AL Central Preview (1 Viewer)

Before I read that I just want to say the White Sox will win 85 games. Not shtick. They might finish second in the division.

I dont know why that would be schtick. I think they made some nice moves this offseason, especially to their bullpen. Linebrink, Dotel, Jenks is a pretty nice trifecta. The Swisher, Quentin, and Cabrera moves will really help their offense. And I think Guillen is a very good manager.

Their analysis of KC is so off....they played 51-49 ball last season from early June through early Sept.
Dreadful bullpen, below average starters but they should improve due to the continued improvement of Gordon & Butler and the addition of Guillen. I doubt theyll be .500 and I cant read the column but 75 wins wouldnt surprise me.Also, why early Sept? Is it because it proves your point better? Why not thru the end of Sept?

Dreadful bullpen? Name me all 5 RPs who are dreadfulStarters? You're telling me Meche, Bannister and Greinke are below average?

Meche is good. Bannister had a solid year although I wouldnt say hes anything more than average. Grienke hasnt been average since he had a mental breakdown. I actually think Grienke could be a dominant closer. Their other starters are WELL below average. Their bullpen is so dreadful I can barely name 5 guys in it (I can but thats cuz Im a huge baseball fan. You get the point). Dont tell me your starting the same schtick you had saying the Chiefs would be good only now with the Royals.

Huge MIGHTSP is the key here, and with the inexperience of both Danks and Flyod, coupled with the age of Contreres(48), this team is in the very least 1 innings eater away from competing this year.

No way they Sox jump either Det and Clv.

They will be lucky to end up in 3rd this year

and for the record, I am not predicting anything for KC good or bad. All I am doing is calling you out for a severely mis-informed opinion.

:bowtie: Riske is no longer with the team and according to you Grienke is in the rotation. Soria is a good young arm but Gobble & Peralta are nothing more than journeyman type pitchers. KC has the 4th best bullpen (at best) in the Central behind MIN, CLE, & CHW

LOL @ Gobble and Peralta comments....seeing how Gobble is the longest tenured Royal, he is some journeyman. Also, I thought you would pigeon hole me on RIske. Did you not know that KC signed Ron Mahay, who had a sub 3 ERA with TEX and ATL last season.

Some crappy bullpen, seeing as how they don't have an ERA over 3.9 in there. And they also have added Yasuhiko Yabuta, who had a sub 3 ERA in Japan, and is a guy the Royals had to outbid other teams to get.

Also, the #s I gave you for Greinke are when he went to the rotation at the end of the season......if you want to go all the way back to when he was sent to the pen in early May, I can. I know the #s and they are sick.

I was with you until here. Guillen might be one of the most overrated managers ever.

he MIGHT have gotten a little lucky with his entire team having career years when they won the WS.... but seriously, how hard is it to manage in the AL?

The Royals may be improved, but they play in a REALLY tough decision. They have little if any shot at .500.

My early prediction is that they go 78-84, and finish 9 games ahead of the White SoxMy first slate of how I see the AL CentralDET 98-64CLE 90-72MIN 81-81KAN 78-84CHI 69-93

Minnesota at .500? I got them finishing in last place
I am basing my MIN projection on several things.Offense-Not much doing after the big four of Morneau, Mauer, Young and Cuddyer.Pitching-Lose Johan-Who knows what Liriano will be like-lose Silva-relying basically on Slowey, Perkins, Baker to be ready and Liriano to be the stud he was.-I am not counting on much from Humber - the guy will be 26 in '08. You ain't much of a prospect @ 26, esp. when NY had some it's struggles SP-wise and never called on you.So I think they may hit the ball okay but I don't see all those SPs performing well.
