The Steelers will be without another starter for Sunday's home game against the Kansas City Chiefs when right guard Kendall Simmons said he will not play because of an ice burn on his left foot.
Simmons, who did not practice again today, will be replaced by Chris Kemoeatu, who will make his first NFL start. Simmons has the equivalent of frostbite on his foot after he left a cooling device on too long to treat a heel injury.
"It's disappointing anytime [the injury] is something that simple," Simmons said. "It's more of a freak accident."
The Steelers will already be without Pro Bowl linebacker Joey Porter (hamstring) and probably won't have cornerback Deshea Townsend (hamstring), who also didn't practice for the third day in a row.
