If you owned Adrian Peterson in a dynasty league (1 Viewer)

14 TEAM Dynasty :

I offered

LaDainian Tomlinson

Willis McGahee

Torry Holt

for

Peterson

-------------

declined.

Just offered Ports, Calvin and Baltimore. Can sub in Gore, Bowe, Evans, Chicago or San Diego as desired.

I'll let you know if it even gets a look. Somehow doubt it.

I have been shopping players around in a second year dynasty and I EARNED my 1.01 dynasty rook pick. I didn't trade for it, I wallowed in 13 games of misery last season to aquire it. That being said I am at the top of my division, I believe one more win clinches for me (yes that far ahead) and have been shopping AP and Randy Moss in the hopes of getting a better distribution of starters as we can start 3 rbs or 4 wrs. scoring is fairly standard.

My backs are: ADP, Travis Henry, Priest Holmes, Tiki Barber (don't ask), Warrick Dunn, Chris Brown, Michael Robinson, Musa Smith, Kevan Barlow, Darius Walker, Leonard Weaver.

Deep rosters btw.

I have a guy interested in ADP who has 4 1sts next year and Frank Gore, SJax, Ronnie Brown.

I have been worried all day about offereing ADP for Sjax, Gore, 2 '08 firsts and maybe Boldin. Not because I think he will reject it, but in the off chance he accepts it. Weird how things change in 8 weeks...

I may love AP, but for Gore, SJax, Boldin, and two '08 1st round picks, I don't see how you could say no.

well got my 3rd different owner in my league making an offer for peterson.

This guy wanted ADP AND Eli in exchange for Palmer.

I mean while everybody in the league knows I'm a big Bengals homer COME ON!

I offered. He will reject most likely and I will commence breathing again. I only offered because my original assessment of my team this year was I would be in the running for McFadden. My team looked that bad until the NFL draft and a few off-season NFL trades. My team isn't stacked but I am playoff bound and 1st in points. Hate to upset the cart on a championship run.

My latest offer of Tomlinson and Holt has been rejected. I am going to stop banging head against the wall and move on.

I have him in 1 one player keeper league and would consider trading him for multiple picks (say a 1st and 2nd rounder) and someone to help me win the title this year, but that's only because I also have Addai, Gore and Lynch.

Peterson owner in a keeper league. Just received an offer straight up for..... Ike Hilliard. The offer came from a guy in his 1st year of fantasy football but even considering that, it still made me scratch my head.

I traded LJ and 1.20 for the 1.01 and Jerry Porter this offseason in a 20 team/10 keeper league so I could get Peterson. There is no single player that I would trade him for. For me to consider trading him, LT would have to be included in the package as well as another every-week starter such as Brees or Palmer or Romo.

I made a trade for ADP Saturday before our leagues trade deadline. I paid a heafty price but expect that I am better for it. 16 team dynasty

Gore, Megatron, 2008 1st, 2009 1st for

ADP

My starters going forward are now.

Romo

SJax, Peterson (Selvin Young/Foster)

Welker, Cotchery

Cooley.

How are you better off now that Peterson is injured and most likely out for the season?

You've got to be kidding. You have to realize that this is a distinct possibility.

A "possibility"...? Sure. "Most likely?" Hardly.

Yikes, way more than I'd ever pay (would need the picks near #16 over-all).

Any Peterson owners care to chime in on what it might take to move him if Brian Westbrook were involved?
An elite WR, particularly Moss or Wayne, possibly Edwards, CJ, Roy Williams and probably a pretty high pick for next year or maybe another impact player. Minimum.

Well in the very near term I am not better off due to the injury. Howerver you should take note that this is a dynasty discussion and so the future is seldom right now. His injury really doesn't hurt his value to any real extent.I dont want to turn this into a disscussion about my team, I wanted to include it as a reference so Others could can see that the two draft picks that I gave up will most likely be late round picks. ADP trades are going to be risky and involve a lot of talant. I'm just trying to help others out in trying to determine the ADP futures market.

Me I like to win, now.

I received these offers for Peterson today in a 6 player keeper PPR league.

Westbrook and andre davis

for

Peterson and Berrian

Benson , Boldin and Chambers

for

Peterson, Berrian and Seahawks D

McNabb, Willie Parker and Sidney Rice

for

Peterson and Derek Anderson

the only reason I would consider any of these is the fact that I have been planning for some time to drop out of this league at the end of the season.

plus, I am 9-1 and want to win it all this year.

Westbrook owner, and I'm not 100% convinced that I'd trade him for Peterson straight up. I mean, I'd probably do it sooner or later, mostly because Peterson is so much younger... but the point is that I'd have to think about it. Once you started asking me to include additional players, I'd shut down negotiations right there. Peterson might have looked like a stud for 8 games, but Westbrook has looked like every bit as much of a stud for 4 years.

