Game Thread W15 - Cleveland V Baltimore (1 Viewer)

An Anderson INT leads to a short field and a J Lewis TD run. Boller in, McNair had his throwing hand stepped on during the last series. No word yet as to severity, he's back on the sideline.

Steve McNair came out of Sunday's game in the first quarter after having his hand stepped on by Browns inside linebacker Andra Davis.

Kyle Boller took McNair's place for Baltimore. X-rays have come back negative on McNair's hand and he was seen throwing on the sidelines but Boller has remained in the game and McNair is wearing a headset, although the injury has been called a mere "cut". Dec. 17 - 1:20 pm et - Rotoworld

MAy I puke?Since McNair is my starter in the NFFC and I need to have a BIG week??UGH
I'll join you ;)Maybe 2 consecutive Boller turnovers will influence a change? Nothing's worse than losing a starter 8 minutes into a fantasy playoff game with a semi-serviceable guy on your bench.I know, I know, :football:

Boller certainly looks rusty but the defense and a 14-point lead may be bad news for you McNair owners. They might be able to afford to keep him in there the rest of the way, regardless of McNair's condition.

Has Mark Clayton had a target yet?

is he playing???
:X 1 rush for -1 in the GameCenter. Failed end-around... yes, he's playing.
that just hit my league's live scoring - other than that, I see no TARGETS, which was my question.
You also asked if he was PLAYING.But, as far as targets,

If you go to sportsline.com and click Full Play-By-Play, you'll find out that McNair targeted him on the second drive.

Thanks - I know I can do research for that info, but these threads are specifically for those type of questions and for commentary on the game.

Derek Anderson hasn't just been good, he's been great the past 3 weeks, and all against good to great defenses.

Considering his competition thus far you'd expect him to rip up lesser defenses but he hasn't had a chance to play them yet.

Go Cleveland!

If McNair is out for the rest of the year (wishful thinking) the Ravens are screwed.

ETA: Didn't see severity of hand puncture, I guess McNair is okay.

why is demetrius williams getting more looks than mark clayton
Just diversifying the offense a little. Plus I think they have high hopes for Williams; he's big and fast.ETA: Clayton will be a big part of the passing game for years to come, have no fear. And as we speak, there's Clayton with a great catch.

Usually, new QBs have low yards per attempt. You might see anywhere from 5 YPA to "mid 6" YPA. Derek Anderson came into today with a YPA of 7.7! And today he is at 7.3. Those numbers (7+ YPA) are extremely rare for a young QB in his first year of play. The only other ones I can think of off the top of my head are Dan Marino, Ben Rothlisberger, Dante Culpepper and Philip Rivers. And Anderson is doing it with FAR less talent around him than any of the other four.Another thing to notice is that, in the blowout 27-7 loss to the Steelers, Anderson did not throw more INTs than TDs. That is something you see very good QBs do. He didn't crumble. So yes, there are positives in the numbers. But the most important thing is that it has only been like 3 games and not a full season.

How horrible is Crennel and the Browns coaching staff at challenging calls? Everytime I see them play, they challenge like 2 or 3 obvious calls. Is there a point to what they're doing or is their judgement just that terrible?

That's disappointing for the Ravens not to get a TD after the Boller-to-Clayton bomb. In addition, there's a Heap limp off and gimpiness from J Ogden, two guys Balt can ill afford to be without.

Just enough to win today for the Ratbirds. Boller was shaky in relief but did hit two long passes that were key. The defense was chopped up at times but picked Anderson twice and stiffened when it counted. Now it's time to get those banged up guys, like McNair, Mason, Heap and Ogden, rested and healthy, while continuing to play for a first round bye. Next two weeks: at Pittsburgh, home vs Buffalo.
