miight be very risky telling guys to shy away from drafting Addai esp. in ppr leagues. Last year he showed he can and will play hurt as he came up big in Houston after what looked like a season ending ankle injury just ther week before. But i hope lots of guys take your advice so i can get him where he likely should be going anyways in the second round this year. The indy staff and GM must feel like he can carry the load as well as thye did not try much to replace Rhodes. I jeep waitign for them to pick up a Dillon type tp use and start if Addai goes down but they arnt doing so. This tells me he will be fine and produce big numbers this year. I really think his stats will live up to his draft position once the year is done.

David could this lead to weekly longer or half hour shows during the season about weekly rankings and WSIS, pick up type stuff?

Wow! I made a post about this a few weeks ago and it went virtually unnoticed(except for one reply from Pasquino) and now you launch something on video. This is what I was talking about but since I got virtually no response from my post I figured that it wasn't going to happen.

My Request

That's how I envisioned it too. I remember a few years ago there was a weekly streaming video that had Jaworski and some some other Fantasy experts (sorry I can't remember you, but I now you post here). Every week was "start sit" type of show. It was about half an hour long. I loved it. There is a void in the market now for a program like that.

One never knows where this will all lead, but the current buzz in the entertainment industry is DEMAND TV. Short clips that people can download to their Video Ipods, Iphones, etc. On Networks is one of the premier companies leading this charge with shows on Golf Techniques, Cooking, World of Warcraft, Stock Tips, and now Fantasy Football. Last year, ABC's hit TV show Lost had something like 23% of the people watch the show at a different time because they recorded it to their DVR. These people then generally fast-forward past the commercials and watch it when it's convenient for them. DEMAND TV fits the new paradigm. People want quick takes. They want something to do while they have a few free minutes in their lives. We are becoming the Iphone generation and believe shows like this are EXACTLY what people want. And advertisers are feeling the same thing. They want to be associated with these hit shows. So at least for the near future, we think we are positioning ourselves correctly by being partnered with a great company in On Networks. It's possible that this turns into a longer show at some point, but it's also possible that On Networks just produces more short shows. Either way, we are happy to get our foot in the door and we will continue to do our best within the five minutes we are allotted each week.

I am in shock. I love all of the written reports, etc, but between the podcasts and now online TV shows once a week, this is by far the best place for fantasy football on the web  . I'd say keep up the good work, but you seem to do that anyway. Keep this up and you'll be getting a call from the Eastcoast Sports Promotional Network....oh wait, you guys do quality work and do research......nevermind. Outstanding!!

He has to get rid of that high-top fade.

edit: Rest was really well-done

nice work.

Was it just me or did I not see a single FBG logo or website plug in that video segment?

What gives with that, David and Joe?

btw, I plan on taking Addai at #4 if LJ is gone

Wow. Cecil and Bloom. Two guys made for radio. <bada bing!>. Only kidding. Excellent show. Fast paced and great for those that can't sit through 90 minutes of podcasts.

I like the podcasts myself. But we all know the guy that wants it in 2 minutes.

Good going guys.

How soon would it be until you guys have your own channel on Direct TV? That would be awesome! You could call it FBG 24/7.

I really enjoyed that, thanks. Even if I do disagree with your analysis of McGahee, Benson, and Addai. I have my doubts about McGahee's durability, much more so than Benson. Yes, Addai will share the load some, but his ability as a receiver will compensate for that and live up to his ADP. Benson is better than what you think he is, and playing for that offense, who will run his legs off (like you said Balt will do with McGahee), Benson will be a very valuable fantasy producer. I don't think Benson is as soft as you think.

On Networks has put the money into this so it's officially their show. They have partnered with us (because we know our stuff and can deliver the content) and will help spread the word. I sense that we will get to an area that displays a little more Footballguys.com going forward. But right now, On Networks needs to secure sponsors to keep this thing going strong. And I think it's a much easier sell to potential advertisers to not confuse the issue regarding the partnership between the two companies and to have BEJ logos showing up everywhere. Without logos, On Networks can now market this in all the ways that are available to them without any limitations. Besides the downloads to the Ipods, their plan is to have these shows running on cable/satellite TV, etc as fillers. Easier to do that as a clean show.By now you guys know how we operate. Build it. Improve it. and then worry about making money. And usually we never ever get to that third part. It's just not what motivates this company. This is a great deal for Footballguys to get into a growing segment with an excellent company like On Networks. We are letting them call all the shots while we work on making the best shows possible. Everything else will work itself out.

Can someone tell me what on network is and if it is on cable
LOLthat's a keeper  FWIW well done all, and I admit I was skeptical as I clicked the link. This is how ESPN SHOULD be. No-kidding analysis w/o the circus show goofiness and slobbering all over the "pet player" of the day (etc etc) Also loved that while I didn't always agree, y'all didn't sit on the fence but took very definite stands. I could frankly give a rat's - um ear - about the graphics or sound effects - but they were pretty subtle and didn't really detract from this. Again well done.

Cecil needs a Beanie (for those of you old enough to remember that cartoon) to cover the Kid 'n Play doo. Loved the show and agree with most of the analysis (FWP owner here!). Not sure about Henry finishing top 5, but he will fer sher outperform his ADP at #11. Nice job fellas...

Thanks for the excellent response. Now that I think of it, Cecil and Bloom did have "footballguys.com" underneaththeir names when the graphic came up, so that's a start.Best of luck on this endeavor. Hopefully, I'll see this content show up on my TiVo very soon. They always havea few little 3 minute short video segments downloaded to my box for me to view at my leisure. :useless:

PS I have to agree, Cecil needs to lose the "What's Happenin" hairdo - you're white, get over it already

:useless:

awesome graphics and presentation
Agreed. Really well done. I second Capella's comments on the flat top, and I'll add issue with the striped shirt. I think this comes off a lot better if Lamney looks more clean cut/conservative/professional, kinda like an Adam Shecter. As hotly-debated in the FFA, a tie adds instant credibility in any setting...

Hey everyone,

Glad folks are enjoying the show! We worked really hard to hit the ground running, and it's gratifying to hear that it's going over well so far. One down, many more to go.

A couple quick notes:

1) Though David gives me much of the credit, a lot of the look of the show is the work of the actual cinematographer/editor/graphic designer of the show, Jim Webb, an outstanding visual artist here in Austin, TX. I handle all the the producing and directing duties, but Jim is amazing when it comes to the technical implementation.

2) As David noted, the show is owned and paid for by ONnetworks.com, so that's why it isn't branded as a full footballguys product. But they have really enjoyed working with footballguys, and ON's products have worldwide reach, so hopefully we'll be bringing even more people to the FBG community via the show.

Thanks again everyone!

marc

Still seems to be you guys could get some branding or promo time up front -- even a mention/graphic of "footballguys.com" early on would be huge.
