Help Hilltop Artists Fund a New Glory Hole
Creating glass art requires lots of expensive equipment, like furnaces and glory holes. You are probably asking yourself what on earth is a glory hole and how could it be appropriate for kids? A glory hole is a critical piece of equipment to glass blowing: when Hilltop Artists students, all ages 11 to 20, are blowing glass, the glass cools off and can no longer be shaped and formed until they reheat it in the glory hole. If the glass cools too fast, it can shatter. Right now, we have an emergency with our largest glory hole and it needs to be replaced.
