3 redraft leagues in the past 2 weeks...

Romo is going late !

I found Santonio Holmes to be the best wr 3 in each draft when my turn came up

Tatum Bell/Morency makes for nice RB depth later on

Eli Manning going where he does makes me laugh inside

10 team redraft TD heavy and ppr yesterday.

Owner with the #1 pick swapped it with the guy in the 6spot, and also got his 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounders, while giving up his 5th, 6th, and 7th round picks. And he still ended up with Gore at 1.06.

1.07 was Gates and 1.08 took Manning. LJ slid all the way to me at 1.09.

Adrian Peterson went late 3rd round.

Portis was the 23rd rb off the board.

Brodie Croyle and Tavaris Jackson were both drafted.

Farve went undrafted.

Agreed, I really like what he did his rookie year and with Ben healthy and a new more passer-friendly offense, I like Holmes to reach 1000K and 6 tds. Basically the same production you would get from Andre Johnson, but 5-7 rounds later.

tom Brady went 6 overall

AD went 13 overall

I got MJD with the 47 pick

the team with manning drafted Bulger in the 4th

the team with brees dafted Mcnabb in the 5 or sixth.

(4 points per passing TD and 1 point for 25 yards passing)

On guy dafted all cowboys except Reggie Bush and Reggie Wayne. but i got TO

LJ fell to 1.09

TO was first WR off the board at 2.04 (then CJ at 2.05 and Smith at 2.08)

Wayne (3.02) went before Harrison (3.04)

Gates went 4.04

McNabb went 3.12 behind Manning (2.02), Palmer (2.09), Brady (3.01), Bulger (3.06), and Brees (3.10)

The best value at QB seemed to be the Romo (7.09) - Kitna (7.02) - Vince Young (8.08) tier.

Thomas Jones fell to 4.03

Portis fell to 3.03

AP went at 4.02

Chicago and Baltimore D's both went in the 6th.

I saw several headscratchers at RB in a redraft league - DeAngelo Williams going way early (rd 3, before Foster). LT owner not handcuffing with Turner. In this league run and shoot is a legal lineup, but even so the guy who waited to draft his RB #1 until the 4th has Clinton Portis, Warrick Dunn and Kevin Jones (but not Betts, Norwood, Tatum Bell) - the all - injury challenged RB stable.

QB2s were severely overdrafted in one of my leagues by a third of the owners(4 out of 12), and basically all within a round of each other. Made it impossible to jump into the run, even if you wanted to, if you were at the head/tail of the round. I'm used to waiting patiently for the value to drop in my lap at quarterback, but those 4 basically slayed that idea this season. It left a ton of servicable RBs available though.

2 or 3 owners in another league overdrafted their 2nd QBs as well. Odd.

How far did Larry Johnson slide?

How far did Adrian Peterson climb?

Was somebody sold on McNabb's knee?

Who did somebody gamble on?
And I think I may have taken the biggest risk going RB-QB-TE-Defense (defense heavy league -.25 per yard allowed and -.5 per point allowed) before selecting WR1 or RB 2draft link college league that has been together since 1995. All teams constant. no guppies (well one guy is a nut, but he's won 2 of last 3 years)

interestingly after 12 rbs in 1st round, there went qb and 5 wr's... (says something about lack of rb depth, too many rbbcs and the impact that ball busting receivers (smith c johnson and owens) can have on a roster.

I got LJ at #8. :popcorn:Other surprises IMO were Vince Young and Norwood in the 4th, Deangelo Williams going before Foster, Crumpler being the #8 TE taken, and Morency went before Brandon Jackson.

Can I just say for the record that this thread is

I understand that there are guppies in every draft that skew the results and that different leagues scoring systems cause certain players to rise and fall anywere between a few slots to a couple of rounds....but reading this thread is making my day.

Good stuff!

Maybe you guys that drafted this past weekend can just post the results of the top three rounds ???

:wall:

23. TO

24. Harrison

25. Benson

26. Holt

27. Wayne

28. Brady

29. Fitzgerald

30. Gates

Wow, I just realized Edge didn't go untill 5.2! Caddy and Lynch went before him. Thats silly.
I'd definitely take Caddy over Edge. Then again my method is very unorthodoxed but effective nonetheless.

LJ went 1.5

AP went in the 4th.

