48 dead in 12 days.

This is interesting to me because the same thing has been going on in Camden, NJ recently.

Not to be :tinfoilhat: , but putting a tainted product on the street sure would be an easy way to get rid of the hardcore junkies and scare the rest away.

What amazed me the most, was the quote by one junkie in Camden. When she found out that her cousin ODed from the tainted heroin, her first thoughts weren't of sorrow for her cousin or fear of bad drugs, but she wondered if she could get her hands on that powerful of stuff. :(

It's why they stamp the packets of herion; it's a marketing tool.

After a while they'll switch the hard stuff out for cut up product and make huge profits. The addicts will continue to chase the high.

Peterman: Not a chance. I'm afraid I'll just have to find someone else to

accompany me on my journey. The dark continent is no place for an addict.

New scene.

Elaine's office, Kramer rushes in.

Kramer: Oh, Elaine. Yeah.

Elaine: Kramer, you look terrible.

Kramer: Look, I need the keys to your apartment, I gotta take a shower.

Elaine: What's wrong with your shower?

Kramer: There's no water pressure.

Elaine: Why don't you just go see Jerry?

Just as Kramer is about to answer, Mr. Peterman walks past Elaine's open office

door and pauses.

Kramer: Jerry's got nothing. Newman's got nothing. You're the only one I know

who's got the good stuff, and I need it bad, baby, cause I feel like I got bugs

crawling up my skin. Now you gotta help me out.

Peterman (busting in): Not on my watch! (Grabs Kramer by the collar) I won't

have you turning my office into a den of iniquity! Get your fix somewhere else!

(Throws Kramer out and slams the door closed)

Elaine: Mr Peterman! What are you doing?

Peterman: Elaine, you're out of control. You need help.

Elaine: Huh?

Peterman: I know what you're going through. I too once fell under the spell of

opium. It was 1979. I was travelling the Yangtzee in search of a Mongolian

horsehair vest. I had got to the market after sundown, all of the clothing

traders had gone, but a different sort of trader still lurked about. "Just a

taste," he said. That was all it took.

Elaine: Mr. Peterman, I don't know what's going on here. I am not addicted to

anything.

Peterman: Oh, Elaine. The toll road of denial is a long and dangerous one.

The price? Your soul. Oh, and by the way, you have til' 5:00 to clear out your

desk. You're fired.

A lot of dope has stamps. Back in the 90's I remember the famous "Viper" coming out of Philly. A lot of shops put logos or names on their bags. This way they can be identified. You get a good bag on the street and people will be jonesing that particular bag...even if the dope inside is different.

Yeah, like the capsules on The Wire. WMDs, Yellow-tops, etc...LSD and Ecstasy are also stamped with "brands", more innocuous than Vipers and WMDs though.

I hope you don't mind these questions then. Is it instantly addictive as I have heard? I have heard anecdotal stories that one hit, and you are instantly addicted. Is this true?What percentage of the population would become addicted to heroin if they tried it? I am asking for your educated guess.I have heard horror stories about this drug taking over people's lives. Is that your experience? Or was it like alcohol, destroys some but other handle it recreationally fine?I know may seem like simplistic questions, but I am looking to expand my knowledge on this issue from a public health standpoint.

I would often wake up to a speedball to my neck. Three bags of hey-ron and a tenth of coke. I figured the quickest way to get it to my brain was to hit the jugular. I would then puke and be ready for the hurdles the day would present. Some people drink coffee...I shot speedballs.
