TO Crying (1 Viewer)

I doubt there are any tough guys here in this thread that put a years worth of effort into something only to fail in the end. There were probably other players who cried at home last night but T.O. is just strange enough to get caught on camera doing it.
I cried after this years fantasy football season. It happened right after I reviewed the draft and saw that I took Alexander over Addai.

TO is like a wife. If you treat a wife bad, don't pay enough attention to her, and don't take care of your own business, she'll leave you saying nasty things on the way out. You treat her well, pay enough attention to her, and take care of your own business, she'll stick by your side 'til the end of time. And probably get a little emotional along the way. Whole lotta bitter exes in here who can't handle another guy treating their ex right and reaping the benefits.

Interesting analogy, but keep in mind that, in your scenario, Owens would be one of those crazy wives who you always have to be careful to say and do the right thing around, because if you don't, even just once, they will spaz out and go all psycho ##### on you. :cry:And like a woman, if you do or say one wrong thing, Owens will never forget it and will have no problem bringing it up months or even years later in an argument that has nothing to do with it.

Apparently you're not a golfer...

I'm not a big fan of his at all, but some of you guys are way off in your criticism on this one.

it's amazing. this guy gets slaughtered for being a clubhouse virus for years. now he gets overly emotional about how bad he feels for his team and his QB and he gets slaughtered for that, too.

TO's a great player and currently, a great teammate. how 'bout we just leave it at that.

i'm not a cowboys fan and i have been critical of TO in the past. TO certainly was a pain in the ### in philly, but looking back, if the eagles didn't have an idiot walrus of a head coach, that situation might've ended differently. (as opposed to reid's chosen path of ignoring the situation, never handling it, until it gets out of control and the only thing left to do is be the "tough guy" and cut TO.)

Yeah, TO can't win.

What I saw this year was a WAAAY improved TO. He was more about the team than I've seen in the past. What he said in the post game interview was really amazing. He could of threw Romo, or anybody else under the bus. TO spent 16 hours a day rehabbing to come back from the ankle injury and I can understand how crushing a defeat like that would be to put so much into getting healthy.

TO impressed me this year. He is a hard worker who loves the game and wants to win.

I was with you on this until he said he's "always had the back of ALL his quarterbacks".He threw Garcia under the bus,he threw McNabb under the bus,it's only a matter of time, the next playoff game he's in with Dallas(if there is one) and he has a decent game and they lose,Romo will be pulling tread marks off his back.

Hard to throw anyone under the bus when you dropped a pass and alligator armed a long bomb yourself. TO's job is to be TO, get opena nd catch the ball. He didn't do that yesterday, he's got no call to throw anyone under the bus. He disappeared last year during their playoff loss too, and that was against scrubs picked up off the street the week before. That said, I don't see anything wrong with his presser. He was devastated by a loss and knew what was in store for his friend and teammate and tried to ward that off a little. It's too bad he has set himself up to be railed on no matter what he does. It's his own fault, but how can you slam a guy for being emotional after a loss. Except for the part about never throwing any other QB under the bus was a bunch of BS but otherwise what he did was just fine,.

I don't see anythng wrong with anyone tearing up, BUT my first thought (maybe I'm incorrect) that he was conveniently wearing glasses. Did he actually tear up or was it all an act? Its very unlike TO to cry. If anything, if he really likes Romo, I think his real reaction would have been anger, both that they lost (as a team), and at the reporters for asking about Romo's vacation. Somethings not right here.

That's because you're really new to the hobby. Keep at it and you'll be sharkish in the next 3 or 4 years.

The truth is.....regardless of what TO says or does he will be critized. Debating that is pointless.

As a Cowboy fan, I have zero problems with TO....I hope he's back next year.

I'm no TO fan, but does this does seem like TO can't win here, he's backing up his teammate and getting crap for it.
Him saying a hypocritical thing like, "I have had the back of every QB I have ever had," is a huge reason why. I give Owens mad props for gutting it out and playing hurt yesterday, but for him to say something like that is just inviting criticism, considering the ####storm he caused in Philly by bashing his QB.
Haven't finished reading the thread, but this is exactly my feeling as an Eagles fan. "I'm not the one who got tired" isn't exactly the same as "we lost as a team" imo. He may have gotten away with the whole crying routine if he just didn't add the "always have my QB's back" schtick.Oh, and the whole praise to God for letting play thing may as well be interpreted as "I think I deserve a raise next year". Seen that one before.