Vince Young was the second QB off the board. (UT homer)

Donovan McNabb went fairly early as well. Top 4, I believe.

Cutler went ridiculously early in our league.

Travis Henry slipped to me in the 4th round due to knee concerns. It was post-injury, pre-MRI and I played it up. :bag:
even if you did play it up i dont understand what kind of guppies didnt know the same info as you and suprised you didnt take him in the 2nd (if you had a late pick) or 3rd.

The biggest surprise in my 10 team $200 auction league was that McGahee went for $1 more than Rudi, $1 less than Westbrook, and $2 less than SA. McGahee was the only back of note left on the board and two guys were shorthanded at RB. I love auctions.

Tons of stuff.

Not quite a shark league, even though it's in it's 6th year.

Not very proud, but it's a $ league, so what the hey.

12 team redraft

Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 1 WR, 2 RB/WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 3 IDP

With the run of QBs in the 2nd, you'd think this was QB scoring heavy, but:

Any TD=6

30 yrd pass=1

15 yrd rush/rec=1

25 yrd ret=1

INT/Fumb. Lost = -2

Normal kicking pts

Solo/PD=1

Sack/FR/INT=3

FF=2

1.4 Reggie Bush

1.9 Frank Gore (*your humble UH)

1.12 Tom Brady

2.3 Vince Young

2.4 Rudi Johnson (*)

2.5 Drew Brees

2.6 Matt Hasselbeck

2.7 Donovan McNabb

2.9 Tony Romo

3.9 Torry Holt (*)

4.1 Matt Leinart

4.4 Brandon Jacobs (*)

4.6 DeAngelo Williams

5.9 Andre Johnson (*)

5.10 Nate Kaeding

It goes on and on.

Needless to say, I did okay:

QBs: Kitna, Cutler, McNair

RBs: Gore, Rudi, Jacobs, Betts, Morency, Robinson

WRs: Holt, A.Johnson, B.Edwards, V.Jackson

TEs: Crumpler, Scheffler

K: Mare

IDP: Bulluck, Briggs, Witherspoon, Ware

:banned:

Had two drafts this weekend - none of the same guys in either draft. I was surprised to find the strength WR's picked near the end of the 5th and beginning of the 6th rounds: Anquan Boldin and Andre Johnson in both leagues were picked late in the 5th round.

:lmao: I got LJ at 1.4 and Travis Henry at 2.9 in a 12 team redraft. I think people were scared off by the status of Henry's knee at the time. Bush went 1.3 :bye: and both Gates and Palmer went in the second.

Also in a startup Dynasty two weeks ago, and the redraft last week I took Crumpler in both as like the 12-14th TE off the board.

In a 10 team redraft having Willie Parker fall to me in the 3rd rd. Can i say CHAMPIONSHIP!! LOL Not quite but not bad either. Here is my team even though I reached for Bush.

1.03 R.Bush

2.08 S.Smith

3.03 W.Parker

4.08 Lee Evans

5.03 J.Walker

6.08 D.McNabb

7.03 Miami DEF

8.08 B.Edwards

9.03 A.Green

10.08 S.Graham

11.03 B.Jones

12.08 J.Norwood

13.03 B.Rothlisberger

14.08 S.Gostwoski

15.03 Green Bay DEF

We start 1 QB, 2RB, 3 WR/TE, 1 PK, 1 DEF.

We get 0.5 PPR so I felt Bush would give me some value, and with LJ holding out and Gore with injuries I wasnt sure. Anyways i know after drafting I could have held out on McNabb and got P.Rivers the next rd and could have taken a RB or WR there. I should have waited on my kicker but overall I dont think I did bad. I would like to have a better DEF but Miami was ranked 5th I think and DEF is the top scorer in our league so I couldnt wait any longer. I feel I did pretty good.

4 qbs in round one leading to team # 6 drafting frank gor round one and travis henry round two. No wrs taken in rounds 1-2, and me laning AP in round 5.2 leading to several simultaneous what do you want for him offers?

