB since Ricardo Colclough was placed on IR last week.
:link: Just checked the Steeler boards an nothing about this. I say :bs: If not, we will still handle KC!!
Just heard it on ESPN-Pittsburgh radio, smart guy. Why would I make this up?
No need for name calling, I would just like some confirmation. I can not find this information anywhere, and as a Steeler fan I would think you would desire some proof as well.
Dude, you just called him a liar and said his post was BS. I'll take Godsbro's news about the Stillers anytime I can get it.

Brown may see alot of action.....unfortunately, it will be of the "look at that RB blow past me" variety.**** Butkus is better these days than Brown.

I doubt that Brown will see alot of action this week. Arnold Harrison will start. He looked good in the preseason and had 2 sacks and 8 tackles in the final preseason game (I know, I'm just saying). Brown was brought in for depth and to fill in in case of emergency because he already knows the system, unlike just about anyone else they could pick up off the waiver wire. As I said before he may see some action on some passing downs but the Steelers aren't counting on Brown to be a savior.

More Steeler injury news:

OG Kendall Simmons will not play because of an ice burn on his left foot he received when he fell asleep wearing a cooling device to treat a bruised heel. Simmons will be replaced by Chris Kemoeatu, who will make his first NFL start.

Simmons is perceived by many to be the weak link in the Steelers o-line and was aready in danger of losing his starting gig to Kemoeatu. If Kemoeatu plays well this week, he could take over as the starter at right guard for the Steelers.

Also CB Deshea Townsend did not practice again today and it looks like an almost certainty that Bryany McFadden will start in his place.

Steelers' Simmons out for Sunday

Friday, October 13, 2006

By Gerry Dulac, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

The Steelers will be without another starter for Sunday's home game against the Kansas City Chiefs when right guard Kendall Simmons said he will not play because of an ice burn on his left foot.

Simmons, who did not practice again today, will be replaced by Chris Kemoeatu, who will make his first NFL start. Simmons has the equivalent of frostbite on his foot after he left a cooling device on too long to treat a heel injury.

"It's disappointing anytime [the injury] is something that simple," Simmons said. "It's more of a freak accident."

The Steelers will already be without Pro Bowl linebacker Joey Porter (hamstring) and probably won't have cornerback Deshea Townsend (hamstring), who also didn't practice for the third day in a row.

 Any chance the Steelers go 1-15? Where is BGP with that karma crap when you need him?

When it rains it pours. Pittsburgh might have problems reaching 5 wins this year. I can't say that I feel bad for them, they had way too many things go their way against CIN, IND, DEN, and SEA last postseason. It all equals out in the end.

I'm sure the reason you can't say you feel bad for them is because you just don't like the Steelers and their fans (since some of us can be obnoxious). Sure they did have some breaks along the way but what superbowl winner doesn't? They went through the freaking gauntlet (like no other team has ever had to) and survived. I'm happy for at least 5 years now regardless of what they do.