Maybe one day I can be just like you!

TO brings it on himself. If he doesn't want the harsh criticism, maybe he should lay off the limelight. You don't see people getting up in Marvin Harrison's face about stuff, or Donald Driver, or Reggie Wayne, or Torry Holt....no it tends to be those that seek the glory that the fans like to see humiliated. They bring it on themselves.

Everyone has buried TO because he he has consistently been all about "me" -- well he hasn't been a troublemaker since he got to Dallas and he's talking about how they lost as a team rather than throwing someone under the bus. Much like Hines Ward -- do I want to see him crying on TV? Not especially. But compared to how TO has been in the past, if you had told the the Shark pool last year that after a playoff loss TO would be on TV telling reports not to place blame on anyone but the team, no one would have bought it. He, and the Cowboys will be back ready to make some noise next year.
:goodposting: As soon as the game ended I told my wife, "T.O.'s in the locker room right now ripping on his teammates." I was wrong. Had I been right, I believe it would have been yet another Beginning Of The End for Owens and his tenure with an NFL franchise. Now I think he'll stick around and possibly get things clicking again with Romo in 2008.

Same thing I've been doing, wondering if and hoping you are a crosseyed chick. Very few things should bring a man too tears. A ####### football game should never be one of them.

TO always drops balls, that is being TO. Romo under threw and floated the bomb, TO beat the coverage. Crayton's drops and Fasano's drops were bigger than anything TO dropped. Plenty of blame to go around, including an awful game plan. They should of been bombs away all day long, not just the 4th Q. Did Whitten even have a catch in the first half? I'm convinced TO from a few years ago would of blamed his team mates and coaches for the loss. The dude grew up this year.

Maybe you're thinking of a different play. The one I am talking about was down the left sideline. TO had his man beat, barely and stretched his arms out only about halfway and it went off the tips of his fingers. If he stretched his arms out he would've caught it in stride and possibly had a TD if he could avoid being dragged down, which given his physical style is entirely possible. His other drop hit him in the hands and was just a bad drop, those happen. Short arming it is a lot more inexcusable. Romo's bad pass to an open TO slipped out of Romo's grip as he threw it. I wasn't trying to blame TO for the loss and pretty much said that thoe bashing his presser are in the wrong. He had it dead right when he said it was a team loss. But when you talk as much as TO and are as gifted as TO, you should make the catches at clutch time. You can't compare TO to Crayton or Fasano, although clearly their drops/miscues were devastating.

The ball was deflected by the defender, altering the trajectory of the pass. While an all-pro should be able to make the adjustment, at the same time it's not easy to do so when you're running full tilt.

I'll have to see the play again then. I don't recall seeing any tip, just TO's arms alligatored in and the pass sailing past his fingers. Didn't seem to me at the time that the defender tipped it.

It's not fair  Pure comedy. The best presser since the Mora meltdown.A grown man crying because the media isn't playing nice with his $30 million teammate for spending his bye week in Cabo with his bubble-headed girlfriend. Flame on you sanctimonious dorks. I'll keep :goodposting: for a long time with this one.

I didn't see TO's interview after the game but I did notice how he did the old middle finger to the side of his nose to the cameraman as he was walking off the field.

Was I the only one who thought those were forced tears??

I don’t hate T.O or nothing like that (quite the opposite actually), but it just seemed like the crying was forced, and no actual tears ever came down his face.

Just saying...

Finally a reason not to be sarcastic. This is dead on.

Not sure how to feel about this. TO gets knocked if he attacks his QB, and he gets knocked when he gets emotional defending him.Sure, seeing him cry is weird, but it's tough to lose a playoff game. Plus, TO is kind of unstable, with his "non" suicide attempt, etc. I don't think it shows a lack of class to defend your teammate. TO is just a weird guy.
Agreed. I wonder what McNabb and Garcia thought of that. But I don't know how you can rip a guy for defending his QB. Guy is one of the toughest and most passionate competitors in the game. Love him or hate him, there's not a lot of room for discussion on that point.J
That's what gets me. I'm jaded, but I thought he was joking.
