There are a LOT fewer updates if you use the download from online, but of course, that is a 3+GB DL on its own.Damn, there's a lot of updates once you get the beta disc.I WANNA PLAY ALREADY!!

Welshers and Dawdlers Beware!
This plays and looks A LOT like Guild Wars. However, the open areas have everyone, vs instances.
I see creature names in white and blue. I am assuming blue are not aggressive towards you unless you want, while white will attack if you get close?
I figured out how to use my bow finally
Now I can use it in melee and am actually doing a lot better than trying to fight everything with a knife once they get too close. 
Swift Shot is pretty sweet so far.
Level 4. I will try to add you all as friends a little later. Added Snogger.
I see creature names in white and blue. I am assuming blue are not aggressive towards you unless you want, while white will attack if you get close?

BTW.. Color code is usally the lvl compared to you.. Light green is Super easy as a .05 hooker.. Green your reaching .25 hooker .. Blue .. well now, still easy but will cost you .50.. White.. Getting difficult now.. gonna cost you a buck... Yellow.. Almost out of your league.. $25 a minute.. Orange=$50 a minute With some luck you'll last but basically out of your league Red = No chance in heck you last the night might as well just Kiss your butt 
and go home.

Couple of questions -
How do you set your default attack? It is currently the freaking dagger, so I have to keep clicking a bow special attack to keep that up.
Where can we track our XP/level progress? Didn't see it on the Character sheet.
Is there a level cap to carry over from the open beta, as it was for 15 before? I would as soon get a few to 15 if that is the case.

I ended up putting the short sword and upgraded bow into a quick slot and somehow, that seemed to work. I also destroyed the knife so my guy wasn't tempted.I'm completely brain-dead on this stuff.

Bottom of the screen is the XP/LVL bar. Hover your mouse over it and it will tell you where you are at and how much you have left to the next level.Not quite clear on your Level cap question. All Pre-order Open Beta characters are capped at 15. Those characters will roll-over to the live version at lvl 15.I was able to get my first character to lvl 8 in a few hours, so should easily reach 15 for it before the end of Sunday. My plan is to have two characters at lvl 15 and then to start crafting as a cook with one and if I still have time a scolar with the other.

Don't believe them, they're just trying to reduce load on their servers. I was hitting upwards of 1MB/s on their server, vs. 70-80/Kb/s through bittorrent.I"ll try to pickup the pre-order on Saturday. I'll probably try to get Maelstrom, but that's probably long gone.So they recommend using bittorrent to download the install for the fastest speed. At the speed I'm downloading I'll have the complete file in 1 week, 3 days, and 13 hours.

I was on from 6am to 9:30am.. Then again from about Noon to 4pm..I really don't like this game..