How far did Larry Johnson slide? How far did Adrian Peterson climb? Was somebody sold on McNabb's knee?Who did somebody gamble on?
Just did a 14-team draft - PPR, with QBs only getting 30yds/pt (compared to 10yds/pt for rushing and 15yds/pt receiving)LJ went 5th - no concerns for that ownerI took AP at 3.14. I had last pick, and those 26 spots between picks can be killers, so I felt I had to make a move. Lynch was taken right before. Deuce, Cadillac, and Julius Jones were the next RBs off the board. I thought taking a risk and going for a potential stud was worth the risk over those other guys.McNabb 3.05 - I guess they were sold on the kneeBAL went in the 4th (!) and CHI in the 5thLamont Jordan fell to 8.11 (109th pick)I was very happy to have Bush fall to me with the 14th pick (remember, this is a PPR league)

Just had a redraft $ league non ppr. LJ went #3/AP went 4th round/Biggest suprise was Matt Lienert in the 3rd. I dont think Matt goes before 7th in a dynasty

Parker in the 3rd and Norwood in the 12th are just plain ridiculous. Even Green in the 9th is borderline.

Chris Henrey - Cincy is climbing a round a day :) I have drafted everyday since last Saturday when I got hinm in the 17th round of a PPR league. He's been climbing each day this week. On Thursday he went in the 13th of a WCOFF Satellite, Friday the 12th and this afternoon in the 11th :excited:

No doubt he's a nice WR3 for the stretch run and playoffs, and he'd be huge if CJ or TJ went down, but the 11th round? Too early for my taste.

Here are the results from one of my $$$ leagues.

We start 1/2/2 with a RB/WR flex instead of TE. It was WEIRD...we only get 3 points for passing TDs, but QBs started flying off early.... two of the guys that grabbed QBs early were working of sheets from Fanball.... Not sure if they think they have some strategy change.. but it made for nice value for the rest of us... My picks are marked with an *

1.01 LT

1.02 SJax

1.03 LJ

1.04 SA

1.05 Bush no PPR....so this thrilled me, as I sat at 1.7????

1.06 Addai

1.07 Gore *

1.08 Manning

1.09 Carson Palmer ??????WTF?????

1.10 Parker

1.11 Rudi

1.12 Westbrook

2.01 Maroney

2.02 MJD

2.03 Brady ???? Guy is a Moss fan....

2.04 Ronnie Brown (Guy from Fanball again)

2.05 C Benson

2.06 T Henry *

2.07 M Harrison

2.08 MBIII (the other Fanball guy....who grabbed Bush at 1.05!?)

2.09 Steve Smith

2.10 McGahee

2.11 C Johnson

2.12 Edge

3.01 T Holt ~Didn't like seeing the LT owner get Edge...ugh~

3.02 TO

3.03 R Wayne

3.04 R Williams

3.05 L Fitzgerald

3.06 M Lynch

3.07 B Jacobs * ~Thought about grabbing A Peterson here...since RB3 is still a starter, I went with a 'safer' pick.

3.08 T Jones

3.09 C Williams (the Fanball guy) ;)

3.10 J Walker

3.11 C Portis

3.12 D Brees

We changed the format this year to a keeper league, but we can't keep anyone drafted in rounds 1-3...and then we give up a pick 2 rounds earlier to keep someone net year...up to 3 guys.

My team:

QB: Kitna, Roth, Grossman

RB: Gore, Henry, Jacobs, Betts, Turner, AP(chi) (If I keep Betts next year, he'd cost a 5th, Turner will be a 6th) :)

WR: TJHoush, Evans, Berrian, Bruce, TWilliamson

K Elam

D Broncos

10team, 2 ppr league. a mix of guys who use sites like these and guys who come to the draft with a freshly bought magazine.

How far did Larry Johnson slide? he went 1.04.

How far did Adrian Peterson climb? taken in the 4th round (the same guy took lynch (3rd) and jackson (6th))

Was somebody sold on McNabb's knee? he went early 4th round. i live in the philly area though. but he went after manning and palmer. brees followed soon after and then there wasn't another QB taken for a while.

Who did somebody gamble on?

- ahman green (someone i was targetting) went in the 3rd round! much higher than any mocks i've done this year.

strangeness:

- I didn't have a 6th, 7th, 8th, or 9th round pick. but had (3) 10th round picks. it's 7.09 and the owner is taking forever. he says does anyone want this pick? looking at my board i see BRAYLON EDWARDS is there, and about 40 other WRs are gone. i offer up (2) 10th round picks and he accepts. i take edwards... and the guy who had 7.10 throws his pen up in the air and says 'i hate you' to me (in a joking way).... so, regardless of the fact that he was about to be taken - i don't understand him lasting until the 7th in a ppr league.