Come on, man. Peterson is 22 years old, and had 1000 yards in his first 8 games. Westbrook only has one 1000 yard season in his career. I'm an Eagles' fan, and love Westbrook...but this is ridiculous. I wouldn't trade Peterson, period.

Just had an offer of M. Lynch + Fitz for AP straight up. Again I had to say no. Regardless of his injury this man will be dynamite next yr. Im 1st in my league and have enough depth to cover the loss of him.

it depends on the league, but i could see not giving up westbrook for peterson straight up.

westbrook is going to get 50 catches per year. doesn't like like peterson is that stratosphere yet.

does your league take away points for 200 yard rushing games?

in my league, westrook has outscored peterson.

and 4 of the 7 weeks they both played, westbook outscored peterson. a 5th week it was 9-8 in favor of peterson.

for shame!I have no problems making trades to win it all, but only those I'd do if I stayed in.

None of those offers are legit.

last night I was offered Ronnie Brown, McGahee, Rudi, Grant, Graham, TJ Housh, Cotchery, and a 1st rounder next year for AP, Bush, Randy Moss, and AJ. I turned it down as soon as my brain saw the words Bush and AP.

that essentially equates to a whole bunch of good/very good players for 4 stud players. good move.

Actually, that essentially equates to "here, you take my team and I'll take yours".

Last I heard, receiving yards count just as much as rushing yards.Adrian Peterson yards per game- 144.6Brian Westbrook yards per game- 152.4 (and the same number of TDs in one fewer game).Westbrook also plays in a better offense with a better QB and a better head coach (although I suppose both could very easily be gone after this season). He's got more talent around him, and the fact that he's a dual-threat means he's tougher to shut down. He has been EVERY BIT as good as Adrian Peterson this year, and he has a track record to back it up and demonstrate that it's not a fluke.Another thing to keep in mind is that Adrian Peterson is averaging 6.4 yards per carry right now. Stuff like that is possible over an 8-game sample, but he's guaranteed to return to earth. Barry Sanders never in his career averaged 6.4, and only once did he average over 6. Only once did Jim Brown average 6.4 (it was also the only time he broke 6.0). Gale Sayers only broke 6.0 once, and never reached 6.4. Even the best, most explosive backs in the history of the sport of football cannot maintain performance at the level Peterson is performing at right now for more than a single season, at most. He'll get more carries in the future, which will offset the decreased ypc, but increase his chance of getting injured. Westy gets a lot of his touches in the passing game, and Football Outsiders did a study which showed that RBs who catch a lot of passes aren't more likely to regress than RBs who get a lot of carries. I also don't buy the "he's a rookie, so he'll probably improve" point for runningbacks. They tend to come into the league at full-strength. There's not much of a learning curve involved. Now, I *would* trade Westy for Peterson eventually, because Peterson is significantly younger, but the point I'm making is that Westbrook is a top-3 Dynasty RB in my mind, and the difference between Peterson and the other elite studs in dynasty is nowhere near what everyone in this thread is making it out to be. If Westbrook were 3 years younger, I would rank him ahead of Peterson. If you start talking about PPR, then fugheddaboudit. That's like giving Westbrook a 7-TD head start.

Nah, just yawning at an absurd response. Your response to my statement couldn't possibly merit insight.

2QB league and we can keep 3 players but they move up 2 rounds each year and can only be kept twice (total of 3 years on roster).

I traded ADP/VYoung/AGreen for PManning/MLynch/SYoung (I have Henry). ADP is a 2nd round keepr next year but I already have KJones (R8), Cutler (R10) and a choice between Edwards (R7), Holmes (R11), Maroney (R4), Jennings (R13) or Witten (R16).

I'll miss rooting for APeterson as that SD game was probably the most fun I've had wathcing a football game (from a fantasy perspective). But I may be sleeping on the couch as the wife is a Minny fan and she enjoyed rooting for him with me.

The Peterson owner offered him to me for 2 1st round picks (2009 and 2010) and Jerious Norwood. I just don't know... Given this injury, it could mean an avalanche of injuries for the rest of his career.

I traded my first rookie pick this year which of coarse would have been AP, for the third pick this year, a first next year that should be hi pick, and Maroncey GB. The league barely allowed it because they thought I was getting to much! haha It turned out I got ripped depending on what that first pick turns out next year!

Just goes to show how crystal balls change from week to week. BOTTOM LINE I blew my one chance to own AP in a dynasty! I do own him in a re-draft. Took him over Brown in 3rd round! Turned out a good pick that helped me win some weekly hi's in a 200 redraft league!
