FWIW I'm figuring he is. IMO He and Ryans are their most important players. I don't imagine them letting him "push the envelope" in week 3. Ya know like let him get that knee better and keep on improving for the future. Big progress in Houston but they're not a Supe team yet so I don't see the need to push Andre or let him overdo it.Sorry don't mean to start yet another Andre thread/hijackFor a minute I thought you were saying AJ WAS out.
Well lets hope you're right on AJ only being out a minimal amout of time, but all the same, if it's longer (God forbid), are we dead set certain that it's Jones & not Walter, who would see the up tick in targets?it probably wont matter cause there is little swelling on the knee and AJ should be back in 2 weeks. I dont feel the need to have to start JJ or Walter
Of course we're not dead-set certain. Ok, "dead set certain" was obviously the wrong choice of words here. Just trying to figure out which of the two is more likely to get the lions share of the benefit in the event AJ's injury is worse than we're currently hearing. That is what fantasy football is about. Narrowing the odds & identifying sleepers dontcha know.Of course we're not dead-set certain. Per Kubiak's press conference quotes and what's been heard on the radio, the answer is not what many fantasy players want to here. Andre Davis will be activated. There is a good chance (I gather 60/40ish) Jones and Walter maintain their position roles and Davis is just plugged into Johnson's slot. More Mathis mixed in probably sharing time with Davis. Johnson targets, in a perfect world, will be split among the four WRs, unless or until, somebody displays that they deserve more. Basically, no one player can replace Johnson and the Texans passing game now become a fantasy mess until Johnson returns.Big Score said:Bump in case there's a Texan Homer or two, who can lend some clarity - put in their?
I agree. I will not be starting AJ this week nor would I look at either Jones/Davis/Walter as being replacements. You are talking about one of the better athletes in the game. He could play but I bet they hold him out as a precautionary measure. Schaub hasn't clicked with anyone else, so while everyone goes out and tries to grab the next AJ, I don't see it happening, especially against a pretty good Colts team. My guess is Kubiak changes the playcalling and focuses more on the run, with occaisonal play-action passes to keep the defense honest. I'd pick up R. Dayne before one of these wideouts (remember last year when he scored 2 TD's in the opening minutes of the FF championship game?). They'll play similar to how Tennessee played them, rely upon their defense, keep the score close and try to win it in the final minutes. That's just my take though, I've been wrong several times in the past...Per Kubiak's press conference quotes and what's been heard on the radio, the answer is not what many fantasy players want to here. I think for the Colts game Walter and Owen Daniels will be the two to gain the most from AJ being out. The way to beat the Colts is to win TOP, so I think the game plan will be to run and throw to the possession recievers; Walter, Daniels, and Putzier. I think Davis and Jones will be used to stretch the field and keep the defense honest, but I expect the big guys to get the lion's share of targets. If AJ is out longer than a week things get more interesting. So nobody is concerned that it may be Kevin Walter instead of Jones, who ends up being the primary beneficary if AJ is out?.