- Vincent Jackson went in the 5th.

- I got Lamont Jordan, Deshaun Foster and Lendale White with my round 10, 11 and 12...

- Cedric Benson fell to the 5th round (yes, Ahman Green was taken ahead of him)

Deuce was still there at 8.3 in a 10-team redraft league.

You're damn right I took him, LOL.

The biggest to me was MJD going 1.6 ..at first I was like this ;) but then I realized that S.Alexander could be had with the 7th (I had the 7th) :excited:
Yeah, in my other non-PPR draft coming up, the big $$$ one that I play in every year, a guy in front of me is giddy as hell about being able to take MJD in round 1. I can't wait to see who falls to me at 1.12!!!
I drafted 1.12 in my PPR league. We are only through a round and a half. I had a choice between Henry, Rudi, and Steve Smith at the turn. Chad Johnson went at 1.10. I expected that the players I would possibly look at at that spot were Henry, Rudi, Maroney, and Steve Smith. I had Steve Smith as the #1 receiver, with Johnson a close second. I wouldn't consider any other receivers at that spot. Maroney went 1.11. Bush went 1.03. Gore went 1.7, after LJ. Addai was 1.4, followed by Westbrook at 1.5. Alexander was 1.8. I took Henry and Smith. Manning went 2.6.I've been watching a number of other Ants drafts. Portis is dropping sometimes into the fourth. Thomas Jones has dropped to late third. Housh is moving up, sometimes into the second. There seem to be runs in the first two rounds. Sometimes there are runs of WRs so the second tier of WRs is depleted by the end of the third, and then there are quite a few good RBs as a value. In other drafts the RBs go early and the WRs fall a little further. Sometimes the QB run starts in the second to middle third, and I've seen the QB run not start until the fourth. But if it doesn't start until the fourth, they go fast. This is strange because you don't see just players drop, you see position tiers drop. I think this means you need to be flexible. You might expect to go RB/RB/RB, but if the WRs are running the value might still be at RB in the fourth. It is really interesting.

Jones-Drew fell to me at the end of the 3rd round. Picking up Henry and MJD as my top 2 RBs with the 12th pick was loads better than I could've hoped for.

PPR league

Addai fell to 9.

Brady went 1st round.

Steve Smith 2.10

TO 3.03

Peterson 3.6

Palmer-Brees-McNabb- 2nd round in that order.

Boldin 4.4

Romo 4.12

We had a lot of guys taking some risks in this league. Someone started the QB run in the second round and I think people panicked, I didnt, I got Hass in the 5th and I was ok with that. I only took him that early because of the run that was started, people were really reaching and I was worried I wouldnt even get a damn QB.

12 team, Standard Scoring (No PPR):

Adrian Peterson went 4.06; Chester Taylor went in the 7th round

Jones-Drew drafted at 3.07 after Lynch and Thomas Jones were off the board

Holt drafted at 3.09 after Steve Smith, Harrison, TO, and CJ

Gates drafted at 4.12

Michael Turner drafted in the 11th round.

Driver fell to 5.09

R. Moss drafted at 5.06

Chris Henry drafted in 17th round.

Bears and Baltimore D both went in 5th round

Dunn (Round 6) went before Norwood (Round 7)

Cooley lasted until Round 10 (8th TE taken)

Galloway lasted until Round 9

S. Holmes lasted until Round 11

Calvin Johnson taken in Round 6

McNabb taken at 4.10 (5th QB taken)

Redraft league in it's 15th season. PPR league all else pretty basic scoring. Very competitive league.

Draft Summary Here

LJ went 1.03

AP went 3.05

Suprises?

Cedric Benson 1.09 by the guy that won it last season

Tatum Bell 8.02

I was surprised (12 team redraft):

Henry slid to the 21st pick (2.09)

CTaylor (54th/5.06) went right after AD (who went with the 46th/4.10).

Lynch, based on silly preseason games, slide to 70th (6.10).

Addai, amazingly, went 1.02.

FWP slid to 2.01.

Had our big draft in Vegas yesterday. People are going after Bears/Ravens early. Bears went in 5th, Ravens in 6th in 12 team redraft, non-ppr.

Top 6 QB's were all gone by mid 3rd round (Manning/Palmer/Brady/Bulger/McNabb/Brees) - 6pts for passing so understandable. Other than that, here's the first 3 rounds:
