I am not sure where this should be posted, so mods please feel free to move where necessary.

Ok, so I am starting up my first fantasy league this year. I have been told that MyFantasyLeague is the best, is this true? I want more than a free league can offer, so I am keep all options open. I am not looking to spend more than the $70-80 MFL is charging. Any help you can provide is appreciated, because honestly, I have no idea other than MFL. Thanks guys.

Before I delete and create my league does anyone want the 10.00 credit for MFL?? It reads, "Hint: Enter the five-digit league id (from a 2008 league) of the person who referred you to us, and if you purchase this league, they'll get a $10.00 credit toward their 2009 league purchase! (More details here.)"

I am purchasing this league, so if you post your league ID in 10 minutes or so you can get the 10 bucks :sadbanana:

Well feel free to use my MFL league as the referral: 20721I know our commish & co-commish do all their hard work out of their of FF and dont reduce their own entry fees even for all the extra work they do. :football: Thanks.Once you get people used to the idea of a non-Yahoo, non-ESPN, non-CBS site and they see all the awesome features on MFL, your league mates will really get into the MFL site and hopefully improve the quality of your league overall.

i know its late now, but i use www.fleaflicker.com and it is great.tons of settings, live scoring, flawless draft with no lag, and its all FREE...

thats my site of choice (used it for the first time last year after going from cbs, to yahoo, to EAsport, to even friggin AOL)

Used MFL, CBS, ESPN and yahoo. CBS is by far the best. If you are willing to pay the $130 fee it is worth it. You will find most on this site HATES CBS.

 
There is definitely a billion threads on this, but I'll chime in for MFL anyway. The only issue is that you really need a commissioner who will spend some time creating the page. Too many guys just slap up a few modules and call it a day. The site is infinitely more customizable than any other and if you don't utilize that, you're really missing out.

As the commish I am going to do that. I just hope I know what the hell I am doing. It took me a while just to figure out how to do decimal scoring, ha. But I would still like to keep it simple. I don't like too much crap anyway. They do drafting right? We can host our draft through the site - so people don't have to be physically present? Or does the commish enter it all after a draft? Just taking a look, there is so much stuff, this will help fill time this summer, that's for sure.Nevermind, I am going to stop asking question like I am 12, and just figure this crap out.

I'm going to give EA Sports Fantasy Football a try this year. With the draft app that they'll have on the 360 showing Madden highlights of players as they are drafted plus being able to import your fantasy team into Madden '09, it should be pretty cool.

I have always used Yahoo and have never had any problems. We have used it for 8 years now and it's been great. But this year we were thinking about creating a Super League consisting of Conferences with 2 player pools. MFL is one of the few hosts that offer this so I checked it out. From the start I was really impressed with the customization of the league. It was pretty easy to format it similar to a Yahoo league...lol But then I got to the Team Pages and the Free Agent pages and the players stats aren't even shown in those 2 important places. What is up with that? You can't sort through the free agent list by anything other than points scored. I can't understand where all the love for MFL comes from because of this one factor.

not true - go to the "reports > players > top performers/player stats" report, and then click on "advanced search" - from the advanced search page, you'll see a drop-down that defaults to "fantasy point scorers", but you can change it to "rushers", "passers", etc. to see/sort based on raw stats for a variety of categories.edit to add - see this page for an example.

Our league has been using EA for the last 3 years...absolutely phenominal...and FREE!Has it all...including FREE live scoring of each player, not just your team...EA asks for no money at all.And, as a bonus every league winner receives a $25 gift certificate at EA...(see sig)

MFL's live scoring works well. I've never tried CBS, but the draw to MFL is customization. It's the only site where you can design your league interface exactly how you want, given you have someone with enough technical expertise to do it. And of course, it's half the price. If you don't have someone willing or able to customize your MFL page, you aren't getting the full experience. In that case, I guess you'd be better off with a site like CBS.

I used to have my leagues in RTS. I switched to MFL and never looked back. I like it a hell of lot better than RTS. However, both are good for the money.

RTS has one continuous message board thread (instead of individual threads you have to click on) so you get to know better those in your league and there is more interaction. In MFL leagues you hear the complaint that people are not involved in the league, probably because they are not forced to look at every message posted.

To be honest, I am not going to customize it all that much. I may tweak a few things, but I have no experience in HTML or whatever. Sure I might be better off going with CBS, but isn't it much more expensive than the 80 bucks?

The problem with yahoo is they don't offer the dynasty format. I think they're crazy for not offer this since the dynasty format has become more popular than redraft. Also, yahoo's message board sucks, and you can't modify home page content like you can with MFL.

Can you point me to an example of this? More interaction is always a good thing. Don't forget, with MFL's customization options you can add pretty much anything you see on another site. If your example looks like a good idea, I'll probably add something similar to my MFL page.

No worries. We didn't do much customization in our first season on MFL, but now in our fourth season the site has changed substantially. I have very little training with HTML or java, but the support forums on MFL offer a lot of knowledge and ideas to toy with when you're ready to explore.

Another vote for MFL.

Edit to add: My local league is on RTS, and I much prefer MFL.

I know you already purchased MFL and I'm late in posting, but hey..... MFL all da way!

we were on cbs/yahoo and neither one compares to MFL imho

I still don't get why anyone would purchase anything to play or be a commish in a public or private league(s).EA Sports is FREE and FULLY functional...not leaving anything out.I just don't get it?
 
now that I have completely disowned my affiliations with Fleaflicker, I have to move about a dozen leagues elsewhere. I already know yahoo and ESPN and their various annoyances, but what about this EA Sports? I went to the www.easports.com webpage, and I am seeing NOTHING.

Help me out here, where is their fantasy football stuff?

Does EA Sports support a dynasty league (keep all and will transfer rosters, scoring, and rules from one year to the next automatically)? How is their message board? Can you modify the content of your home page? Do they provide online league technical support? Does EA sports provide leagues with salary cap management? Do they provide auction capabilities?

Eh....I'm not impressed....I went to set-up a 10 team, 14 week H2H league and it insists that we play doubleheaders. Some of the flexibility I'm used to in Fanball regarding FA pick-ups, waivers, Finances isn;t there. It's a nice looking site but it's not everything...
